Karma is seriously so broken in the laning phase.

During the laning phase, a lot of supports have poke (Sona having a Q and auto, etc) that they will keep repeating on an enemy until they are noticeably low. Then, they will signal their adc and they will go in on the enemy, possibly leading to a kill.

But with this Karma btch, poking is just taken to the next level.

Take Soraka for instance. She will be at a moderate range away from the enemies while hitting them with her Q and an auto every now and then, and healing herself and her ally. When the enemy becomes low enough, she will E them, silencing them to prevent escape and possibly rooting them to continue the prevention. If it leads to a kill, great! If not, maybe next time.

Then you take Karma. At level 1, her RQ poke will do at least 40% of the enemies' health (since it's legit impossible to miss because if you miss the skillshot, it has a giant AoE to cover for it). At level 2, she can gauruntee a kill with her teammate. She has a TARGETED ROOT with something that has DELAYED AREA DAMAGE. So, if you think I'm just a whiny kid who needs to learn to leave her RQ range, well then maybe you should consider this. She has, once again, a TARGETED ROOT. Combined with the full damage from said root, her combo will:

-root the enemy -deal at least half their health

And thus gaurunteeing an early kill.

You guys can complain, yell, and downvote me, but you all know I'm right.

I find it disturbing that whenever people talk about nerfing Karma, it's usually in a way that is detrimental to her solo laning. You're comparing Karma to champs like Soraka and Sona, but really Karma wasn't designed to play by the same rules as those supports. She's more in line with Morgana, Lux and Orianna, or supposed to be at least.

So while I agree with you in regards to her power being too concentrated into her early game, I'm concerned about any changes to her that would further gut her solo laning. Karma deals mage damage because that's what she was designed to function as, a supportive mage. Although, I would be all for moving some of her bases into ap ratios, that seems fair.

At level 1, her RQ poke will do at least 40% of the enemies' health (since it's legit impossible to miss because if you miss the skillshot, it has a giant AoE to cover for it).

Her RQ encourages max range usage due to its artillery style cast type, it gets harder to dodge because the explosion range is deceptive. I've seen many people get frustrated when they thought they dodged her RQ but were caught by the very tip of its AoE. At the same time, I've seen many Karma's whiff their RQs at close range simply because of how it's hitbox works.

It's been suggested a few times that her RQ switch to a different cast type, more befitting of a Battlemage - a ground targeted AoE (like Lux's E). It could be telegraphed for clarity (if necessary) and would allow for more flexible usage, whilst also adding counterplay (can be dodged easier). RQ would lose its max range reliability and reduce her ability to poke, but would become more reliable for her in closer ranges

As for her root, it may be targeted, but it's delayed. It can be outplayed so many ways, it's not really a threat in bot lane. In top lane against immobile melees though... it's disgusting.

I have always been curious as to why they keep Karma's Q damage as high as it is. Get some spell pen runes and stack AP and she has an easy ~150 damage every seven seconds at level 1 (shorter if she can weave her passive in between casts)

I'm not even sure why this is downvoted, I'm a Karma main and I fully support them nerfing her Q base damages, they are legitimately absurd. Later on in the game I think it's tolerable (not that her kit is fun to go against mind you), but early game I can get away with so much damage (amplified by the correct runes/masteries) I cannot even fathom how frustrating it must be to go against.
