Please dont make Cho like Syndra...

Syndra was getting so many buffs throughout last season and the result was her banrate and winrate jumped to insanity and she was played in pro play and in the end she had her R and W nerfed like hell, please DO NOT make Cho like this fix his E and that is that, same for Ekko or Xerath, these are perfectly fine champions with solid win rates and play rates dont buff the champion that dosent need it...

cho's E isnt that op, it's just that item 3193 + ult interaction that makes him extremely broken

cho's E isnt that op, it's just that item 3193 + ult interaction that makes him extremely broken

He had that interaction before 7.14 and i saw noone complaining. His E is what made him what he is now. It provides him with reliable cc AND a way to actually get his victims low enough to R. What needs to be nerfed is his E slow and stacks scaling. His ult and stoneplate was fine before anyway.

notice me Sin pi1 votes

maybe people didnt complain simply because cho's pick rate was extremely low, maybe im wrong on that. Either his E or R needs to be nerfed, and it definitely should not be the slow on E if cho were to stay relevant in current meta

Orangesilk2 votes

That isn't really the thing that broke him here, he's had that interaction for a while. Cho has always been the guy who gets tanky and bursts squishies while being super easy to kite.

What broke him here is they made him target-agnostic, this means that even if he can't get to the backline he deals infinitely scaling %max HP to the frontline and threatens to execute them while still being nigh-unkillable.

Thamios3 votes

I truly hate it when you guys say "infinite" when getting to any significant point... You know what a 10-stack Cho does in %-age HP damage? 8% Per hit. This is up for ~3.5 seconds so if he's not right-clicking you THE ENTIRE TIME that third AA won't go off.

Cho is STILL super easy to kite before Righteous Glory. Is he able to abuse it? Yes. Should Cho be nerfed? NO! The problem appears to be Righteous Glory (70-second CD in midgame means it's up for every teamfight). Items are supposed to shore up the weaknesses of a champion. Cho has no mobility. Cue Righteous Glory. He has no self-sustain or damage mitigation other than stacking HP. The only reason he's high priority right now is because lethality got changed and it's back on top over BoRK.

Every time I read things like this I hear "Oh No! Cho hit 6 items! I can't kill him like I could 10 minutes ago WAAAA!". Cho is either a Tank or a bruiser-y burst mage, he can't build both. Cho can STILL be CC'd and focused down, you just have to ADAPT to kill him.

Thanks god ! we have someone with brain here.

I was sad seeing only criers, bad losers, liars, exaggerations and ragers about Chogath.

The best post in a while here! :👏

I've been a Cho main for 3 seasons now. He's broken right now, he should not be able to be that threatening to squishies and tanks at the same time while being super tanky. It -used- to be that Cho had to choose between damage and tankiness, now he can build full tanky, letting his E shred tanky targets and his R burst squishies.

Normally juggernauts deal -less- damage to tanks the longer the game goes. Darius will shit on you in lane if you're a tanky champion, come 30 minutes however, if he's not insanely fed, he will be much much less threatening to you, so as long as you make him stand still and away from your squishies you can deal with him. Cho however right now deals -more- damage to tanky champions the longer the game goes. 10 stack Cho is one thing, but the longer the game goes the stronger his E gets, the harder he is to kill, he scales inversely through game-length unlike other juggernauts.

He's not unbeatable, but a team shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops just because I picked Cho, if we tone down the %HP damage on his E he'll probably be -fine- (and go back to being a nigh-unplayable laner in the toplane).

syndra is still good tho?

DJMason884 votes

In pro play, but she isn't as good as some people think.

Skorch2 votes

48% is NOT that bad, im tired of the 50% or trash on champions people like.

You can definitely still win on a champion just under 50%, now 45% or less i understand. But 48%?

Danjeng1 votes

48% isn't bad at all, especially considering her playrate. Take a look at Ryze on the other hand.

WoonStruck1 votes

Ryze is still considered strong though.

Just difficult to use, as always.

Danjeng1 votes

That's my point. Syndra is still strong, even though her win rate is sub 50%.

Disembark2 votes

He's actually trash overall now. Like even huge Ryze players like Faker and Caps don't even touch him anymore

LethalTempo Jhin1 votes

Ryze is garbage right now.

DJMason885 votes

Not saying she's trash but she isn't stomping everygame she plays in and oneshotting everybody as some people would like to believe.

Thefrostyviking1 votes

Dude, she is still great in soloque, but she does have a learning curve which is contrary to what a number of people think.

They see a overfed Syndra OS a ADC with Q and a 2 sphere boosted R and they think "oh free win champ" then pick her and get beaten miserably.

Even i can play her and i am fairly bad all things considered ._.

Thefrostyviking4 votes

Dude what?

Syndra was in for a ton of nerfs but Riot actually stopped because her playrates and winrates dropped like a dropped like a rock after people learned how to play against her once her first rework W was gone.

She is still extremely good and Faker plays her fairly regularly too, even i can do it ._.

Darth StepVader4 votes

He is more like 5.17 reworked Darius tbh. With some numbers nerfs he should be in a good place.

WoonStruck3 votes

Even if you gut Cho's E, he'll still be able to jungle with 9% HP runes, bond of stone, and cinderhulk for 34% increased HP. This lets him WAY too easily hit 2k true damage on his R.

Even if his E were just an auto reset (no bonus damage) he would be busted using item 1401 item 3800 item 3742 item 3193 item 3190 and pretty much any combination of those because he could just smite auto E R to 1 shot anybody without health items. No skill required, considering people would likely be using ghost, righteous glory, and a stacked deadman's on top of the slows.

Keep in mind that he'd have his one shot gimmick, then an AoE knock-up and Silence to follow up on the fight with.

If Cho isn't the only initiator, you can't beat that through 'outplays'.

Except that before they changed his e he wasn't a problem at all.

VorpalKitsune1 votes

The main reason i can see why this is this way, is because the biggest weakness of cho, and the reason he was sitting in the gutters despite the buffs, is he was to easy to kite even if he got up to someone once. The e really helped with this problem, so with him being a little over buffed, and the horrible stoneplate + ult interaction, he went from garbage, to "op". Now if they were to remove the interaction and do some small nerfs to tone down the over buffing, he should be in a good spot. I do not think that the new e is a bad thing, it just needs some small tuning.

WoonStruck1 votes

Except that before they added stoneplate he wasn't a problem at all.

FTFY

Orangesilk3 votes

He's done that before, bursting squishies is FINE for an immobile champion who's easy to kite and whose only CC is easy to dodge.

The thing that made him broken is his infinitely scaling %max HP on auto-attacks, this makes it so that even if he can't get to the backline he can shred the frontline for a lot of damage. He used to flop terribly against anything that built some HP, now he doesn't care who his target is and just keeps going.

This Cho build that you're talking about, before the E changes, was sporting a hefty 42% winrate, Cho jungle was basically trolling your team.

NineTailedMystic1 votes

He had to build as a relatively squishy AP to one shot squishies before. Now he gets to do it full Tank.

Orangesilk1 votes

You mean patch 7.14 when he had the scaling HP ult and the stoneplate interaction and he was at 42% winrate as a jungler and 46% as a toplaner?.

NineTailedMystic1 votes

Didn't know you were talking last patch. Thought you meant before, as in before his gameplay update. Regardless one shotting a squishy with one ability is not healthy. "just kite him bro" is not an acceptable answer.

notice me Sin pi1 votes

{quoted}

The thing that made him broken is his infinitely scaling %max HP

Nasus Veigar Kindred Bard And yet, no one complains about their infinite scaling; infinite scaling is not broken as long as game does not somehow last 10 hours

Syndra had her W and R nerfed like hell.

Ult gained 20s cd at rank 1 and W hitbox got decreased a little, those lovetaps is what you call "nerfed to hell"? LMAO.

Meanwhile syndra is still broken and p/b in both solo q and competitive play LUL.

The steam life1 votes

no her w used to pick up three spheres so you could ult easier now you really need to prepare

ZaneShadow1 votes

So yes and no.
Yes chogath needs to get fixed. I'm just hopping to see his early game nerfed to extend the time it takes him to come online. No, Ekko and Xerath do need changes. Yes, they do not need solid buffs but a change to enable a champions to work in pros and lo Elo. Every champion should be able to grow with the player to whatever rank, even to pro.

TálØnly1 votes

Syndra is still strong af and she is still picked in pro play. Riot did a good job on her.

Sexy Jack Rabbit1 votes

Syndra's spike in win and ban rate was just the result of buffs though. It was the rework they did to her passive.

VelvetCrotch1 votes

Yep, feels like cho is the new syndra with more cc and about 4000 hp more :^)

Aeszarck1 votes

Syndra got one set of buffs on her W and E ratios, then got a set of beneficial bug fixes. She was not "getting so many buffs last season." Her ban rate jumped to insanity, but her winrate just went from a measly 46% to just above 50%. She didn't even touch 51%. I think you're overexaggerating a bit.

Her W's Transcendent upgrade was changed, it lost base damage and some of its AP ratio, and later it lost some of its area of effect. The nerfs were harsh but the spell still feels decent. Her R... got a higher cooldown. "Nerfed like hell" is a clear overexaggeration.
