Perhaps the answer for Karthus isn't with his ult?

(Basically I'm reposting this since most my original was done at 2 in the morning lol)

Hear me out here. I've sort of moved on with all the QQing about Edge of Night and Karthus's ult (I may be a Karthus main, but at this point it's gonna be a big F~~~ You to most if not all mages, and it MIGHT just get nerfed since it's on PBE you know.). So I've decided to take a look at the OTHER item that's gonna prove to be a major pain for Karthus in the future, which is Redemption.

For those who haven't seen it yet, Redemption is a new item that grants Health, Health and Mana regen, CDR, and an active that is basically an AoE Soraka and Karthus ult put together. Also one more important feature, is that you can use it WHILE DEAD. This basically means that EVEN IF as Karthus, if you take out the Support or whoever buys this item FIRST, die and go into passive, and either Ult or do enough damage otherwise to kill an opponent, you'd STILL get hit with the "LOLNOPE" button by whoever has the item EVEN IF THEY ARE DEAD. It creates an irritating situation where it would feel like Karthus's Passive is now useless because of it.

So here's a couple of different ideas I came up with:

  • Keep his Passive at 7 seconds, but make it so you get an extra second of passive for every 150-200 AP you have as Karthus

  • Make his Passive Scale with his Health perhaps?

  • add some sort of stacking feature that for every 50-100 stacks he gets an extra 2 seconds or something, where you get a stack whenever Karthus kills a minion. (Helps reinforce Karthus being a power-farmer since he's considered a Hyper-Carry as well as a Battle Mage)

People say his damages are sub-par compared to the rest of the mages but that's kinda the point. He's considered a Battle-Mage because his damage is sustained, but unlike the rest of the battle mages he doesn't necessarily need to be as tanky BECAUSE he has his after-death passive. Other Possible Changes that might work? Here are some of my options:

  • Increase the range on his Q to about 950 (Current is 875)

  • Add the "Grounded" debuff to his W, or instead of MR shred, make it so enemies take increased damage like Abyssal (which would slowly increase with rank)

  • Increase E Damage

  • Thoughts? Concerns? Please leave feedback!

Person you are ulting should be low enough that you can kill them even if they have a heal. Ult already does 900+ damage, person u trying to kill should be around 200-300 since you lowered their health with a couple Q's.

His passive is fine right now, 7 seconds is more than enough time to avenge yourself.

His E doesn't need a damage increase, it's just to add a little more DPS to his kit. If you buff it then his Q should be severely nerfed since it already kills ppl in like 2 hits.

He doesn't even rely on his ult to kill people, it should only be used to catch people running away. Keep in mind Redemption also has a certain range to it, so it's less likely someone is going to be saved in laning.
