I literally cannot play this game anymore

Daxanater··111 votes·6,765 views

No no no, this isn't me about quitting the game. Let me explain.

I decided to quit ranked because of the bull shit matches I'm going against, I'm getting gold 5's, silvers on my team including myself (gold 5) and I'm going against gold 2s or even plat 5's.

Why is this? I have no fucking clue, so I decided to stop ranked until riot makes some fixes to the match making. (fyi, this isn't me complaining that I can't climb)

Now lately I've decided to do some normals and recently I have been getting the same exact thing thats happening in ranked. I have silvers, unrankeds or bronze players on my team but I'm totally fine about that.

What I'm not fine about that those silver, bronze and unranked players are going against high golds, plats or even diamonds.

I mean who in the hell designed this match making, I literally cannot play a game of league of legends right now, and I know some of you are gonna say "Play aram or wait for rotation gamemodes"

Sorry but rift is where I really belong, I find aram boring and one sided and constantly playing gamemodes that I may or may not like will get boring after awhile. Overall, riot when are you going to fix match making... this shit should be your top priority instead of reworking or making champions.

Edit: Instead of down voting me, try to explain to me why I shouldn't have a problem with this. Also here's a link to dominate reacting to his matchup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2k8WKnsp9M

Edit 2: I got some of you triggered by the title so here I am to fix it, I cannot play a game of league of legends. You're literally fucking welcome

I literally cannot play a game of league of legends right now,

That's not literally. Literally would be if your computer was broken, or the League launcher refused to open up. This is figuratively because you CAN play a game of League. It's just your choice not to.

Came expecting to find someone else triggered by the title. Was not disappointed.

I was just about to rush down here and make that comment. Warms my heart to see someone already taking care of it C:

Does it make you feel better to need to come into a thread just to point that out and completely say nothing about the topic at least with the comment?

I get it, saying "literally" when it isn't literally urks me to, but really?

Yes, really. I don't care about the topic enough to discuss it. I do care that he's making a mistake. Mistakes should be corrected.

Yes, really. I don't care about the topic enough to discuss it. I do care that he's making a mistake. Mistakes should be corrected.

So you have nothing better to do than to prove my point ("mistyped" on purpose to see if you'd yet again try to be a "cool guy" and correct me, which sadly you did) and basically be a troll.

Also says a lot about you (not in a good way) that you feel the need to "correct" mistakes like that. It doesn't make you cool, and it is mostly just rude ignoring the topic to act like a troll. You can down vote me again, but the truth is the truth.

Narasimha6 votes

If I wanted to be 'cool', I'd make a thread complaining about Duo Queue. Seems to be the best way to gain popularity without resorting to gif spamming. As it stands, I have absolutely minimal interest in what you or other people think.

As you've said, the truth is the truth. And a mistake is a mistake. Just as one should not accept a lie in place of the truth, one should not idly accept a mistake either. If you can correct it, you should.

According to some dictionaries now, literally literally doesn't mean literally anymore.

"Maybe they move resources from banning tyler1 to fixing matchmaking" Because that's totally how that works.

KillerKell10 votes

Not to mention... it was a worthy ban.

No clue why people defend Toxicity.

No clue why we should priority toxicity over matchmaking/balance.

No clue why we should priority toxicity over matchmaking/balance.

If you think the guys looking for Toxic Behavior and the ones Coding the game are the same people... you're sadly mistaken.

These are two separate resources.

It's like saying "I'm not sure why we don't just use Chicken Noodle Soup to run our Car when Gas Prices are high!"... it's because CNS, as tasty as it is, won't run your car. And the Intern parsing through hours and hours of videos looking for Toxic Behavior doesn't no jack crap about how to Code or fix complex Matrixes.

Now, if you want to say Riot should allocate more resources to fixing these issues... cool. And if it showed that they make more money by doing so, they would. It's called a Business Model, and they are following it. Getting rid of Toxic Behavior, especially Toxic Behavior being SUPPORTED by a minority of the Community goes much further in keeping Dollars rolling in as New Blood is brought to the game (remember, not only Players, but also now New VIEWERS who may be turned off by such brash antics as Tyler1, and of course Advertisers who detest such things).

In other words, Match Making IS important. And some one, some where, is working on figuring out how to fix it. And some one else, in another department, is starting to get rid of 'black eyes' that could hurt League moving FORWARD as far as Media and Advertising goes... because no New Player is going to want to get excited about starting League and maybe living the Dream of 'Going Pro' if he's running into Tyler's, ESPECIALLY if those Tyler's are being SUPPORTED by some of the Community.

At the end of the day, New Players MATTER. Because League, from an Industry stand point NEEDS the next Faker. It's going Main Stream... and like Oscar Robertson to Pistol Pete to Magic Johnson to Michael Jordan to Kobe Bryant to LeBron James to now, League needs New Stars in the FUTURE. They can't have people like Tyler, and a Toxic Community, running those future stars off before they ascend.

Because Advertisers want Viewers, and Viewers want Stars.

So is Match Making a consideration? Yes. And there are people dedicated to that. It's not easy, every work on a Matrix? A Real Time Matrix with moving parts?

But you also have to look BIG PICTURE as ESports, of which LoL is currently KING, is moving forward to a more Main Stream Consumption.

Oh yeah, this game is broken when it comes to that. The teams are never even, always a one sided game. Always a team with 2 noobs vs players with significantly higher skill bc the match making rank calculations in this game are broken.

Your last ranked game (source: op.gg)

YOUR TEAM (division - MMR) [you] gold 5 - 1434 1 silver 1 - 1601 2 gold 4 - 1572 3 gold 5 - 1589 4 gold 1 - 1576 THEIR TEAM 1 gold 3 - 1503 2 gold 4 - 1518 3 gold 2 - 1373 4 gold 5 - 1500 5 gold 4 - 1539

AVG YOU: 1554 THEM: 1487

  1. looks like you're ignoring the fact you had a GOLD 1 on YOUR team
  2. that gold 2's elo is lower than yours.

S6 matchmaking has been broken mostly due to role selection and dynamic queue imo. It's hard to have a large enough player base to offer that with reasonable queue times. If they ditched DQ and just had SQ (the only valid competitive mode imo), they could probably have way better matchmaking and more even games while also shorter queue times. JUST KILL YOUR STUPID UNWANTED EXPERIMENT RIOT AND SAVE YOUR GAME! Ever heard of the SUNK COST FALLACY?

Well remember that your normals MMR and ranked MMR are separate. I am high diamond but literally never play normals, so I go against much lower skilled people. I basically play a normal every 2 weeks or so to farm chests on champs i dont usually play and get S ranks against bad players.

Its more likely that the diamond people have bad normal mmr then you having some crazy high mmr.

Smileyface2 votes

I can agree with you--- but the ELO in my games is WAY TOO LOW.

As a support main, it's really hard to carry my team when I get people who have played ranked twice in total.

Recently, I've gotten someone who went Kindred ADC and fed the shit out of my lane, to the point where basically I can't even try to save them.

RIOT FIX UR SHIT

Xx420n0sc0p3sxX2 votes

You have a 67% winrate, your ranked mmr will be higher than normal, which will cause what is happening to you.

Additionally, your ranked mmr/rank has next to nothing to do with match making in norms

A little Peepo2 votes

Dynamic queue that's why.

PbJMpP4xzk2 votes

w-e the peoples here will try to explain you, desite how your case is simple, just keep one thing in mind ... less and less solo player are going into ranked queue and i would say the same for normals queues also which creat a big gap between mmr of the matchmaking otherwise the time queue would go super high if you had to wait for a close to your mmr matchmaking so yeah that happen basicaly because soloQ is gone so you can thanks riot once again.

oh yeah and i almost forgot that video with iwilldominated explain very proprely why ranked is meaningless right now so i laugh at anyone who think he did some progress as a player during season 6 ... no you did not improve or anything you just lost ur time

MagicFlyingLlama1 votes

I have never seen a diamond or plat player on summoners rift, not even once, and i have been high silver/low gold for nearly four years.

This sounds like exaggeration, unless you are playing with premades with much higher-ranked people?

Daxanater3 votes

I'm not talking for the past league of legends, I'm speaking season 6 right now. In the past I have to agree I've never seen any in normals.

Hatsuma1 votes

I'm currently Bronze 3 and I went up against a Diamond 5 in normals last week (http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2178295604/390396?tab=overview) (the lee sin) [zombie-brand-mindblown]

RG Velean2 votes

Because of the seperate MMR ladder for normals from ranked. If he doesn't play a lot of normals or likes to just mess around in normals, he will have a much lower normal MMR than his ranked MMR.

Flying Eggplant2 votes

Also if he premade with a very low MMR player it's easily possible to match up against other bronzies. I have a couple of diamond friends who will que with me and a few other silvers to lower the overall MMR of the match so they can farm chests easier lol

Daxanater2 votes

Also I'm not exaggerating at all or playing with premades

Dediguise1 votes

I see plats and diamonds all the time in normals. Which basically means that my normal MMr is really high

Your normal mmr inflates with the number of games you play, unlike ranked, so even a negative winrate can increase your mmr. At least that's what I was told a few years ago

yay nibbers1 votes

Not sure about normals because mmr can be weird there, but if you're going againt high gold and plat in ranked then you should feel good, the system thinks you're playing at that level and is matching you accordingly. It means you're doing well!

Not sure about normals because mmr can be weird there, but if you're going againt high gold and plat in ranked then you should feel good, the system thinks you're playing at that level and is matching you accordingly. It means you're doing well!

But you can't feel good, because you are still in gold regardless of if it matches you against challenger. You could play aaginst nothing but LCS players and be in gold and that's that. Because the system handles the difference between high MMR and whatever meh IP gains and loses completely differently.

You could gain a VERY large amount of MMR over a span of time, and still barely raise of a single division because of the gating on LP gains and so on. One loss also will knock you further down because, sure, your MMR would barely be scratched, but the LP system says "oh, well they were better than your current division and you lose, so you clearly don't belong playing against them. -19 lp). It sounds good to say what you did, but in reality the two systems clash so much that you can't feel good about "being gold going against plat" because you are still stuck in gold, and the judgement of the LP system is much harsher than the judgement of the MMR system. Especially considering the LP system is arbitrary "shininess" at best.

It pisses me off when people misuse the word "literally".

If you "literally" cant play LoL that means you broke your computer or your arm's been cut off.

Dictionaries don't define a static meaning of words, rather than the usage of words resulting in their dictionary definition, and dictionaries today include this usage of the word.

Plenty of words have meanings shifted drastically from their etymology, but because you don't know enough about the history of language and are unable to spot such words because you don't know any root languages of English, you chastise people for using language as a means of communication rather than a elitist game.

I've gotten low plats, bronze, and unranked players in my ranked game before, I'm S1 right now.

I'm not even_ allowed_ to q with plat players in ranked.

Red Wreckage1 votes

I had an unranked annie for ADC(2-6 ranked wins, 1 - 10 - 3 KDA), a bronze 3 sona support with no keystone(0 - 6 - 0.5 KDA), and a troll AP rengar mid(14 lose streak) in one of my Silver 3 games. I think I got demoted after losing that game. I really couldn't understand how these 3 could've ended up on my team all at the same time. I get 16-17 Lp from wins but my MMR can't be this damn shitty. enemy took both nexus turrets by 14 minutes I think in that game. :|

Red Silk1 votes

B3, playing against low gold, high silver almost every other game ;-;

LordGeovanni1 votes

Its obviously because they don't have enough played playing the game mode at the same time to make everyone strictly gold so they take silver players with gold Mmr and plat players with gold Mmr and match them together people are too quick to see colors and get judgemental and and tilt themselves rather than thinking of a way to out play enemies and play with teammates. alot of the game is skill but people discount luck. luck factors in when you get premades on your team vs the other team. Luck factors in when the enemy gets an afk or your team does. Luck factors in when you get allies willing to play together and listen to strategy allies who just push mid and allies who btch and complain. All of these factors can have a person a higher or lower rank than yours but the MMR range can be the close.
