I Think it was a good thing to rework kayle however what's this armor ?

Does Riot refuses to use occidental style medievalo fantastic armors because it isn't a trend anymore or because tencent doesn't want occidental medievalo - fantastic culture to be the face of the game anymore ?

Is it Because super heroes are more trendy ?

I mean look at kayle's armor design compared to the old one...

She seems more like a super hero than a knight fighting for justice...

In fact she looks exactly like a kind of female galio.

Can't riot just bring back its classical armor designs from the past instead of making some ugly futuristic things ?

Just look at her armor it doesn't cover the entire body... No logics at all compared to the previous design.

They could just make a new design and keep the plate armor concept...

Or, alternatively, assume Riot's goal wasn't to sexualize Kayle (which it wasn't), think about this.

She is still heavily armoured on her shoulders, legs, and wears her helmet most of the time. The only placethat isnt is her torso, although it is still somewhat armored.

Now, think of what perspective you will see her from in game. You wont see her up front, you'll see her from the top down. You'll barely even see the parts that arent armored, and thats intentional. Why put in the extra work, time, and money to create models for things that are barely going to be seen in game.

Let's talk about Braum then (or any other champion that's fighting others but is clearly 'underarmored'). That's right, champions are supposed to look cool and unique, they're not real and real world rules don't apply to them.

It looks cool and she's a seraphim. Not only that but she gets her old armor back the longer the game goes basically.

The only reason for this change from my perspective is to better show her connection to Targon and the whole celestial thing with the aspects. While I loved her old armor (and I find the new one completely unoriginal), it actually makes sense in the current lore setting.

What would be cool is if they made a new "Traditional" skin which would represent old Kayle's armour. Doubt they planned one, but if people really liked her old armor and her popularity rises, she may get something similar.
