Non bruisers top lane.

I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to Azir top. He's my best champ and I want to be able to play him somewhere else besides mid. What do you guys think about sending non-bruisers to the top lane.

Liss?

Riot hates Azir.So they overnerfed Azir.But Liss? Still viable for top and mid lane.

It's not a question of Azir's balance state, it's whether the strengths that he offers (unparalleled AoE lategame damage) are a good fit for toplane. Lissandra works in mid because of her good waveclear and top because of her relative tankiness and strong initiation. What lanes a champion works in is a function of the diversity of their strengths, not the intensity. Kayle can be played in every position and every lane, Ahri really only works mid lane. Doesn't mean that Kayle is stronger than Ahri is.

Azir was good for top lane previously.But now? No.Also yes this is question of Azir's balance state.

Liss works everywhere because she took a lot buffs and still very strong.

Azir's balance state is how he compares to other people in the same lane. What lanes he works in isn't generally a function of his balance state; it's a function of his kit. Azir offers moderate disengage and a lot of damage with gold: the only places where those things are valuable are in mid lane. Lissandra offers moderate damage and a whole lot of hard CC: those things are useful in both top and mid. Even in metas where Azir is incredibly strong, he's still almost exclusively played midlane. His strengths, no matter how intense, aren't useful anywhere else.

Moderate damage and Liss? Hahahaha.Burst and moderate? So your argument isn't true.Also before 5.14 patch nerfs Azir was good top lane.As isn't good for a champion especially for Azir.

Azir was good previously for top lane because his damage was burst.

Lissandra does have a burst pattern, but she's no Annie. An Annie with 500 AP will do 2260 damage to a target with no MR (assuming she only gets one tick of Tibbers' aura), while a 500 AP Lissandra will do 1695 damage to that same target (assuming she uses her claw to engage).

Azir top works in the same kind of circumstances as Vayne top. When the champion is objectively strong, you can sometimes force a square peg into a round hole. That doesn't mean that they're a good top laner, though; it means that they're powerful enough to enforce the midlane (or botlane) meta onto toplane.

That aside, this isn't about Lissandra, it's about Azir. When Azir is good in toplane, it's because his numbers are good enough that he could work anywhere. He is not actually a toplaner. I'm tired of trying to parse your inane replies; have a nice day.

Azir's not great for top, since he's vulnerable to lane bullies and dives, both of which are frequent in toplane. If you're gonna put Azir somewhere else, I'd do Azir in the marksman position with an ADC in mid, top, or jungle.

I have never thought of this. I tried him support but his mana costs are way too high. I think I'll test him as a replacement for an ADC the next time I get on.

I like this idea. I used to build him tanky a lot before and it works but his powerspike come later. Might work better top since we should already have an APC mid. Good idea.

You're basically telling me not to play League until I hit Diamond. I don't enjoy playing other champions as much as I enjoy playing him. I can't imagine playing this game without being able to play him.

Besides, he's the only champion I have a high win rate with playing more than 5 games. I can only dream of doing this with other champs. He's the only champ I can go in a game with and be almost 100% certain I'm gonna get fed or at least not feed my ass off. I just don't have that level of confidence in any other champ I play.

I think a slightly tankier build would do the trick though. item 3027 or item 3116 maybe (after your core items I suppose). Holding early-mid game could probably be easier with 2 doran's rings
