better pretend she is balanced because she is "squishy" with a self zhonya and another zhonya and complain about zed

She's in a good spot because a lot of the mana using mid lanners are still in a bad spot.

There's a reason she didn't get the same mp/5 and mp/5 growth as everyone else.

IMO it's an example of what Riot needs to do with the other champions. Give mana refunds build into kits in unique ways. This way each champion can be balanced around their mana needs.

Karthus/Swain were hardly touched by the mana changes. But they're still on the weaker end for other reasons.

Xerath has mana sustain and is often considered overpowered.

She's strong in the LCS because she is a safe AP user in the mid lane. She's honestly always been a strong champion. But she was weak in the S4 siege meta as her CD's are harsh to have to use to CS/waveclear.

if your good spot means pretty much 100% p/b in competitive and if that seems balanced to you then i guess you dont even play this game

Good spot as in her kit works and isn't heavily restricted by mana costs(even though her costs are high).

She is a very well deigned champion. And a good example for Riot to follow for other champions who are struggling to make things work with the mana changes.

She has two big weaknesses.

  • She has to get in close range to be of the most range in a teamfight. She has her ult to help her with this, but that doesn't stop someone from landing the perfect CC as soon as she pops in and blowing her up.
  • She has short ranges on her abilities. Overall relying on her Q to do any worthwhile poke. Her E is delayed and risky to use for anything but the mobility because of the CD.

Xerath is currently only the strong mid lanner who can face her and come ahead or equal. But she has enough mobility and CC to lock him down and kill him anyway. One good gank from the jungler and she wins. Has enough lock down to ensure the kill.

She's decent, but kinda generic.

I think it's more useful to see how she came to be this way rather than just nerfing her outright.

Because she's stronger than the other picks?

I wouldnt call her late game damage 'insane'.

She actually falls off a fair bit late game, shes strongest mid game.

Liss has only been nerfed since her release. She's been played top before. Now since the pros are winning with her she's become too powerful...

She's fine as is.

She was always this way. The issue is that most top laners are melee and DPS. With her Q she's can harass as long as she can keep mana. If you're in the middle of the minion wave, you are almost always guaranteed to get hit by it.

I think it's more due to the fact that a lot of other mages have difficulty with the mana regen changes, but Lissandra doesn't have it nearly as bad due to her passive.

Also she does pretty well against all the assassins that have replaced mages in mid lane because of said nerfs

She also has Targeted Hard CC in her ult ( and her W, although its not hard CC it is PBAOE ) for mobility (i.e kalista)

So I guess she fits the meta well?

I would a agree here. I think she's in a pretty good place. you still have to choose between wave clear and engaging with your spells, you pretty much only have mana to do one or the other.

Meanwhile Orianna has been played in WorldscFinals every season

And Orianna has received tons of criticism for being amazingly strong for so long

I think her power in the LCS is mostly a combination of things. She's not hindered as badly by the terrible mana regen items out there right now. She's very safe in lane. She has a strong kit for engaging/disengaging/locking people down. She's a playmaker and sets up her team, which is VERY strong in LCS teams and pretty meh in solo queue. She's also very good against a lot of the champs that are strong in the meta right now.

Does she need a nerf? Eh, I'd say no. I'd say other mages need a BUFF to assert themselves again. She's just one of the only mages who's still allowed to play the game and the newest midlaner to roam top and abuse melee champs. If she's nerfed it'll be Kennen or Vlad or Ryze... again. The answer isn't "Nerf Liss" it's "why is Liss dominating and can we fix other lanes/champs a bit to correct it".
