Not odd at all. Nasus as an early game, although weakest early game, is the hardest to deal with. It involves freezing lane as close to your tower as possible, harassing Nasus when he tries to stack, and jungler ganking to get you ahead so you're scaling faster than he is.
However that is harder than you expect it to be sometimes. Because if Nasus gets no pressure from your jungler, eventually he'll be able to stack no matter what you do, and eventually will outscale you in your jungler does nothing to force Nasus to the defensive. It's the issue I find alot where top lane is literally an island some junglers forget exists until you have a Nasus that is suddenly all inning under tower, getting a kill, still at full health and suddenly 1v3ing without problem and top laner gets blamed for feeding Nasus.
Nasus ends games quickly. He relies on scaling quickly and overwhelming his opponent becoming a raid boss that demands an entire team to respond to, leaving the enemy adc alone to scale, and at this point, usually he can 2 or 3v1 if it gets to the point the entire team has to respond to him at base.
If a game lasts a long time, that means Nasus is under control, and is being effectively zoned, and out scaled long enough for carries to get to the point they can take down Nasus quickly, and his vault of health is not a huge concern.
So yeah Nasus is a late game Juggernaut, but the catch is, he needs to get there before anyone else hits late game or team comps can, and will cc him to death.
