It's 10 minutes. My top lane is 0-4-1. My bottom lane is 1-12-0. This is not okay in ranked.

When the fuck is performance going to be factored into ranked? Every single game is like this, for one team or the other, and this is not okay.

EDIT: Yet another game where my entire team is feeding, yet I'm penalized as harshly as they are because I was unfortunate enough to have them on my team. http://i.imgur.com/J4JZ6vB.jpg

EDIT: And again. Bottom lane had 28 deaths at 34 minutes. http://i.imgur.com/aCgUBzq.jpg

EDIT: And once again. Top fed so badly that I couldn't even attempt to help. Bottom would have fed, but I babysat it. http://i.imgur.com/EQlxKRi.jpg

EDIT: And again. Top and bottom fed the enemy team to the point Yi was just ulting and killing me under turrets. http://i.imgur.com/dRuYZWU.jpg

EDIT: 0-11-1 top lane, jungle is AFK at the fountain. http://i.imgur.com/3CIlgkg.jpg

-20 LP in a 22 minute game where my top lane's Yasuo did 3000 damage, less than our Thresh. And he's not penalized at all for performing like shit.

Irelia Bot1 votes

Well it is Thresh so.

Divine Winds1 votes

do you realise 3000 damage is literally equal to 45 base ad + ad runes autos on a champion?

Irelia Bot1 votes

Yeah but the 65/95/125/155/185 (+40% Ability Power) on hit really adds up.

Divine Winds1 votes

What im saying is that yasuo is a damage dealer, unlike thresh (who should be building support). Just simply trading in lane multiple times can out damage thresh.

Yas also only has one very situational CC. So if he's being CC'd, Poked, and then left behind as the enemy retreats to safety he will not be able to do damage. That's not entirely on him.

Dude this guy is plat 3 you cant use the same answer to justify someones performance in each elo. By the time someone is plat they should know how to prevent far more mistakes than a sliver or bronze player which is why these one sided matches are not okay we need more longer satisfying matches. Not 17 - 20 min stomps each game its NOT okay.

When you play every single game it matches you up for, yes, its reasonable your team is having a bad game 10 out of 10 times. Because everyone who plays this game sucks... So yes, if you don't pick and choose which matches to play and avoid the ones with very low odds of success and play the ones with very high odds of success... You wind up with a lot of the types of games you find yourself in.

You CHOOSE to play with idiots even when they make it dead apparent in lobby that they are indeed idiots. Then you wonder why they acted like idiots in game too...

Come on bruh....

When you identify an idiotic useless chimp of a player DON'T play with them... How hard is that?

Who has you believing this misinformation?

I've dodged 30 games in a row just to test how high the dodge timers get for ranked. No. You never, ever, ever have EVER been punished for dodges EXCEPT in season 1 and 2 when it cost elo to dodge. Now it costs nothing, just LP (which is meaningless since MMR is all that matters) and time.

Rid yourself of this crazy delusion that dodges are penalized in some way. They are not.

In the long run, yes. You shouldn't have to play thousands of games before it averages out.

What's the alternative? Enforce strict LP losses to people who don't meet arbitrary quotas for their role? Ban bad players? Forgive LP losses for losing players if they had a good personal performance? That's all ludicrous.

This is a game, after all. Strict and personalized evaluations of who is "worthy" of playing it, even in ranked, is insane. And an automated way of weeding out the unworthy is even nuttier. Fact is, bad players will show up in your ranked matches. Fortunately, they'll be spawning on the other side of the Rift just about 50% of the time.

Increase/decrease LP + MMR loss for performing like shit in the early game or weigh the first 10 deaths. The problem is 100% players who need to be severely ahead to compensate for their lack of skill. They either get fed or feed within the first 10 minutes.

Off the top of my head, this would incentivize malicious ganks on weak enemies to drive their score down and compound their punishment for their loss. Plus, it would create a devastatingly tricky sub-game of evaluating one's own score versus the need of the team.

A couple examples for you:

I'm Nautilus top, intending on being our team's tank. The enemy top is better than me, and I have started off the game 0-3. A team fight breaks out, and I know I'm pretty weak. Do i still do my Nautilus duty of tanking for as long as possible and CCing the enemy team, knowing that I'll likely die in pursuit of a hopefully-but-not-necessarily advantageous team fight? Or do I stay on the perimeter and just hope to get carried?

I'm a jungle Hecarim, and I'm off to a great 4-0-2 start. I'm confident that I can dive anybody successfully. Our top laner is kicking ass, and the enemy Garen is 0-2-0. I'm a bit of a jerk, so I dive Garen three times in a row to drive him down to 0-5 to see if I can get him demoted.

I'm a support Bard. I know I kick ass at my role. Unfortunately, my ADC is garbage, and has died multiple times while baiting me into dying as well. I feel forced to abandon him or even to semi-AFK in a bush, because continuing to play my role in earnest, a role that I know I'm skillful at, could earn me a hefty MMR penalty.

I'm a shitty top Darius. I'm getting outplayed and camped, and have started the game off 1-5. I spot my lane opponent at 20% health. I know that the best thing I can do for my team is to try to get a kill here, since if I get outplayed I'm not worth much gold, but alternatively I could earn a shutdown bonus and recover quite a bit in my lane. However, I elect not to try for a good engage, because if I do manage to die again, I risk ruining my MMR by failing in lane.

The point is to limit it to the first N kills or time and average it over a lot of games (or just losses). You might get camped very rarely, but nobody is getting camped and dived in every single one of their losses. By the time team fights are happening, what you do shouldn't matter anymore.

In the case of support, the same thing applies. Even if your ADC sucks, you yourself shouldn't be constantly dying.

Jo0o2 votes

And now we're back to the simple point that people with a history of poor performances get demoted. I don't see you personally caring about people's history; you just care about the fact that they had a terrible game while on your team. But that's never going to be punished by anything more than a game's worth of LP loss.

When it's as bad as it is right now, it doesn't matter. Games are 100% luck on what you get for your team mates, with most games being clearly over before 10 minutes because two lanes on one team are feeding.

Your individual performance doesn't matter. If you go feast or famine, you're probably shit at the game, but that doesn't reflect.

Everyone has bad games, you have bad games too. In fact, from your Op.gg i can see you have bad games like everyone else, you need to stop looking at others and look at what you can do better.

Except no, not really. The fact you think you can see 'bad games' from score shows you have no idea what you're talking about. If I'm 2-0 at mid and the enemy team has a 10-0 Kha'zix, I can't do anything to stop it from 100 to 0'ing me under my tower, and this is what happens in 9/10 losses.

The trick is how to evaluate performance in a way that doesn't create more problems. You'd be just as upset with teammates that didn't even try to defend because they thought they'd die and mess up their KDA. Sometimes the best plays that come at the cost of your stat line.

Are you REALLY going to sit there and tell me you feel as if a composition with only one real front line unit, a Lee Sin for a support, and a terrible gimp pick Kayle in top lane that deprives the team of another front line unit with CC (and who btw, is so hard countered by Taric ults in fights its crazy) was a composition that SHOULD have beaten a REAL team composition with proper balance in all regards?

Why do you play these matches and why did you pick a champion that FURTHER hurt your teams chances at winning the game?

Regardless of how your bottom plays in this match you aren't going to win it. The ONLY chance you have is to snowball to a 15-3 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game and your jungler was FAR more concerned with power farming the jungle than with doing his actual job creating leads in lane from the most abusive and dominant role in the game right now.

But yeah... you expect to win that type of match with those types of players and with that type of composition which you only made WORSE by picking what you picked. You literally could not stack the deck MORE against yourself Yenn. You literally could not. Its like you ENJOY the process of putting yourself in hopeless situations and then whining about how hopeless it is...

No, we all expect Riot to fix it. We've been expecting that for 5 years. It just never happens. I'm pretty sure 5 years is long enough to establish a pattern and a track record for the actions Riot will take.

Which is to say that under no circumstances, ever, at any point in time, will Riot ever make the correct decisions regarding any single aspect of this game from now until the end time itself.

Expecting Riot to act responsibly and appropriately when they have proven time and again they DO NOT CARE ABOUT ACTING RIGHT, MORAL, OR APPROPRIATE AS A COMPANY is just insane. This is a shit company and the quality of their product is shit for that reason.

You were NEVER winning that match. Ever. Not under any circumstances. I could have been your jungler and you would still have lost that match, even I can't carry 4 players who make those picks and play that poorly. The difference between you and me is that YOU TRIED and failed. I know enough to know that Clearlove would fail to win that game as a jungler 999 times out of 1000. If you aren't playing to rank up, then by all means play the match and enjoy it and learn something from it. If you are making a serious attempt to climb that is a match you would never, ever, ever play.

I was also 8-3-8 and first pick.

And you blind picked Kayle, gimping the team comp from the first pick on. That actually makes it worse. There is never a reason to pick Kayle top lane except as a direct counter in the current meta as this only hampers the chances of winning the game when more effective blind pick tops are available that fit better into any and all compositions: Gnar Poppy Jayce Kennen are all superior first picks with less drawbacks and a higher chance for success. You gimped yourself as well as your team and then complained about the fact you gimped yourself.

I, and everyone else, has to question why exactly it is that you do this day in and day out.

How silly do you want to be?

That bot lane was auto loss. Period. There is zero chance of your bot lane every going even let alone winning that lane, then the opposing team focused on that lane, even bringing fiora down for the free kills (as she should have done, as any moderately intelligent player would do) in addition to J4. The opposing team picked better. Communicated better. Played better. And you were a complete non factor in the game 10 minutes in. Not only were you a non factor, you had allowed your lane to roam and provide assistance for a net positive gain for his team meaning you were actually a DETRIMENT to your team for the first 10 minutes of the game as you lost lane control and pressure and that spilled over into other portions of the map.

And why did this happen? It was destined to. Because of the picks on both teams that made it an obvious easy win if the opposing team focused bot lane early and you didn't TP in to stop it. There is NOTHING your other 4 could do the opposing team bot/mid/jungle for the first 10 minutes of the game and that's exactly how it worked out. And this is on top of you playing in a lane you SHOULD have had a slight advantage in and ended up LOSING any ways despite the inherent lane advantage.

Your team never had a chance that game and you helped put the nail in that coffin.

There are no ifs, ands, or buts about this Yenn...

You cannot debate it, argue against it, or deny the truth in any way. The reality of the situation is the reality of it and its exactly as I laid it out for you. That game was auto loss because your entire team was outclassed strategically in lobby and because you lack team organization/communication skills that might have allowed you to formulate a counter strategy. Instead you sat there and allowed the team to pick themselves into an auto loss and you went right ahead and dove into that auto loss with them, full speed ahead.

Literally your ONLY hope of EVER winning that match was if you had 3 challenger players on your team and if two of them had been in your bot lane. This is the ONLY way your bot lane doesn't get roflstomped in the first 10 minutes and cause an opposing team snowball to high heaven. And even THEN its not a good chance to win, that just means you have a SHOT instead of zero chance at all. That's how stacked against you the deck is JUST IN THE LOBBY for that match. If you choose to play with idiots who hurt your chances to win you have no one to blame but yourself if you play and fail to win.

Period.

You can be right 10,000% about the ranking system being broken.

But it has NOTHING at all to do with YOUR ranking. None. What so ever. Your rank is what it is and you lose the games you lose because of your own failures at comprehending this game on a strategic level.

In this response: Bronze player back talks 4 time diamond and one time Master Tier player by using false and idiotic statements that prove his ignorance.

How you gonna split push and win when the enemy team is strong enough off of snowballing to always send 2 to stop you because the OTHER 3 on that team can 3v4 and win without losing a single champ? Sheez, the incompetence of some people in terms of how games unfold at a strategic level is just astounding.

Is there really something hard to understand that in a game where YOU don't personally assure each of your naturally disadvantaged lanes a lead that those natural and inherent disadvantages will stack up to a point of an unstoppable snowball?

Its like you folks think picking 5 supports on a team in a mid plat game is LIKELY to be a fair match with an even chance for both teams to win. Is literally the silliest and most ludicrous thing I have ever heard in my entire life about anything, ever.

It's also funny how you think that a team of 4 can't just waveclear if they know that they can't fight that team of 3 without getting two of them.

Snowball may be extreme, but making one mistake can easily turn it around.

You've never been AT the half way point of the ladder, let alone above it. You've never been better than a below average player.

But you want to argue with a player who has been a top 1% player for 5 years straight.

You are still wrong about how you can be extremely disadvantaged by picking a champion. You just have to adapt. That's why there are so many one tricks out there. I'm absolutely sure they are better than you (the meta slave).

You literally just tried to tell me that you overcome the disadvantage of being a XinZhao top against a Darius by "adapting".

Are you fucking kidding?

You lose that lane as xin 100 times out of 100 unless you get jungler assistance OR you are DRAMATICALLY more skilled than every single player in the game (diamond player versus a bunch of silvers). Its literally one of the most unintelligible things any one has ever posted to the boards in the entire history of the boards.

No, some matchups are SO disadvantageous that you automatically lose or win the matchup provided the players are of similar or equal skill SIMPLY because of the MECHANICS of the champions and the KITS they have. Period. This is BASIC COMMON KNOWLEDGE THAT EVERY PLAYER HAS except, seemingly, you and Yenn.

If you are hard countered in a lane in a meta that is ENTIRELY focused on snowballing to win as it is the ONLY legitimate strategy in the game and has been for the last 14 months, then you have an EXTREMELY low chance of ever ending that game in a successful manner unless you get bailed out. Getting bailed out and carried is not the primary way to move up the ladder. Players who think this SHOULD be a way to climb the ladder are crazy. You should climb in ranking when your skills determine you are superior to the competition you have been facing. Does the current ranked system do this well? No. Has it ever? No. Will it ever? No. So complaining about the ineffective functionality of the system is a moot point and a truly silly action to take. There are ways you can USE your knowledge of the system's flaws to your own advantage and FAILING to do so is a FAILURE IN YOUR SKILL AS A STRATEGIST and you do not deserve to rank up if you fail in epic fashion at the skill of strategy in a strategy game.

This isn't fucking Call of Duty.

Your strategic decisions, from the lobby on, matter. Failure to APPRECIATE that they matter or be AWARE that they matter is a failure of your skill as a player. This failure in your skillset should hold you back.

This whole thread, all I see is the ranked system working as intended, preventing players who don't work as part of a team or who won't act like proper team mates from ranking up. Yenn didn't just get trolled by some of these picks in lobby, he actively chose to troll with his own picks and play as well. You don't get to rank up by trolling or playing with trolls. Its that fucking simple. How much would EVERYONE hate this game if trolling was even MORE rewarded than it already is?

Sheez, low level players. Zero sense.

I reached Silver 2 last season. That is, I believe 50% of the playerbase.

Holy shit, your mind is so freaking monotonous. You keep on repeating extreme fking cases instead of understanding my point. I even gave you a fking example to explain my point to your fking retarded brain. Will you FKING UNDERSTAND THAT ALL I FKING MEANT WAS THAT YOU COULD WIN THROUGH "STRATEGY", THE FKING WORD THAT YOU KEEP ON SPEWING AROUND TO TRY AND SHOW OFF YOUR 100 IQ. RETARD, PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU CAN WIN BY TRYING TO ADAPT.

FYI, EVEN IF YOU ARE IN SHITTY MATCHUP, YOU CAN JUST LANE SWAP, OR FARM IT OUT IN YOUR TURRET.

Matchmaking is flawed, and your logic is also flawed. People should not be held back based on circumstances they can't control. If you just pair the trolls with other trolls, that can easily fix the problem. Stop acting as if this isn't a problem just because you have a retarded "solution".

Sheez, egotistical retards. Zero brainpower.

Edit: Fk this thread, i'm not wasting my time on arguing with a monotonous retard that thinks he can't be disputed with because he wastes his time riding the meta and jumping the ladder. I'm just going to focus on getting new specs.

This is the only thing worth responding to since it highlights just how wrong you are about everything:

YOU as the PLAYER have the ability EVERY SINGLE LOBBY to choose whether or not you play a match that is trolled. It is 100% within the control of you as a player. 100%.

The issue isn't establishing arbitrary quotas that need to be met. The elephant in the room is how difficult it is to overcome snowballing right now. If one laner snowballs, it isn't up to their opponents to catch up, it's up to them to make a mistake.

Consequently, if you misplay once, it can end your entire lane against a competent opponent, and if the discrepancy in skill between any two given laners is vast enough, it means the entire game is in jeopardy for the losing laner.

Your team comp is inferior, and thus, you lose. Champ select determines the winner 95% of the time. Individual skill is generally meaningless in ranked. The system is flawed and always has been.

1-5 top lane, 0-12 bottom lane. Okay.

You're acting like a team with Yi should ever win

At least you finally posted a LEGITIMATE screen shot where your entire team wasn't trolling from the lobby on...

Yeah, that match sucks, the matchmaking for it sucked balls, it shouldn't happen, there is no excuse for the teammates you had in that game to be on your team. None.

1 game out of 4 presented as evidence is now valid. You may continue. Please make sure all other screen shots are valid examples of this phenomenon in the future.
