The Veigar changes do look more fun and interesting but...

It seems that Veigar is now going to do even worse against the super mobile champs that dominate the mid lane. Everyone just slides and jumps and have 10 second flashes as basic abilities, and there is going to now be a delay on his cage? I really do get the whole insta-stun for 2.5 seconds in a massive AoE is honestly unfair though. I may actually check out the PBE for this change just to maybe prove myself wrong. Been playing the little guy since release...man i'm old. I do like the new Q, it's the range increase i'm liking most of all. Will the missile speed increase? Will it still have a cast time? That would help him more than anything, getting rid of all his cast times. Maybe that's too op.

Actually I was curious about if there was a possibility of nerfing the AP bonus to his damage against other champs in exchange for doing bonus damage to manaless champions, like punishing them for being dumb. Cause manaless champions are dumb...salt truck plz.

Who's really mobile in mid other than zed, kass and Leblanc? They already counter him anyway. No one else in mid really has enough mobility to say that the veigar E change is great for their laning against him. He'll be fine. If anything he'll be better than those champs because now he has more range on them for farming and harass.

Katarina. Veigar was THE mid lane counter to Kat. Not anymore...she can just bait out the stun, Shunpo in...dead evil Yordle.

Well now he has poke to harass her and stay safe from her Q or E. Either way if she jumps on him he will outburst her with his QWR. Pretty sure his combo does way more than kat's at level 6, even after the ult ratio nerf.

Um...You will never...and I mean...NEVER...land a W now on Kat unless she's frickin' AFK. The only thing you have is a Q-R...and now that the Q is a skill shot...there's a good chance a good Kat will find a way for you to miss it.

Did you even read my full comment? IF SHE JUMPS ON YOU. No i don't mean a QEW combo from kat that barely does any damage. I'm talking about full all-in ultimate combo. Her ultimate channel is 2.5 seconds, veigar's W delay is 1.25s. He has plenty of time to either stun her or WQR or QWR her and retaliate. If you're a smart veigar you'll understand when kat is looking to be aggro or defensive. Her shunpo cd is a lot longer than your Q cd, so capitalize on that by farming from a safe distance or trying to harass past a low minion.

the delay is comparable to thresh's ults delay, you won't be able to instant stun them like you could "corner shot" people with thresh's box, but it'll still be a strong ability,

And any champion with a blink laughs at your pathetic stun and blinks out after it's up.

Honestly, I'd be more interested in it if it prevented mobility spells from getting out of it. No dashes, no blinks, you are honestly stuck in a cage. I think that would put some fear into the mobile champion roster.

The stun change alone will allow them to buff Veigar in other areas if needed. The way it works on Live makes it difficult to buff Veigar at all because you can just instant stun literally anyone and everyone if you are competent.

Veigar doesn't need new buffs— his abilities already provide plenty of damage when they are used correctly (W requires E to hit). Any other changes would likely fundamentally change Veigar. The proposed E delay greatly weakens his effectiveness against mobile champions; it is a necessary evil for him to survive in mid lane as an immobile burst mage. I'd rather have Veigar defined by his E cooldown than give him more CC or, God forbid, mobility.

If they don't do that for an ultimate ability coughCataclysmcough, they're sure as hell not going to put it on a regular ability.

The range increase is by 50. Not much. But Im slowly seeing the point of it, but Veigar is still getting nerfed more than buffed.

That's perfectly fine. Because the REAL issue has always been mobile assassins dominating midlane anyways!

"Veigar getting screwed by Assassins" has a lot less to do with Veigar and a lot more to do with the Assassins.

I don't understand why they don't make his cage act as a powerful slow and have his meteor stun. Suddenly Veigar stops being an insta-stun-into-death burst mage, and involves a bit more set-up and utility in his kit. If someone dives him, he can lay a meteor on himself and lay destruction upon his opponent. Removing the frustration of being unable to do anything against being sweet-spotted by his field and enabling skillful plays with meteor to make it more rewarding would make him a more compelling champion to play.

Stop it. Just stop. Your logical solution won't beat the blind anger towards the nerfs.

Making everything Veigar does easier to dodge without giving him anything useful in return or any way to make his stuff hit doesn't make him more rewarding. It makes him shit. If you get sweet-spotted, that's because the Veigar played well. But I guess only certain champions are allowed to be rewarded for good play. Everyone else has to just hope their opponents are brain dead.

If Veis Q projectile speed isn't any faster he has been nerfed. If its basically gotten the Rengar Bola treatment he should be ok.
