How do I beat a Riven community? Like seriously. Give me one way to beat a decent Riven.

Ban her, it's simple but people refuse to do it. If everyone started banning Riven, maybe Riot would finally nerf her.

depends on what champion you're playing

you generally want to abuse the window of time where she's used her full rotation and can't do it again because of cooldowns

yes

she'll usually use her q + aa combo and then e out. that's when you can retaliate

if you can't, let the wave push and farm under the safety of your turret. laning vs. riven can be annoying, but denying her kills in lane is important because the laning phase is her biggest opportunity to get the snowball rolling. she's not as effective in teamfights due to how vulnerable she is when facing more than one person

I've never seen that Riven bully combo, unless you're under turret, which in that case the turret doesn't hit her in the first place, and if I go for cs I get the shit bullied out of me.

sorry, i should have made that a bit more clear

the q + aa x3 into w then e out combo -- the standard one is what i meant. yeah the combo she does to harass under tower is kinda annoying, but if you find yourself unable to respond in that situation, you can always ask for jungler assistance since she's extremely overextended. if they don't show up, it's best to do everything you can to deny riven a kill

So she's too weak to nerf, but she's too strong to beat? Look I've beaten my fair share of Rivens, but any decent Riven will use in game bugs to make it in their favor.

Animation cancelling isn't a bug, it exists to some degree on all champions. Since riven benefits from it so much more than most champions, her numbers have been balanced around them so that a riven who does 0 animation cancels has sub par stats and one who cancels perfectly has somewhat higher than average stats (if you manage to use the cancels in a way thats actually useful which both situationally difficult and mechanically difficult).

Also, it takes a lot of practice to do and as a level of mechanical mastery in it's own right. It's not like a bug where you hold down the alt key when ulting for it to not go on cooldown or something, it just allows a player to make lots of fast paced micro optimizations assuming they have the physical ability to pull it off.

Riven will immediately go on tilt and play poorly, as they are all ill-tempered morons.

Silence is a very powerful tool against Riven. Garen Chogath can interrupt her combo, take away her mobility, and leave her vulnerable to attack all in a single ability. They both can also sustain in lane to keep up with a Riven's constant aggression.

Traditionally, while Garen can counter Riven pretty well in lane he tended to fall off later on while Riven just kept snowballing. Now that the Garen rework has given him some late game scaling, he can stand toe to toe with Riven at all phases of the game. And if Riven snowballs, she becomes the villain and Garen tears her apart.
