Balance is a joke right now (Long Rant)

Yasuo Riven Darius LeeSin Lucian are in 90% of my games and either result in a instawin or an instaloss, depending if I have them on my team or the enemy team. The impact I have playing Vladimir is minimal to nonexistant and have even considered replacing him with Swain.

It doesn't matter if I go 2 - 0 in middle lane. I can't help a 0 - 6 top lane or a combined 0 - 13 bot lane. Reaffirming silver as the true elo hell. In bronze, everyone sucks, it's not hard to carry the team on your back with a fully stacked mejai's. In silver, you get players that play god just because they're in silver tier and think they know how to play the game when they really don't.

I admit, I'm not a perfect player, but I by no means should be called "bad" for failing to win against a 5 - 1 Darius or 7 - 2 MissFortune.

Please, Riot can you at least try to achieve some balance in the game? Vladimir is sitting at one of the lowest win rate, while we need to give Darius lifesteal when he already has insane damage and tankiness and more buffs to lethality when MissFortune was already one shotting everyone.

I'm stuck between 25 - 30 normal wins and really starting to lose hope. Often times, the game has already been decided in the first 10 minutes whether it was bot lane that gave first blood in the first 3 minutes or a useless jungler.

P.S does anyone know how to see the total amount of upvotes/downvotes?

Alright, I'll do this in sections.

Yasuo If you are a ranged mage or marksman against windman, then taking armor in your runes is definitely a big help. For extra help get summoner 3. In lane resist the urge to stand in your minions, stand to the side of them. This way Yas can't dash to you and harm you before dashing back. Treat your minions as a two-way road that Yasuo can travel at will. Stand outside the road and he can't reach you without overextending and nulifiying the safety of his road back to his tower.

Additionally, if the Yas is particularly aggro and wants to push, let him. This way he can't ride your wave back to tower if he gets ganked.

AA him from time to time outside his reach to pop the shield, and use your low cooldown spells on him when safe to whittle him down.

Riven She can cover quite a bit of distance, however she isn't unbeatable. Stay far enough away that she has to burn at least 2 Qs to reach you. This way you minimize the amount of damage you take from her. Throw your spells at her while kiting back. Early in the game she is squishy with no sustain, so be sure to poke her often. Do not over do this however if she keeps dodging, because she is manaless while you are likely not.

If you catch her in a CC spell then go unload all your spells before backing off out of her retaliation range.

Darius Kiting is the name of the game here. If you get into Darius's Q range you are certainly in his E range, and then you're doomed without summoners. You are almost certainly longer ranged than him, so throw spells at him while kiting back to avoid him. If you must get MS early to make this easier than do so. Let him push so he can get ganked, unless you can bully him hard, in which case you can zone him off of minions. later in the game do whatever you can to make sure he can't get to your backline. He is often a priority target to kill next to their ADC or Mage as he can penta when he gets Noxian Might and ult resets.

LeeSin Keep track of him at all times if you can. Throw wards not only in your side bush but also in the river. The more amount of time you see him coming, the better chance you have of getting under tower. Try to sidestep his Q's so he can't catch up to you, and juke him best you can if he ward hops under tower with you. CC him if possible and immediately run towards your base so that he can't kick you towards his friends. If he built damage Lee then eating too many towershots will kill him. If he built tank lee then he shouldn't be able to kill you be himself, so he'll try to kick you out of your tower so his friend can help.

Lucian This bro loves to dash and gunsling, but he is relatively short ranged compared to other ADCs, he lacks decent poke, as W is more for utility than for actual damage. If you can outrange him and poke him down before he can get up close and outtrade, you win. Additionally CC him so that his dashes will do him no good and he makes for easy pickings.

Definitely good advice, most of this I guess is poking which Vladimir is good at.

i love people complaining about downvotes on their shit post threads that offer nothing other than biased statements and calling the game unbalanced for no other reason than because they lose.

why should i offer any counter arguments? you are not offering any to begin with. Your entire "argument" if you can even call it that, is that you lose to certain champions therefore the game is unbalanced yet none of them have absurd winrates... so what is your argument? i fail to see any argument here for me to counter argue

Hallbuster1 votes

Most of them do have over 50% win rates although you can argue not all of the sites listed are completely accurate.

a slight winrate above 50% means nothing. When they reach 55% at the bare minimum you can come and say something. The only champion of those who even is close is Riven and that is mainly due to the opposition that is in the top lane these days where she is actually decent against them

tons of weakminded weak willed people like this snowball meta because they're taking advantage of it...just how rito has decided to steer their game the last two seasons and it really, really, sucks. This reeks of the ghostcrawler influence....slowly and surely this game will be an afterthought. Many of my friends left to play other games like Overwatch....OVERWATCH...that CRAP game!...of all games!

I can't tell you how bitter I am at the direction league has moved with this snowball/surrender meta. Watching LCS has never been less exciting. /ff.

Hallbuster1 votes

Yeah, snowball meta is really killing the game. I rarely hit level 17 - 18 anymore. The game is usually over the second bot feeds and comebacks are few and far between.

I'll be honest, most of this is kinda wrong, but you're right about swain. Swain's heal is ridiculous. He basically is a better version of vlad.

Imo, they should nerf swain ult heal, and just revert the vlad changes from last season. 2 seasons ago? I dont remember anymore, but old vlad was better. There was also will of the ancients then, though. Maybe they put his e back the way it was, but they keep the q changes and put will of the ancients back in the game.

Darius heal could be reduced a little.

Lucien needs a slight mobility nerf. He's a little too mobile.

Riven is fine.

Yas is fine, maybe even underpowered. He's just played a lot because of weeaboos

Lee is just a little bullshit cuz of his mobility. I don't see an actual way to balance him besides his skillcap, which is currently doing a subpar job of keeping him in check. I don't think he needs straight up nerfs though. I just think his Ult needs a longer cooldown and his w to not shield as much.

Yasuo isn't just in low elos though. I don't know where people are getting this from because I've seen him played as high as challenger.

Hell, I've even faced a diamond yasuo that went 20/5 before.

JhomasTefferson1 votes

Yeah, true, but, his usability drops off quite a bit. People in higher elos generally know better ways to play around him (don't stand in a line/ dont shoot their ult into his windwall). It's like amumu. Amumu is a top tier jg in low elo, but he's still useful in higher elo, just less so, because people will abuse his early game and not stand next to eachother late.

Hmmm yeah, probably :/.

sit kid1 votes

Oh, so the feeders are always at your team?

Hallbuster1 votes

Even if they weren't, it doesn't change anything. I'm not just complaining about losing, I'm complaining because it feels like I'm making absolutely no impact in-game because of how imbalanced some champions are getting. I could go 4/1/2 and lose or 2/8/1 and still win.

Hallbuster1 votes

Sometimes this is true, sometimes it isn't. When people always use statistics or chance to prove facts in their arguments it isn't always accurate. Just like the 44% less likely chance to get an afk/troll/feeder on your team. Because there are times when I really did get more than 44%.

sit kid1 votes

But it is true. There is a big chance of a lane will lose every game. And if YOU feel useless, you're probably doing something wrong. Are you staying mid all the time, while the enemy roams bot, and gets towers? I main mid, and there are certain champions who just have higher power level than others ATM. I love playing Azir, but when Syndra is this strong, I just cannot leave her open.

Vlad has had some problems in terms of balance and LCS before, but it seems like his playrate in LCS is lowered. I don't know whether he will be buffed or not, but if you feel useless in silver (no matter the champion), you have to do something different.

Hallbuster1 votes

Yes, I've tried both strategies before. Staying in my lane to farm or consistently roaming. Both have their pro's and cons and I really can't say doing one is better than the other. One problem with roaming is always counter ganks, just when you think you've won, their jungler, mid, or someone else shows up leaving the power struggle in their favor again and putting you even farther behind once the fight is lost. Farming is always the safer option but often times means losing top/bot.

I doubt Vladimir will get buffed soon, even if he disapears from pro play.

sit kid1 votes

I doubt Vladimir will get buffed soon, he's seen way too often in pro play.

He's actually not seen all that often anymore. He was played in MSI once.

lmao, checking your op.gg, I see you carrying plenty of game, but of course also losing some. What's the deal?

Hallbuster1 votes

Oh, huh, well I can always hope :/.

I went from 35 wins just a few days ago, all the way down to 26. I really don't want to say it's because of AFK/trolls/feeders but I literally feel they were the main reason. Counted 3 games where someone went AFK, Had 2 trolls, a few were hard feeders and 4 - 5 was my own fault.

I feel that Vlad top (in Silver) has the advantage against Darius and Yasuo. I rarely lose lane against those 2 as Vladimir if its a 1 vs 1 laning issue. I've played both match ups a lot since Darius and Yasuo have both been spammed at some point in Normals. Yasuo's obnoxious but generally speaking, he will lose his cool before you do (most Silver/Bronze Yasuos feel the need to make flashy plays in lane at some point, despite his great scaling there's something about the character/design that encourages you to go ham). You have range advantage and no mana costs so theoretically, you can kite them forever. Riven it just depends on the skill of the player (but from my experience a lot of them, for whatever reason, use their abilities to farm or to "poke" instead of zone, that's when you can go and poke her down).

Having said that, Vladimir isn't necessarily the best champion to climb with. At 3 items you can fight a whole team but before then your impact is fairly minimal without the occasional cheese kills. You're essentially gambling that your team doesn't throw the game before you hit your power spikes. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. If you get the right match up you MIGHT snowball but a lot of the time you're basically farming for your items.

I've tried Swain as well but in terms of laning, he doesn't have a lot of kill pressure. He also seems to be a farm for items mid/late game champ. You MIGHT get the bad player who keeps walking into your Ws but against anyone half decent, most laning will just be you CS-ing and poking with your Qs. The match ups feel slightly worse than Vlad (Yasuo would give Swain A LOT of trouble for example) and you have much less flexibility in itemisation (Swain MUST traditionally build ROA and Zhonyas/SV whereas with Vladimir you have a lot more flexibility in early items). His mid game may (under the right circumstances) be better than Vladimir because he brings CC but at the same time, you're less likely to be fed at that point because of even lower kill pressure in lane. I feel he is still at best a situational pick. If picked, you are very likely to get a farm lane unless you get counterpicked (in which case you are in trouble, Renekton into Swain, Riven into Swain etc).

Late game? No contest. Vladimir's late game is better all across. Higher AP ratios, more reliable and spammable AOE abilities. However, if your team has good CC chains Swain may work out better.

You could try playing bully top laners yourself (can't beat them join them?). I've been spamming Renekton in top lane. If you win the lane you can split push/teamfight and carry. If you are behind you can still act as a front line tank (I've noticed Silvers have a tendency to focus the tank and so sometimes it is possible to carry even when behind as a battle tank). However, the match ups take A LOT of practice.

It is possible for Renekton to beat Darius and Riven in lane.

Hallbuster1 votes

Thanks for the advice uh Vlad Maine, we added each other in game I recall >.>. Yeah, renekton seems really strong right now. Despite what I've heard about falling off late, it seems rarely true. More than often a fed renekton can 1 vs 3 most teams.

WitchQueen Annie1 votes

However, he does feel AWFUL the first few dozen games you play with him. There's definitely a bit of a learning curve; but he CAN dominate most lane match ups. He's definitely got his style of fighting that's different from other tops; takes a while to get used to.

While he's a strong laner, if the player messes up early (gets Ganked or outplayed) and Renek falls 1 or 2 kills behind... it feels really bad.

Vlad can beat all those champs if you are good

Hallbuster1 votes

And you can climb to challenger playing Urgot! Doesn't mean the average person can or has the skill capacity too, including me.

well then dont complain if you just dont have the skill to beat them
