Start Doran's Blade for sustain, more HP, better AA trading in laning phase. Tear -> Sorc boots & Haunting Guise -> Finish the Archangel & Liandry -> Luden's Echo -> Void Staff -> Final item Final items that work: Lich Bane (Insane splitpush, better 1v1) Zhonya (Safety) Rabadon (Damages, although pen is better than AP on this build) Rylai (More tankshred, permaslow with your R) Abyssal (Even more magpen, defense against magic dmg) etc.

More safety than Kog'maw (Kog's biggest problem) More waveclear than Ezreal (Ezreal's biggest problem) Magic damage instead of physical, so harder to counterbuild More effective against tanks than Varus and Jayce Lower range than Kog, higher range than Ez Poke is easiest to land of the three AP poke champs of midlane

Tested in platinum solo queue, works fine.

His scalings are 50 on Q, 20 on W, none on E, and 30 on R. I say dont even spend the Archangels gold that early; just go straight for triple pen build. Tear, sorcs, haunting guise, void, then ludens or liandrys depending on if you need pen or waveclear.

Scalings honestly don't matter when you can spam an ability this much, Kog has a 30% scaling on his R too. I do agree that pen is very effective, and skipping archangel's should be fine, I dislike getting void before before Luden though, because Luden is just so great as a poke item.

Seems legit, I do like the early almost-true damage but I guess I could try this too.

i'll test it out in soloq too; i love ap kog (40k mastery points on the poor beast) and this does seem like a safer, shorter range version of him. thanks for the suggestions mate!

actually, i feel like ludens first item would be hampered too much by corki's rocket limit. tear -> guise -> sorcs -> ludens probably most optimal build path for early
