Unpopular opinions - Why Lee sin is the best champion ever designed
I'm prepared for the downvotes!
Lee sin is, in my opinion, one of the best champions ever designed, if not the best. Here are my reasons:
-
Lee is played constantly despite having an atrocious winrate - This means either he is so fun to play that players would rather lose than pick someone else, or his kit inherently makes him FEEL strong, even if hes not. One of the most frustrating thing about some champions is that when you're countered or have a rough game, you feel utterly useless. Lee FEELS strong, even when hes weak, and you always feel like you can do something, even if you really can't. It makes you enjoy playing him, even if you aren't actually winning.
-
**Lee has stood the test of time **- Most champions from Lee's time have needed severe reworks to bring them up to the level an evolving game demanded, but not lee. Lee's design was so versatile that he hasn't needed massive reworks to fit the game at any time, while at the same time not ever being gamebreakingly ahead of his time. That's good design by definition.
-
Lee is consistently played in every meta - Since his release, Lee has found a place in every meta of the game, often in multiple roles. He has remained a champion that can be what needs to be, without being pigeon holed into an unviable build or playstyle. He can be your assassin, tank, support, early snowball ganker, and he does all of these things with success if you have the skill, but even in the most capable hands, he can't do any of them so well that he outclasses everyone else.
-
Lee can be balanced around multiple builds - There have been many champions that have found success in unpredicted ways with off builds that became problematic to balance. Every season has a few champions that find an off build that breaks the game and usually has to be removed. Ap yi is a great example. Lee has been able to have multiple builds all be balanced simultaneously, and I hope you can appreciate how much of a success that is for his design.
People complain that there is bias for Lee, and there really should be, he's the best designed champion they have. I'm not saying he's perfect, or doesn't need some tweaks here and there (nothing could be designed that would be perfect all the time) but hes always viable, never gamebreakingly op, never unfair to play against, and always fun to play.
I know I'll get downvoted because people get sick of seeing Lee so they have hate for him, which i understand. I just wanted to point out that you see lee so much not because hes designed poorly, but because hes designed so well.
except 1. because she's always op.
