Shaco So he's on your team.

WHAT NOT TO DO Shaco pings he's ganking your lane. You go in as soon as he uses Deceive. You scare the enemy off.

WHAT TO DO Wait for Shaco 's invisibility to wear off before showing aggression. If you have CC and can land it, this would be a good time to use it. This means that:

  1. He will be within attacking range before they can back off
  2. He's in a great position to drop a Jack in the Box to either chain with your CC or cut off their escape route.

Just in general it's a bad idea to give your enemy a tell that your jungler is coming to pay them a visit. But with Shaco, the time to go in isn't immediately after he uses his gapcloser. Understanding Shaco will provide a bit better chance of getting that summoner 4 or kill.

I REALLY hope Shaco gets a few tweaks later. I love playing him but lately with all these burst/thunderlords mechanics its a bit risky to be a Shaco

He's just so heavily outclassed. There's no reason to pick him over any other Jungler aside from his cheese level 2 counterjungling.

So much this. I can't tell you how many times a gank has gone sour because the laners would go from 0 to 100 in a second, making it super obvious that I was nearby. A little patience and proper timing makes all the difference with a Shaco gank.

Noone expects the banana level 2 gank.

Doesn't really matter what to do and not to do, i usually don't ping before i'm behind the enemy to prevent that from happening.

I'm gonna have to disagree with this one.

If you let Shaco go in by himself first, especially bot lane, he's gonna get blown to bits. What you have to do is let them push then start a fight when Shaco's just passing Drag pit.

Bot lane ganks tie into the second paragraph of "If you have CC, now's a good time to use it." I'm not saying leave Shaco out to dry (please don't). I'm saying if you IMMEDIATELY go ham as soon as he presses Q, they'll run away before he can even get in range. At best he can throw a shiv into their back and walk off.

Ideally, Shaco wants to get BEHIND them before he's visible to get a free damage-amped crit, as well as set his box up. Jumping the gun can prevent him from doing that.

Yeah if you can bait a fight for him to pile jump into, that's a solid way to bait a gank, too. Problem is, a lot of the time people start a fight then lose by the time I get there which frustrates me greatly.

This is the key to beating the Law of Shaco
