Why Annie is not a good champion to climb low elo's with
In the past, Annie was my main preferred champion to climb low Elo's with, but now, I realize that she is not a good champion at all if you have any wish to escape bronze. I now find her inferior to Vladimir and will give you reasons why.
- Poor mobility combined with no escape: This was the deal breaker and why I stopped using Annie altogether. Annie is highly prone to gank, or in my words, "gank bait." Proper warding can help but does little if the enemy on the other team decides to freeze the lane.
- Weak late game: You know those games that drag for an hour long, those are bronze games and they rarely end in 20 minutes. Long enough that Annie starts to wear off. While her ap ratios aren't poor, they are nowhere near late game monsters such as Ryze, Malzahar, or Vladimir.
- Squishy: I've had my health reduced by half, in freaking half, by a single attack in certain scenarios! Unless you can dodge 80% of incoming skill shots, you won't win your lane, period.
- Low range = tons of Counter picks: While Annie's AA is quite far:625, her abilities are not. Compared to Lux, Orianna, or even Ryze, Annie has to get in extremely close to deal damage. The champions I listed will try and abuse her weaknesses which is why the lane won't always be easy to win. Yes, she's able counters assassin champions and gap closers but that makeups what, 10 champions?
These are the reasons why Vladimir is noob friendly.
- Poor mobility but a good escape: Vladimir's sanguine pool + ghost or flash can get you out of sticky situations. Junglers don't even attempt to gank Vladimir the first time they fail.
- Weak early game but an extremely strong late game: Unlike Annie, Vladimir is a character that tends to do worse early game but better mid to late game. He hits his power spike somewhere around level 8 - 9. This is when you can start spamming q and e and really deal some damage to enemy carries.
- You can make mistakes: Vladimir is a character that is able to heal the damage he takes. Even if you're garbage at dodging skill shots, you can still stay in lane as long as you're getting more health than you're losing.
- Lack of counter picks: Not many champions counter Vladimir. Which is why he's a fearsome threat to players that try their hands at op picks, including Darius, Yasuo, and Fiora to name a few.
Of course, Vladimir does have one significant weakness I forgot to mention, he is incredibly hard to last hit minions with. I've remedied this problem in the past by putting 5 points in savagery and buying Doran's blade instead of Doran's shield. This gives me a combined damage of 12 and makes him deal 60 attack damage instead of the usual 48 starting at level 1.
?????????
Low range? Wont be punished as severely, if at all for it.
. When you don't have to think about anything but pressing R, you can focus on other aspects of the game and really start improving.
. Without it, you are COMPELTELY flash dependent to make plays a lot of the times.
A bronze player needs a maximum of 10 games to figure out how this champ works. And then he can stomp botlane every game cause in bronze they don't dodge the hook.
and
are examples that have no mobility but are fine, in fact no one wants to see a mage who can 100-0 with instant AOE stuns with the ability to move around with relative ease, you might even heard of the famous/infamous? flash Tibbers because of her lack of mobility but again that doesn't stop her from winning.
WTH are you talking about ? Malzahar is complete crap right now... he is so nerfed its not even funny.
If you are getting trashed by Malzahar players right now, then you would not be climbing out of bronze anyway.
