In a Perfect World, Riot Would
Bring back Ranked 5v5 and introduce separate balancing for the 5v5 queue, which would be oriented entirely around pro play balance, every other queue would have pro play oriented changes removed.
This separate balancing would be exclusively for champions that are problematic in pro play, like
, while still receiving the regular balance updates as well.
Reason being that the champions that are problematic in LCS are strong when used by a team with good communication, something that isn't exclusive to pro players. Many players queue up with 4 other friends and use League's ingame voice communication Discord to coordinate plays. However, this rarely happens in solo queue, so the champions that are nerfed for pro play dominance are borderline useless.
If Riot were to ever do this (highly unlikely), players would be able to play champions they know and love without having to worry about them being gutted by Riot for being too dominant in pro play. Additionally, there wouldn't be the "disconnect between players and pros," as non pro player's would be able to play the same balance patches as the pros do, and pros would be able to practice in the 5v5 queue without worrying that what they're using won't be applicable to tournament matches.
