does ekko really need a movement speed boost on his passive?

how about above all number nerfs you shave some utility off his kit?

he already has 3 slows, and a mobility tool to work with. both of the slows on his w and q are incredibly easy to land, since theyre the size of a football field.

i dont understand why he has a second - scratch that, his ult exists - third mobility tool.

let that go through your head for a moment. he has 3 slows (passive, q, w) in his kit on top of 3 mobility tools (passive, e, r) of which one is a double gap closer.

speaking of his w. there needs to be a way to deny him his shield. because even when you step out of that gigantic zone, that blocks half the lane, he gets an "oops i fucked up and didnt manage to stun my opponent" button long enough to disengage so he can try again later.

that shield makes it almost impossible to punish him for missing the stun before he gets away.

which already makes the second "i fucked up, let me reset the fight" button.

what is ekko really? is he a utility mage or an assassin? because cramming both into a champion obviously has its issues.

They are removing the slow from his passive so he can keep the ms boost. Either of them had to go...slow and ms boost was too much.

thank goodness.

imo i would also increase the range on his q, while making the thing a lot more narrow, like a zed q. to tune down his waveclear and make the thing harder to land. but he would get a little more range in return.

they could look into an additional condition for him to get his shield. maybe increase the duration, but only give him the shield when he catches an enemy champion in his stun.

like i said. i take issue with the fact that he can throw down the thing in lane, and just walk away with a shield when he misses his stun on you. it largely reduces commitment on his engages.

well, those pbe changes have been reverted.

also, what theyve been doing is adding utility scaligns to his slow like to a support.

the fact that an assassin is actually getting utility scalings speaks volumes.

this isnt just about nerfs. i think riot should decide what ekko really is. an assassin, or a support mage. and then balance him around either.

if they decide hes an assassin, he needs to be a lot less forgiving to play, and some utility removed in multiple parts of his kit, so he can play like a mobile, burstly champ.

if hes a support mage, they should reduce the % damage from his kit and make him work purely off his utility to support his team with single target + aoe slows/stuns, and medium damage.

the entire reason why bruiser ekko is a thing is, because like a support hes so crammed full of utility and high base damage, that hes can stay relevant by not buildng damage items.

Ekko was released as the first utility assassin. So he's not a utility mage, but a utility assassin... I was worried a lot when he was released.

well, yea. and that really didnt work out great.

dont mind the fact that hes an assassin with great waveclear, and multiple cc, mobiltiy and zoning tools.

what anoys me the most about facing him, is that he can screw up a lot and it doesnt really do anything to him. he misses his stun, he gets a shield and walks away, while throwing his q into your general direction.

he loses a trade, he hits ult, and does the same thing. its infuriating.

at the same time these champions are incredibly punishing to their opponents when they make a mistake since its almost impossible to get away from his multiple slows, and his double gap closer + movement speed buff. if you make one mistep he will chase you down while hes not required to commit to a fight himself.

i simply dont think a utility assassin should be a thing. they should focus on either one of his identities and try to balance him around that.

I agree. I think that they were experimenting, and are now seeing just the issues that having a utility assassin would bring.
