Why I hate fizz and almost every mid assassin : no matter how much I beat them in lane all they have to do is buy one item, roam bot, get one item and start snowballing for the rest of the game.
Fizz is even worse however due to a even more BS vladpool at least with Vlad you know which way he is heading
Vlad also pays a good chunk of health to use it, too.
I beat a gold 5 fizz with a mid ap leona. He rage quit within the 1st 20 min ; /
Pick someone who can push the lane early and suddenly Fizz isn't that big a deal. Morgana/Mord/Zed/Lulu/Kayle/Xerath/etc. Bury him under his tower and laugh as he can't roam and can't really push the lane out until much later levels. You don't have to kill someone to beat them in lane, although a number of the ones I mentioned do in fact have kill potential on fizz.

inb4 their jungler camps you mid
inb4 their jungler camps you mid
I know warding is a wonderful thing. It's not like all but 1 of those champs I mentioned either has great mobility or some ability to disengage to get away with a properly provided warning.
Not Xerath, he's pretty bad against Fizz.
mordekaiser counters the hell out of him!
all his spells hit him before he even thinks about toll-polling
he pushes wave
his shield if timed right can negate most of his dmg and win trades.
i love when someone first picks fizz <3
I see you like game of thrones Mr. Danyul Targaryen. Fizz is strong. Fizz has weaknesses. Fizz cannot single handedly carry his entire team. Fizz is easy to deal with if you position yourself correctly and predict his movements. Don't stay in lane if you are within his kill range.
lol yeah i love it. But i have to disagree he can carry. He just bothers me so badly. Hes the only thing that can make me rage quit.
He can carry just like any other mid lanner, but im saying he cannot single handedly carry his team to victory. Sure he gets a couple kills in lane, but he has to dive VERY aggressively onto his target, meaning he is an easy target while doing so.

e zhonyas then e out.
We're talking about in lane. Fizz will not have Zhyona's then. Also, I'm pretty sure there is no way to get his CDR that low to have it refresh within a single Zhyona's.
There isn't. Zhonyas is 1.5 or 2 seconds. http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Fizz
Reference says: 8 second cd rank 5 (I agree thats too low, make it static 12 and then its better imo). So 40% of 8 seconds takes it down to 4.8 seconds. Still too low, but not Zhonya chaining low.
Zhonya's is 2.5 seconds to clarify, making a max cool down Fizz have 2.3 seconds of vulnerability.
Have to disagree. I logged in hundreds of fizz game the past season and fizz is broken. E in to the carry, ult, q, zhonya, then e out of the fight and then just wait 4 seconds for cooldowns then blow someone up again
He'd have more counterplay if they removed the indefinite damage application on his Urchin Strike. It's pretty ridiculous how you can flash (or dash) out of Fizz's Q long before it hits but still take damage (especially when it chunks you late game). Abilities like Fizz's Urchin Strike, Jax's Leap Strike, and Akali's Shadow Dance are the epitome of point-and-click/no counterplay features of League. Except unlike Malzahar's Nether Grasp or Warwick's Infinite Duress, there is no way to QSS or cleanse your way out. The indefinite damage application by these abilities seems more like gameplay bugs than intended features. Riot, however, has recognized the indefinite damage application but does not plan on changing it anytime soon. Very frustrating.

Just like Pantheon's Q, Veigar's Q/R, Teemo's Q, Annie's Q, and so on. Lot of champs have targeted abilities. Imagine Pantheon's Q if it wasn't point and click. Low health, hiding in a bush, bam, random Pantheon Q. Would be a second Nidalee spear. Take off the targeting on Pantheon's. Now have Pantheon and Nidalee shoot a wild spear in the bush and hope that someone wasn't hiding there. Would be a shame if the target happened to be half health or less, or an ADC that you don't need vision to land Pantheon's spear anymore along with Nidalee spear and they insta die.
Just think if Viegar's Q wasn't point and click. Just face check that bush and have that his Q land in it. Teemo could just send a wild blind dart in the bush and then go in it and start attacking. Akali could then just toss her Q in a bush, and if someone's in it, then she could R straight to them. Yep. "Now balanced."
All of your examples are projectiles. Nearly all dashes (which I am discussing exclusively here) don't apply damage unless the target is present where the dash ends, when it ends. Meaning there is actually a section of code dedicated to performing a check for enemy targets when the the dashing champion reaches the end of the dash. See: Riven, Tryndamere, Nidalee, Sejuani, Shen, LeBlanc, Malphite, Gragas, Renekton, Poppy, Ahri, Jayce, Shyvana, Vi.
League of Legends' gameplay is heavily dependent (currently) on point and click projectiles. But when it comes to champion mobility, there is significant counterplay in the vast majority of cases (i.e. moving out of the way, somehow). The three cases I pointed out are part of a handful of exceptions to this mobility counterplay trend that don't make sense in terms of deliberacy or gameplay. Jayce's To The Skies! clearly demonstrates Riot's ability to code a target check before damage application. Because Fizz's Urchin Strike and Jayce's To The Skies! do essentially the same thing (to point-and-click on an enemy to dash to them and do damage), the issue is raised regarding why Jayce's (and almost everyone else's) dash checks for targets while Fizz, Akali, and Jax's do not.
The obvious solution is to give those dashes target checks to improve counterplay, consistency, and the perception of Riot's grasp of physics (despite projectiles still bending in mid air -- but that's a different issue altogether and one not so easily solved).
Reiterated: You're arguing an entirely different issue regarding projectiles. I'm discussing dashes and dash mechanics exclusively.
Fizz is so easy to beat. His spells have such a high cooldown. Once they are blown that's it. He has to run a way.
Recently, a LeBlanc took advantage of my cooldowns and continued engaging on me. E was 2 seconds away from cooldown to hop away from her. Like we'd have our short pokes in lane, then she goes in for hard engage afterwards while my E is on cooldown for so long at early levels.
P.S. Nice 777 normal wins on your profile. You should screenshot that. LOL
I normally time my attacks on Fizz. I don't do anything until he uses his E? right? Once he uses that he is wide open for an assault when 1v1. As for group fights may be a little tricky since their are several targets to worry about.
Fizz op?
Toxic yes, but hardly op.
Fizz isn't op, he just requires more thought to play against than most champions. Most people are just used to "Do I have more items/stronger abilities than my opponents? Then I win." The trick with fizz is to heavily abuse his early levels. Especially levels 1-2, he can't do much at all. Assuming you weren't countered picked yourself, don't just farm the creeps, poke him every chance you have. He should be at around 40% or so health by level 3. There are two goals when facing a Fizz: Don't die, and keep him down. Fizz is incredibly kill reliant. Compared to 90% of other midlaners, he has no farming or pushing capabilities. He HAS to get kills. If he roams, make sure to notify the appropriate lanes and hit his towers. If he tries to go all in, just back off and restart. Make sure to ward, even if you have to buy one, and just keep the waves pushed.
Fizz cannot carry at all. Just like any other assassin he can snowball quickly if he gets early kills and starts roaming, but if the game stays even or heaven forbid he does poorly in lane his use quickly turns into an all in on opposing carry best case scenario.

Lol
I just want to be able to avoid damage when I dash away from his Q, instead of all of it being applied despite the fact that he didn't touch me.
You just have to be really patient when dealing with Fizz.
A good hard CC champion with bulk is Fizz's worst nightmare. I was stuck as Fizz vs an AP Cho Gath mid, it was hell. If i dove on him he would scream while I was dashing, pop his Q under himself then AA me once I landed until he could R me for death. Plus I couldn't kill him without jungle support once he got his Abyssal and 2+ Feast stacks T_T
Counter, located. Silence. =P Cho'gath style.
LoLoL I MAIN FIZZ. plenty of people that can trash on me.
I just hate him. I don't care if he is OP or not, facing him is so frustrating. He messes up? He has a low-cd untagetability with dash, pass-through targeted dash and AoE hard CC. You mess up? Dead. Anyone on your team messes up and gives him a kill? Snowball.
1.) Fix his Q inconsistency. If I flash out of it, it deals no damage. Simple as that. 2.) That ult... Just think about it for a sec. It's a hard AoE CC. With 100% AP scaling. On an assassin. An assassin with another AoE. 3.) Massively increase his E CD if he does not land on a champion. There is no reason he should always have his untargetability on such a low CD. He uses it aggressively, he has to wait 4 seconds to use it again. He uses it defensively? Make it a 10+ second CD.
If you can't deal with him ban him. Hes banned half of ranked and normal draft games anyways
