Maybe bring back the mana burn on Wit's End?

There's so much mana on the field nowadays what with the Rod of Ages and righteous glory and other mana items, maybe give wit's end some of its life back?

The mana burn wasn't problematic against high mana champions, but low mana champions. It's also just too niche for a single item. Either the item by itself counters a group of champions too hard, or it's useless by itself and has no items to combo with. Finally, I think Riot considers mana draining a fairly bad mechanic since it causes a very negative experience to the opposing player with a not as satisfying experience for the one dishing it out.

mana burn was removed because it either was too strong or too weak not because it was strong against low mana pool champions. If it was strong it was strong against EVERYONE, if it was weak it was weak against EVERYONE

no.

Those items existing is a huge reason wits end was removed

you see, it was either insanely useless or insanely op

they have tons of mana? Insanely useless

they have very small mana pool? Insanely op

If the mana burn was problematic to low mana champions, why can't the amount of mana become greater the more mana the target has?

Thus it'll be useless versus low mana champs but great versus high mana champs.

But then, you run into the problem of it either being too weak (because, even though it burns through a percentage of their mana, they still cast enough spells to be unaffected) or too strong (because it drains enough mana to stop people from being a threat in a team fight).

And then there are Manaless/Energy/Fury/Heat/Flow/Blood/Shield/Ferocity resources...

ah okay, sorry dota 2 player here as well so that reminded me of LoL's mana burns. But Dota 2 is much different handling mana and spell usage it's applicable over there.
