Why are supports not playing with zombie wards and active item cdr?

So I have been switching around with my runes and recently tried something new. The zombie wards and active item CDR runes and they have blown my mind.

Reducing your sweeper lens to a 26 second cooldown gaining visions scores of over 100 nearly every game that lasts for a while. It's always been stated that vision wins games and if you have these runes together with a Ruby Sightstone and several item 2055 which you can carry 3 of now, you can dominate vision if your enemies don't have anything of the liking. Sweeping enemy trinkets every 26 or so seconds, creating more and more zombie wards.

And that's just that, how about a boosted minion from banner of command every 40~ seconds, or redemption every 36~ seconds? This seems so OP, yet I don't see anyone playing these runes a supported nor do I see this in any stats sites. No one uses it, but why? I mean it's not like the other runes are so much better? I'm basicly split pushing with my banner taking down 2 to 3 turrets per game without having to even look at it.

I like them, but damage damage damage is the game =\

because in low elo the majority of supports are Top/mid laners who got autofilled and they don't give a shit

But why don't I see any of these runes in any Korean stats anywhere? Maybe I am looking in the wrong places but?

I imagine, but could be wrong, damage is too important. If you lose early game, you lose the game. I hate to be one of those guys perpetuating this complaint, but I think it holds. In pros you can see Zombie Ward come out because those games are actually longer, more controlled. In high solo queue you see confident players taking anything to end the game early through snowball. This is what I read last season about WW mains with Challengers taking Bloodrazor to snowball/confidence.

If you check the sites, active item cdr from Domination kinda sucks.

I would imagine that Zombie wards and Active item CDR bounty (excellent, nay optimal for vision control) is likely better in a more stable environment, where picks are harder to get but much more important.

As others have said, Zombie wards + AICDR bounty has to compete against Aery, Guardian, Aftershock, Glacial Augment, and probably even Klepto on supports. And there is some powerful combat stuff in all those trees.

Besides the powerful runes that could help you snowball in a number of ways, if you do go down the route of domination, you only get AD/AP for extra winning potential as opposed to the vast number of other runes that would be more powerful. And finally, as the route that perhaps is ironically least snowballing, you HAVE to win and get kills/assists to make the bounty rune even work, which often means getting ahead.

I won't oppose the fact it's a good idea, you just HAVE to know that you will WIN to make it work.

Here's my reasoning as nami one-trick. Initially when i first saw new runes, zombie ward seemed like a hidden op thing. Im slightly less interested in active item cdr thingy, because i don't tend to get alot of actives or even rely on them, i preffer the out of combat ms boost. I did try it out with glacial augment while going full ham on active cdr and geting a bunch of actives. It was fun and i suspet i could use it for some specific games, but it felt lacking not really something i could use in a serious ranked game, also i felt it was quite an overkill in cdr, my frostqueen was often too foten, i woudn get the chance to use it as often as it was up(it was just a general feeling a got from it) i feel like that sightstone upgrade would give enough active item cdr.

now onto why not zombie ward. First i did try out domination as primary tree with electrocute and it didnt feel that good. i would like to say that even in S7 i preffered using TLD over windspeaker so electrocute wasnt sucha far off thing for me. But what about domination as a secondary tree? well the issue is that early in the game domination tree doesnt have alot of power(well it's practically non existent), other tree option for early game are much better and for a support early game is the most important part. Domination tree just doesnt really have alot of in lane power, most of it is once things have started going, while other trees like resolve and inspiration have usefulness both in lane and out of it.

I will admit that the fact that it was and still is pre-season where games were really early game focused and very snowbally and recently we got a patch that tune things down a bit so maybe i'll be able to get away with going domination. Gonna have to wait and try out.

It's late-game utility generally, and offers no combat stats/early game advantage. Since the game is so snowbally, it's much more important to snowball than to "play for lategame." This applies to supports too; you don't see most people taking overgrowth, gathering storm even though they're both pretty dang insane

Reason -> Because Ingenious Hunter needs you to score takedowns on all 5 of enemy champions which can be EXTREMELY unreliable and difficult to accomplish in reasonable timeframe for some supports who aren't as focused around roaming as much... especially in games where you fall behind early

Zombie wards are undeniably useful, but IH requires you to get at least a Assist on each of the enemy champ takedowns for it to pay off so people rather just opt into something that is a GUARANTEED benefit from the get go...

oh we are and sometimes with unbound spellbook so that we can get tp after getting adc fed enough to be left alone for an extended time [slayer-jinx-wink]

If I remeber right its in the dominion tree right? I'd rather go the route of something in the resolve/sorcery/ w/e the light blue one with all the free items is. If I use dominion as a jungle though I was playing around with the ghost poros. That way I get a ward without buying ward trinkets or carrying any around.

I am still wondering what Riot's intention was for the zombie wards, whether it was meant for the junglers or for the supports, because the tree it's in suggests it's for junglers rather than supports.

I do think it's an option, but as it stands, for myself the fact that it has to compete with Sorcery and Inspiration which does it no favors. As a Sona almost-OTP, the free extra vision sounds awesome but right now I can't really go without Manaflow and Biscuits.

I think all the options were mostly jungle focused. They just based two of them on the junglers taking sweeper/the dusk blade effect to reveal wards and then gave them more value for revealing them. Like I said before though I just like the ghost poro. It gives me the option to just spot ward where needed and it means I always have a ward for a bush no matter cooldowns or if the opponent warded it or not.

Plus he just goes away on his own so the opponent can't get anything from it when they find it.

As a support main, I would consider the tree if I was playing a heavy poke support. Especially one who can proc Electrocute often enough.

But at the same time, I have found my vision being supplemented plenty just from the wards pilfered from Kleptomancy.

I personally feel like it is a Jungler rune. I feel Domination is a Jungler tree personally in my opinion. All of the effects seem to benefit a person that is out of lane a lot (Jungler) than for laning purposes.

I always use zombie wards 100 - 130 Vision score per game ( support ) 50 - 70 VS (Jungle) 45 - 50 VS (other lanes) The zombie wards are fucking amazing overall Only recent addition to the game i approve of

I can see it being use hell a lot in Esports for sure but it isn't so great for solo Q... Rather take the resolve or sorcery tree.

I'm pretty much taken by the combination of Glacial Augment + Font of Life on just about any support right now

I do https://i.imgur.com/zTNjbYX.png but instead of zombie ward i go with cheap shot for more damage.
