In my entire history of playing this game (about 5 years), I don't think I've seen them go on sale even once. I've seen the pages go on sale once in a blue moon, but never the actual runes themselves (not counting those sh*tty starter runes).

Now that you mention it, I think I do remember that sale. I guess it's happened a couple times, but still...it almost never happens. So who else here wasted all their IP on champs and didn't get to buy any new runes?
Warlord Scrap1 votesBecause the ip cost of runes encourages people to spend money on ip boosts. And rune page go on sale the same time every year pre season to the start of ranked.
