To those who complain about the game being a coinflip

It's pretty ridiculous to complain about league being a coinflip. It's been a coinflip since day one of its creation, and been a coinflip in all seven and a half years that I've played the game. Why is that?

Because there's only two possible outcomes. You win or you don't. Even if Riot reduces all damage by half, doubles tankiness, it's still going to be a coinflip. So don't act like bad balancing decisions made the game a coinflip, because that's not true.

Keep criticism of bad decisions entirely separate from ridiculous statements like "The game is a coinflip because rito balance dep sucks and should be replaced with hashinshin"

Doing so won't improve your criticism of bad decisions. It won't help riot do a better job. It won't help you win games. It won't help address problems. So keep criticism of bad decisions as actual criticism, rather than rage-induced toxicity.

Raging and throwing toxicity at rioters for bad decisions won't make them want to appease you. Rioters aren't saints with inexhaustible patience and forgiveness towards humanity, they're just ordinary people. And on average, people don't like having toxicity spewed at them,

Which means that spewing non-stop toxicity at them for bad decisions is less likely to make them want to appease you, and more likely to dig in and entrench themselves on the matter. Dynamic queue for example.

I think most people use that phrase when they feel like they don't have enough agency over the outcome of the game.

Congrats, you totally missed the point of those complains.

The reason they compare it to a coinflip is not because it only has two possible outcomes, but because you lack agency(aka potential to solo-carry) over the outcome, and riots desing decision DID indeed affect that. Riot even admitted that last patch and actively tried to fix it via bounty, with some succes.

Here is why the game is a coin flip.

-Dragons are random, which will support one team more heavily than the other.

-Bot Lane has to be winning Lane or the losing team’s jungler has to solo steal it.

-Jungle Fruit allows people to escape jungles without consequence.

-Shut down gold allows fast comebacks

-Low ELO team knowledge on ending means one or more people have to carry and force end or the game will continue forever until one team throws.

MMR matches team group MMR, and not individual MMR, so teams are unbalanced, making the system like a pendulum instead of a competition against people your own rank and skill.

Coinflip means 50% chance. Having two possible outcomes does not mean 50% chance. They're complaining that it feels like a flip of the coin and they lack agency over the outcome, they arne't complaining that there's only two outcomes. Lol
