It's Been a Fun Decade Riot but I am Finally Out

I just can't do it anymore. League is by far my most played game over the last 10 years and I cannot thank you enough for that. (Although I do wish I did play less games and went outside more over the years lol but that's on me). But after a decade of playing I just can't do it anymore.

Call me old but these are my reasons.

  1. New Champions. I really dislike the champion designs of almost all new champs released these days. Their kits so over loaded and it just feels like you have to play perfectly to beat them even early. I get your trying to make all champs like this, but obviously it's going to take forever with redoing all or most of the older champions. But even then..... I still feel like new champs just too OP to make the game even fun.

  2. Runes Reforged/Damage Creep Look I tried... I really did. Although I hated season 8 after runes reforged released I kept playing. I actually enjoyed season 9 for a long time but after taking roughly 3 months off I have to be honest with myself. I still absolutely hate where damage has gone in this game and just don't find it close to as fun before runes reforged happened. Granted, I think season 7 kinda sucked as well but that was for different reasons.

  3. Change to Rank Distributions I really dislike how ranks changed this season. After having same or similar ranks & distributions from seasons 3-8 season 9 changed this all forever. And the fact I can guarantee over half the player population (probably like 70-80% or more) don't realize this makes it worse. There's literally a decently popular post on Reddit as I type this complaining about putting new players in gold matches when gold isn't the half way mark or average for players. Yet..... the reality is in season 9 IT IS! https://na.op.gg/statistics/tier/ . Literally top 50% of people are gold 4 & higher in season 9. I just hate this. I hit plat for first time in season 9 (but I knew about this change). In reality I needed to hit plat 3 to be old plat 5 due to it being top 10% of players but once I hit plat 4 I just got sick of playing and stopped. I just hate that you made these changes and pushed everyone up making them think they improved when in reality a lot of peoples ranks went up but they stayed the same level of skill compared in terms of % of the player base.

4 Display of ranked Rewards Not sure why this was changed also with dynamic borders or this whole choose between your level/icon or border/rank. I don't see why we can't have both. I hate having to display rank because then people just make fun of you like "ooo look at mister big shot" or w/e. But then if I just show level/icon I don't have a border lol. Just stupid and another thing that was literally fine for season 3-8 but for some reason had to be changed.

  1. In game changes Look I have only played 1 game of preseason 10 so I haven't dealt with new map changes. But honestly..... I have no desire to. Call me old but feel like you just added more stuff to make the map more annoying especially bot lane.

These are just some of the big things over the last two seasons that make me no longer love the game. I am sure newer players find these changes exciting so hopefully you continue to hold on & grow your fan base. But I just can't see myself sticking with you as I just don't find the game fun anymore. I loved the game when people didn't die in 2 shots even pre fucking like level 3...... I miss feeling like I could impact the game a ton as 1 player rather than playing around weaker players than myself. I just.... miss old league. It wasn't as flashy... especially the pro scene. But GOD FUCKING DAMN WAS IT FUN! And I know I will never get to experience that again with this "new" version of league and that saddens me.

Anyways I wish you all the best and thank you for 10 awesome years. I am happy Clash looks like it finally getting closer to release as I do think that is an amazing mode and idea. I have had fun play testing it in the past. But I don't know enough people who continuously play League anymore to try and participate lol or have the desire to keep up with the changes to try and stay competitive.

I'll give you this. At least you're consistent. For three years, the same "I quit" bullshit topics. Word to the wise, people might take your points more seriously if you...

A: Didn't cry wolf every couple months and actually left the game

B: Didn't feel the need to threaten/act like you're going to quit to get your point across

To be frank, no one cares if you quit or stop playing the game. Millions of people love the game the way it is and play it everyday. It's not perfect but it never was or will be. There will always be things that are not balanced or irk some people about the current style. There's plenty of other games beside this one and if you want to stop playing this one altogether there is nothing wrong with that. The world will keep going. This game will keep going. But cut the melodramatic BS and just find something better to do with your time.

I’ve been playing since season 2 and I feel the same way. I’m reaching a point where I’m basically done and don’t care what they do anymore. I like the champions and that’s what keeps me around, but I hate the new champions. I really want them to update the art and do minor kit work on older champions, but that won’t ever happen. The small rework on Diana is a half arsed excuse to not work on her model. Riot has released more new champions than they are working on what we already love. I’m tired of champions going invisible, phasing through walls, doing massive amounts of damage, is untargetable, and more. I’m done. The champions they should be working on her ignored for a new champion or a new champion rework. None of these Developers understand their community and doesn’t want to work on the problems. They want to make as much money off of us and be in the business of ignoring problems. Who cares anymore. If you don’t go anymore than there is no point in playing.

ill be honest, people complain about damage, but it has always been like this, excluding a few seasons. I remember how in S1-2 I aced enemy teams 1v5 with AP yi. I remember when I oneshot ppl with AP sion. I remember when nidalee's spear had cait Q's hitbox and did 50% hp damage.

There was always tons of damage in league.

It is tragic what runes reforged has done to the early game, enabling burst champs to be far less risky.

I'm so happy Halo has come out. My friends are finally playing a good game again instead of this trash. The game used to be amazing, but the devs have done absolutely but nothing but negative changes since season 4. For every new champ that I enjoy, one of my old champs got reworked aka removed from the game. lmfao not that I expected this post to get much attention to begin with buy holy hell finally witnessed people messing with posts. Last I checked like 1-2 hours ago I was at 31 more up votes than down votes. Now says score of -2 lmfao. Good job yall logging onto alts lmfao. That and kids must of gotten out of school. Ah well I see I touched a lot of vets as well who feel the same way and that means a lot to me to know I am not alone.

I can't even imagine getting home from school and checking League forums..... what a depressing childhood. Come on kids either play games or meetup with friends why you wasting time on shit boards like Leagues lol just sad.

Damage actually went down this season. So IDK what youre talking about.

Anyways, you took armor runes on Aatrox against Sylas which makes no sense. You rune choices were really suboptimal.

And you went afk. I think you either need to find another game to play, or just take a break from the game.

I'm a relatively new player. Started in 2017 after playing Dota2 for a few months (my first moba). I played LOL for about 2 to 3 months after that by then it'd had turned into early 2018. I left until late 2018 around October and have played since. So effectively this is the first season I've really experienced.

Every since I've been in this community I've been seeing the same type of people who make the community an extra type of toxic. Nostalgia trippers. These are players that have been playing for the majority of the games history and now find everything wrong with the game compared to when it was in its prime. This Prime usually goes back to when the game was simpler, had champs coming out every month or every few weeks in some cases. And were usually inconsistent in power levels.

I've watched many of old videos on how broken other seasons have been. Items over powered making the game unplayable. The champions they pushed out either under-powered, buggy or overpowered.

Lol is a complex game and it has gotten more complex over the years apparently. This nostalgia trippers brains are filled with information on every season and their brain and emotions are tired. You all should take a break its not good to constanly fill other peoples heads with this non-sense especially since you seem to do this kind of post every year. They complain and talk about the good ol days. And how league is dead. LEAGUE IS SO DEAD! Meanwhile over 80 million players are playing everyday... Old players coming back, new players picking up and dropping it. Its an endless cycle.

No one will miss you when you're gone from this community. I'd prefer it if you and those like you left or shut up. I'm sick of streamers saying the same thing.

This is broken. Man season 3, 4, 6 was so much better.

Yeah lets go back to the 3 yrs Fiora didn't get a single change besides minor updates...

Champions come out broken? Of course, the majority don't go on PBE and learn how to play the champion so they don't know how to play them so to make them competitive they overpower them and nerf them overtime. Ban them or just dodge its not hurting you either way.
