xin has 52% winrate
when people started making threads on the forums, i expected something crazy like he skyrocketed to 60% or something.
turns out hes just ok.
so much for all that exaggeration.

winrate and frustration aren't always attached, hell zed's winrate is lower then xin's and everyone seems to hate zed.
xin just feels unstoppable when he's good, even if his winrate says otherwise, hence the bans

then we can start banning vayne and jinx aswell.
When they get as popular as zed and xin are currently, yes, they get banned plenty too when they're popular
No they don't. Jinx was the most popular ADC for two straight years. Name me one time during then that Jinx was ever a regular ban. Hell even Vayne for as much as she was complained about last summer wasn't regularly banned either.

i actually banned her a lot when she was popular, because she snowballed the shit out of every teamfight as soon as her rockets scored some random assist.
Others apparently didn't get he motto. She peaked at about 40% play rate right before the pre season. And still things like Darius, Gangplank, Morde and others were being banned.
I remember banning both vayne and jinx a lot they rarely were 1st ban but we'd always get them out of our games if one of our premade were banning
Jinx and Vayne couldn't have been banned that often if Jinx had a 40% play rate right before preseason and Vayne somewhere above 30%.
Everyone hates Zed because when hes in a good spot he rofl stomps pretty much everyone.
Seriously the Assassin meta was almost purely zed destroying every champ with LB not far behind.
And zed winrate wasn't in the 60s or anything during that time neither, him stomping every mid laner could be true for LCS but that's only a perception for real play
Of course it wasn't in the 60s but his playrate was nearly 39 percent at the time and he had something like a 54 percent win rate.
At such a high play rate and with a 52 percent win rate it meant he was in almost every single game and when he was he was usually winning them. The assassin meta was almost entirely him alone.
Ah, I don't recall the exact specifics so I'll take your word for it but aside from that, zed during the original assassin meta (season 3-4 if I recall I I remember kha'zix mid being my assassin mid of choice) was super super overtuned and he's been nerfed a ton to the extent where I think any complaints about him now are more about his core gameplay (strong and safe early game, easy escape after his assassination attempt pattern) then his actual power.
I may be wrong but I do think zed is more a frustration point then a "this champ is objectively better then every other option and I don't wanna play it" champion.
I'm not saying zed'a balanced I ban him a lot all the time, he's just frustrating as hell, same as xin zhao when he's good
I definitely agree hes very frustrating for alot of players but i believe alot of that frustration comes from the fact that he has such a safe laning phase with easy farming when most other Assassins are supposed to struggle during that phase that he just farms his way into his power spike at 6 and then there isn't much you can do anymore.
Its like Dealing with a time bomb that you can't stop no matter what you do because the time bomb is always in a safe spot with no risk to itself.
Yea no I get that. A lot of people tend to believe zed falls off in the later parts of the game tho aa his ability to assassinate targets guess more difficult in 5v5 situations and his ult is hard countered by zhonyas and QSS, that's the primary argument I can make to justify his above average early game.
It'd be a different story if he was like a really strong duelist with tremendous late game hyper carry scaling
Like a certain someone this thread was made for
his playrate was nearly 39 percent at the time
he was in **almost ** **every **single game
he had something like a** 54 percent** win rate
he was **usually **winning them
al·most very nearly
eve·ry used to refer to all the individual members of a set without exception.
u·su·al·ly adv for the most part
His win rate rose from 48% to 52%, while his play rate rose from 3% to 16%, that means he's mostly played by unskilled people who didn't play him much or at all, that tells us much.

meanwhile kog maws winrate went from 47 to 54, and from 1.7% play rate to 4.4%, shouldn't we be complaining about kog more than xin?
Is this thread about Xin or Kog? Go on a Kog thread and complain I don't care about him now, the issue here is Xin,
Lets be real how much skill does it really take to play Xin. Yeah he's definitely stronger right now, but can you honestly say previously he was weaker because people weren't skilled with him?

Wut, lol he's not that hard to play, but there's a difference between a beginner Xin and an experienced one, doesn't matter how simple he is there will be a difference so when all people master him completely he will probably see even more rise to his win rate.
But how long does it take you to go from beginner to experienced on him. Its not like were talking bout Azir, Syndra, or Cassopiea here. Were talking about a point and click bruiser.

That's a pretty weak argument to defend an op champ, but here we go. To fully master such a champ probably a month because of decision making, I main Garen since s3 which is a simple champ overall but still I play much better then most I face who played him maybe for a couple of weeks. You will need longer to master skillshot oriented champs but don't say there is no difference between a pro Xin and an nooblet.
The community is full of unadaptable low skilled people who don't know how to correctly play against another champion, and would sooner cry for nerfs than effectively fight properly. Oh, and also, if you disagree with them, you are automatically a Zed/Lee/Ahri main.
on the other hand. if people are low skilled they don't used a champion to its potential. you can't look at things that way
He did get some nerfs before hitting live.
And the bug fix. Just imagine if he had hit in the original PBE state!
Games with either
or
have a 57% win-rate.
And if you're decent with him, you can expect to have massive success.
He may not be Godyr level right now, but that's only because everyone and their mother considers him pick/ban and new people are picking him up.

ok. yea.
the thing with item winrates is. its not unusual for them to have a far over 50% winrate. because the guy whos ahead will simply have more items than the guy whos behind. so there will always be more items on the winning side of almost every game.
Item win-rates aren't that crazy. Based on their pickup order (a combination of factors like situationality, cost, and overall popularity) you can expect their win-rate to be higher the less often they get the item. This is why items with an 80 to even 40% popularity rate usually only have mild (+0-5%) differences in win-rate. Xin Zhao's stats aren't as wild as some other outliers, but he's still higher than most.
His stats are not even that great across the board.
According to the stats hes dying almost if not the same amount of times hes getting kills. He is almost even in KDA with very little assists and very high deaths/kills.
Yi is the opposite.
He is getting far more kills and and far FAR less deaths and is rated higher than Xin on almost everything.
"decent with him"
Idk how it's possible to suck at xin
Go in when your team isn't there or prepared to follow up, or dive when you don't have enough tank stats yet.
It's hard to suck mechanically at Xin (unless you challenge the wrong person before you ult), but someone like him has LOTS of room for bad decision making.
The level of "suck" is relative. "sucking with Xin" is going even.
i believe his win rate is only 52% because xin has become an almost perma ban. if he was in more games i am sure he's win rate would be a lot higher then 52% right now.
Edit: Not to mention as stated most xin players now are new xin players cause "he's broken" so just about everyone who plays will start playing xin. this should pull his win rate down as new people try to learn him. but he's strong enough that u dont rly have to know what your doing right now as long as yo click buttons and hit someone xin will almost always win a fight regardless of skill. (this is the problem with xin atm)

Ban rate has absolutely nothing to do with win rate.
To counter your other point, Xin has no skill floor. New players won't bring his winrate down, because if you have found a way to play League of Legends, you can play Xin effectively. This has always been the case. This will always be the case.
Well this is good info to know. So why is everyone talking about banning him or you insta lose/win pending on who's team he is on? I'm just trying to educate myself here.
turns out that over 40% of the xin's these days are first time xin's though, his playerbase average games played is amongst the worst atm as anyone jumps onto the op train. Yes, he's not a difficult champion, but haveing no experience at all on him still impacts the winrate quite a bit.
The majority of the people max W first, which apears to have a ~53% winrate The better Xin's max Q first and have a ~63% winrate that way...
He really didn't change at all It's same thing with xin. He either gets ahead early and carries or he just falls behind and is useless There is no Inbetween with xin
Just CC and focus him down...he is useless like master yi
Yes please focus me while I have

killing the rest of your team

Why would you get hydra on Xin when rage blade is so much better?
If I am going to be the primary focus in a fight, or the only one building tanky, I would prefer to have titanic late game (ravenous early and swap)
If we have at least 1 other person getting beefy and going in, then yeah I would go rageblade
where are you seeing 52%? Op.gg has been showing his win rate at 54%+ in each of the last 2 days.

hm.. op.gg disagrees. filter for today.

50% plat for today, 52% diamond, 42% master.
that being said, winrates for a single day are not very useful due to the low amount of overall games on a single day, it varies like crazy from day to day.
and 7 days winrate isnt useful either, because it includes data from before the most recent patch.
thats why i prefer championgg. it includes data only from the current patc cycle and only for plat and above. which is the range riot is abalancing around.
considering the buffs only came in a few days ago, gotta look at win rate over the last few days.

championgg is accumulating the data for the current patch cycle only. thats why the first 3 days after a new patch there is a message that the data is still not available and theyre in the process of collecting it.
and over the last few days he managed to get a winrate of 52% in plat and above. which is the relevant skill range for riots balancing.
Meh, give it a bit of time. He suffers from the same problem as Pantheon: all of his skill is locked into knowing when to go in. Once people understand that, his winrate will climb more.
