What is the counterplay to Yasuo as a melee champion?

So fucking tired of this obnoxious champion Yasuo

He gets a free shield bigger than Poppy's until she has like 2 completed health items which is up more often and doesn't need to be procced manually. 50% true damage after two god damn items (increased further after his ult). 5-8 dashes . Insane wave clear with no cost associated with it whatsoever. More melee range than any other character barring bush Rengar to win every trade (along with his free shield). 900 range poke with no cost that can crit. And in the miracle chance you have a melee character that has a counter poke tool like Poppy Galio Gangplank he can just press W to completely mitigate it while denying farm at the same time.

What is supposed to be this fucker's weakness? Have your jungler camp so you both miss out on exp and give the enemy free control of drake?

Yasuo is quite weak. Can we please jump of the bandwagon already? Tryndamere wins 1v1. MasterYi wins 1v1. Fiora wins 1v1. Riven wins 1v1 MonkeyKing wins 1v1.

So it's a matchup thing then? I've been playing tanks mostly since our team didn't have any, but he just outtanks me while outdamaging our damage champs.

You do realize, we live in a damage meta....right? The only "tanks" that exist are support tanks and Sion, any others are dead to rights. Better off picking a damage user similar to the ones above (Including Jax, his late vs Yas, hooo boy how to make wind boi feel like trash)

Yasuo is a dualist, ofc you lose as tank

The fact you are melee nullifies one of his abilities already. So, there's that. Yasuo is also among the squishiest melee champions in the game, relying entirely on his passive shield to survive other melee champions. His build path is critical strike and attack speed items early on; so, anyone who builds armor early reduces his effectiveness and slows his progress immensely. His dashes require nearby enemy or neutral targets; so, luring him away from minions nullifies another of his abilities. Otherwise, as long as you're tanky enough, you can safely farm your lane and use whatever CC you have at your disposal to lock him down if the foolish thought of engaging you crosses his mind.

He outranges anyone that builds armor and nullifies it almost entirely between his ult, infinity edge, and conqueror.

Fighting him away from minions means he does more damage while moving faster and kiting his opponent with autos and Qs. His shield negates massive swaths of damage in trades and comes up from him continuing to outrange and kite.

Amidst minions he at least takes their aggro, but any time his are alive he can just tuck behind them and auto/Q poke with impunity as you get minion blocked and denied farm.

Mitigated entirely by Conqueror even before he gets any items. I'm not just trying to be dismissive. I appreciate the recommendations, but it just doesn't hold true in my experience.

yasuo's Q is considered a basic attack. it has cooldown based on his attack speed and can critical hit. so you prevent it by building items that reduce attack speed, physical damage and %damage from basic attacks.

other than that it's mostly just about timing your moves effectively so you're not wasting them on his passive shield or his wind wall.
