Lets be honest. There was a certain unique charm playing pre-rework Urgot

Yes, I get the visual looks were AWFUL but from a gameplay aspect he had some very unique stuff that is now lost to new Urgot. You see, Riot still lacks a ranged carry that "locks on" a enemy and rains the enemy with homing bullets. His kit aside from his ult purely revolved around "locking on" and it was actually fun with cohesion. But there were large problems that made Riot move for the rework which was especially about his toxic (putting it mildly here) toplane interaction.

  1. The homing missiles CD was 2 seconds per shot with no additional CD reduction.
  2. His "lock on" while is a small aoe with a long 11 second cooldown on max level had 20% armor reduction. A literal hit to win.
  3. You can** constantly** apply slows on his missiles.
  4. He gets reduced damage and shields while successfully locking on. Making trades suicide.

Say if Riot made an new ranged "lock on champ" and removed the problematic parts of old Urgot, added some new skills and kits (preferably a ult to match) and made his appearance well...a bit more "marketable" I would think its a good addition to league of legends since it would be a "anti-mobile" champ. Especially since the game has changed so much compared to then. What do you think?

I legitimately enjoyed old urgot

I could play him in any role basically, and enjoyed being that horrible abomination who flat out died during his idle animations

His voice sounded so great as well, the way he'd be choking during his laughter, "I detect the presence of scum" "Fear? No... I am the mind killer"

Old Urgot being a ranged melee tanky dps assassin mage tank, was just too close to Lee Sin's gameplay that they had to rework him is all.

That's basically every rework ever.

All I am hoping for is that some day Riot will create a new tank champion with his ultimate. Being able to switch places with an enemy, then causing chaos in their middle should be really fun.

Hopefully this champion will be a Zaunite or Piltovan, since this would also allow them to keep the iconic skill name: Hyper-Kinetic Position Reverser

Idk, I feel new Urgot does a great job of having the same core apeal of old Urgot without being aids, which I didnt think was possible b4 he was released.

I just wish his shield would go back on his W.

Old Urgot was reason to love this game.

Loved the champion to death but his kit was just so linear.

Urgot's core gameplay needed massive changes.

His E-Q spam was bland. It was potentially strong, but was incredibly lame to fight, which is the same reason Yorick got reworked. The W was, again, very strong but kinda sucked to fight. It was fun to play, but absolute cancer for the other side.

His passive was just hidden power. You hit a guy and they do less damage. That's it. Nothing really to think about here, just a bit of a stat check".

Old Urgot had two things really going for him from a design perspective.

  1. His looks. He was ugly as fuck and that was the entire point.
  2. His ult. Genuinely one of the coolest spells in the game.

Old Urgot was my favorite champ in this game. I was probably one of the first people to reach mastery 7 on him when the system came out. https://youtu.be/aS5z3ztuwD0

I really miss old Urgot's entire kit, not his looks visually though.

I like new Urgot but they completely changed what he had and now he's a slower less mobile tank that does damage but gets kited so easily. Old Urgot would shit on Akali or basically any invisible champ. The lock on missiles were so fun to use and it could kill enemies that flashed over walls. Death's dance into an assassin build with mana runes were the way to go back then. I wish riot could bring back his old kit into some new champ.

I bought crabgot literally for the splash art adn how gross it looked in game and i'm actually disappointed that it looks so nice, because there are so few truly ugly skins anymore which is unfortunate
