What a rework means.
A rework is supposed to be old, or unpopular champions with either weird and flawed kits, or just to get them up to date like old taric "which is now amazing idk why nobody plays him more" Instead it's a 50/50 chance it's either, completely insane or insanely complete...shut up it makes sense...
You flip a coin to determine if the next rework will be good or not. Most reworks riot does are generally better overall for everyone. Ryze took some tries but is MUCH more versatile now than before. Whereas before ryze literally mashed the keyboard and killed 2-3 players, now you have to make a strategy and adapt to the fight, single target? start the Q and spam it, an aoe fight? Use the W combo. A scary assasin after my adc? Let me turn my minimap off and watch him die.
Then you get the fiora rework and then add a buff to that. A buff NOBODY asked for.
Old fiora was a huge pain in the ass because of her suped up alpha strike she must have learned from master yi. But thornmail was a godsend against her.
Where as now, she has a slow, cc reflection, and TRUE DAMAGE?! True damage was already a stupid fucking crutch that shouldn't exist but you gave it to her on something so easy to land! Her 2 second cooldown dash with a large hitbox, that gives movement speed, and does true damage. Whoever wanted that, you're an asshole.
Getting back on topic. Ryze is a good rework, fiora is the idea of a bad rework. And then there's the stupid reworks. Aatrox, and basically just him.
Instead of reworking his Q hitbox, or changing his weird kit. They just made his passive manual. While grossly annoying to maintain, it's not impossible. But the fact that he has to use 5 abilities to even get it up makes for a sick erectile dysfunction joke.
Aatrox was great because he punished overly aggressive players with his "Bitch better start running" passive. That stupid fucking fiora decides to 1v1? okay she's at 5% and your passive is active, now you just jump back in and kick her ass, make her sit under tower for 20 minutes. Darius trying to stack bleeds? whoop his bitchass and just take a knee. tryndamere dueled you? you...you might want to run away now he'll actually win.
But he couldnt really take the fight to anyone with common sense, like a malphite, malph has armor and will just gut your attackspeed so good luck trading him, but he's not going to run you down because he's a fucking rock.
Now aatrox can just get bursted by just about any top laner before he can get the cd to cast 5 abilities.
Idk, maybe riot should consider the reworks a bit longer than they do. Because every game I see a fiora on the enemy team or an aatrox on my team, I'm already not having fun.
