The inherent flaw with Ardent Censor

All other items designed to give enchanters extra power item 3107 item 3222 item 3174 all are equally powerful when used on just about any ally (for Mikael's it's assuming they're currently CC'd). However, with item 3504 the item only really benefits TWO classes (Marksman and Skirmishers). This would be fine in most cases since it would mean the item is simply niche and team comp specific. The problem though is that Marksman are required in every team comp of every game in some form, and Ardent Censor synergizes so powerfully with Marksman that it becomes a necessity for any Enchanter support to rush the item as core, which again isn't bad in theory. BUT, enchanter supports who are meant to support their entire team become incentivized to focus solely on the marksman for heals and shields since they would otherwise be wasting huge amounts of potential gold in power should they heal/shield another team member who can't utilize the bonuses of Ardent nearly as well. This creates an awkward playstyle of the support only working for the Marksman rather than for the team because it would feel bad to not utilize an item to its full potential.

Should the idea of ardent censor be kept (buff allies through healing/shielding) then Riot must consider a type of buff from Ardent that will benefit just about any class equally.

Add Zeke's Convergence to that list. Pretty much only good when used with marksmen / auto attack based champions.

Would say to go without the lifesteal since that would still be overwhelming to rush and in the late game, but adaptive AD/AP based on who is healed would be great.

True the point about what classes benefit most from Ardent, Ardent is especially strong when used by Bard supports (which I play Bard a lot), keeping Heals on ground in preparedness of team fights will benefit 3 champs plus he has a Heal that he can lay on a team member, proc 4 times so each member of the team would get one, and if I go full build and get cdr 45% with mastery in total build bard can proc a heal on a teammate each 6.6 sec

Generally, if I feel the tension brewing I start laying down shrines to prepare for a fight and I alert my team to grab shrine if they will go in. I keep laying shrines as the cd comes up in team fights.

I like the mana and spd boost from ardent, but I wish they would add either some armor or mr to it so that prioritizing ardent would also benefit the carrier.

My only real issue with the item is the sheer gold efficiency it offers. I did a number crunch on it out of curiosity yesterday. If you take into account the passive, and assume that you are keeping the buff on a minimum of one person at all times (You wouldn't be buying it if you couldn't do that) then the item is giving about 4200g worth of stats for 2300g, and It gets increasingly valuable the more people you can simultaneously apply the buff to. The baseline though, is that this item is going to be giving you a minimum of approximately 182.6% gold efficiency, which is pretty crazy. In my opinion the passive should be changed to only offer the on-hit damage and attack speed; No healing whatsoever. (Maybe buff the damage value to compensate if necessary) I think that would be a significant step toward curbing this "Rush 3 crit items and become a god" meta for ADCs, because they won't get the equivalent of a full lifesteal item just from being hit with the item 3504 buff, which would incentivize them to build lifesteal early on instead of more crit.
