I've looked more into it and tried a few things.
BTW I only put 3 boxes at blue and 1 gromp..
But it seems if you attack blue mid air after it leaps out, it heals back up until the fear wears off.
You can see in the video that the buff drops down 200ish health but continuously heals.
Seems if I put my boxes closer to the bush so they don't proc immediately at 1:37 it doesn't happen.

Pretty much my thoughts on it. There is a video showing it so it can't be that I am imagining it. I am just not sure what causes it to happen.

I don't know you so I can't say I play more than you.. but I really only play this champion.
It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does it delays you quite severely, and means you have to tank blue buff for a few hits.. which can be detrimental if you have to use one stack of refillable.

Yes, yes that is happening. And it is new. Shaco main here. It happens, when the champion isn't simultaneously hitting the buff, taking away some of Shacos shenanigans.
So, it is a nerf, that wasn't shown in the patchlog.
THE FUCK is Riot doing again. 2 times after another Thunderlords is broken with Shaco, they ruin Assassin-builds and shove all Shaco mains in this god aweful Pinkward copy mode.
And no communication from Riots side. Not to reasonably written ones and not to "sassy" ones like the one of OP. Unbelievably bad community work there, Riot. Shame.

Thundelord's bug is fucked though.
