"Animation Cancelling requires skill."

"It's a bug... but does that really matter?"

"We're not biased when it comes to popular Champions..."

And that's why I'm slowly moving to other games.

"Hey, Yasuo is getting one extra Auto Attack during his ult, adding about 500 free damage to his ult late game, should we change it?" "Nah, he's fine."

"Hey, have you heard that Twisted Fate is able to reset Mikael's Crucible CD with his W? Maybe we should make TF unnable to buy the item until it's fixed." "ARE YOU CRAZY?? DISABLE TF NOW!!"

GULAG 4 U2 votes

The yasuo one auto bug was a lot less broken than the second one... and he was changed, just not hotfixed.

TequilaZombie2 votes

While TF's interaction was indeed a bigger problem, the solution could be much simpler. Make TF unnable to buy MC and it's all set. It's not an item TF buys anyway.

Yasuo ult having one extra auto on the other hand was a bit smaller, but it was a disable worthy bug that deserved a hotfix, instead of a full patch of waiting. It added a enourmous amount of power to his already strong ult and inflated his winrate to about 55% if I'm not mistaken.

GULAG 4 U2 votes

54%. Its bad but not as hag as the Leona bugs, aka nerfs didn't went live, and she wasn't hotfixed neither. 56.

because Riven has a massive playerbase that prides itself on abusing bugs and gimmicks to become oppressive mobile DPS with extreme lockdown

same exact reason why the Lee Sin rework back in like S4 or whatever never went through

Steelflame3 votes

Nor did the Riven rework either!

Edge of Daybreak1 votes

The riven rework was buffs to her if you knew how to play her. I don't think you want riven buffed.

TequilaZombie1 votes

I want her reworked in the same manner as Akali, Shaco, and Talon.

I want her reworked in the same manner as Akali, Shaco, and Talon.

That's a weird spectrum. Shaco was the highest winrate jungler in the game while Talon needs and is getting buffs through lethality items getting buffs and akali needs help atm.

Adriqnohee1 votes

What's really weird about that list, is that the only one who actually got an actual remake was Talon, the other two were just changed a little bit until their actual VGU starts.

Steelflame1 votes

It removed her ability to use her abilities to gapclose as well though. She had more IN combat damage, but less ability to jump you, because she could only keep 1 stack of her passive up at a time, instead of the 3 that is what we currently deal with. She has to use the attacks between skills, or she loses that stack of her passive entirely.

Anidan1 votes

because both of the proposed reworks for those 2 champions were complete garbage.

That might be why the community had a large pushback against them. The reworks were crap, and they were for champions with large playerbases.

Steelflame2 votes

You mean just like how its crap to play vs them? And those champs don't have larger player bases than the rest of the champion pool combined, thats a fact.

Anidan1 votes

It's crap to play against most of the champions in this entire game when they're played well so that's an extremely flimsy excuse. Those reworks were crap and everyone knows it. You realize it wasn't just the playerbases of those champions pushing against it, though, right? People want good reworks. People don't want reworks just for the sake of changing something they don't like - that's lazy and speaks of unfavorable bias that means your opinion on their balance should be instantly ignored.

People oppose crap reworks. There's a reason Koggy got his reverted too, or are we just going to say it's only Riven and Lee that Riot pays any attention to? All 3 of those reworks were crap. Morde is slated for another rework already, last I knew, for that matter. Ryze receives a rework roughly once a year. People don't want crap reworks.

I don't know how many CC abilities she's immune to with that, but Ezreal and Tristana can do the same with Blitzcrank/Naut hooks. Never tried to dodge Poppy/Yasuo with Ezreal E so no clue about that.

The only thing I don't like is hers doesn't have a wind up time like Ezreal and Tristana. If Riven actually had to wait a second to dash, then I'm fine with the immunity, but otherwise it's over kill and probably just a bug in the code.

Meep Man5 votes

It's not quite the same... extremely similar but not quite. At least, as far as how much of an issue it is at least. Riven got off two casts of abilities here while Ezreal and Tristana's only work because their abilities have cast times and therefore can't be interrupted. Plus, both Tristana's and Ezreal's aren't huge damage dealers unless you build them in a weird way.

but she negates the cc neither ez or trist will do that

they will use their spell during the cc but are stunned anyway

this looks like something else to me

Meep Man1 votes

I think Riven IS ACTUALLY under the effects of the CC, but the animations of the spells last long enough to hide most CC. For example, if Sion used his ultimate on her from max distance for a 2+ second stun, she would probably still be stunned afterwards. Difference here is that multiple spells are going off due to animation chaining.

Its completely different.

Ezreal and Tristana still get the CC, just where and when they lands, not where it hits. That is due to the cast.

Riven has no cast. Riven is breaking the CC, not delaying.

Riot said that they are fixing it, probably implementing it in 7.1. Which is in a couple of days.

If they don't by then, we start raising pitchforks.

I think the boards raises pitchforks at everything anyways.

Fondling Gems11 votes

We never raise pitchforks. That would require us putting them down.

Enlegacy7 votes

Well there has to have been some time where you first raised it, right?

Unless you where born with a pitchfork raised, in which case you really should apologize to your mom.

I lol'd so hard I nearly spit my drink out ><

Fondling Gems1 votes

Don't be silly, we are the boards, why should we apologize to anyone?

Because Riven makes money, that's why. They will never touch her, Lee, Yasuo, Zed or any of the other money makers.

Welcome to F2P.

Except they did.

Welcome to Selective Memory.

Just like how they took 3 AD off of Vayne and called it a nerf, and then shortly after buffed her Q into absurdity and made it work on towers

Or when they tried to rework their poster child, but people freaked out so they just buffed his ult instead.

Remind me when they ever seriously nerfed Riven, or when they ever fixed any of her bugs that she abuses.

Anidan1 votes

You mean that shitty Lee Sin rework that made him completely based around his Auto Attacks? That rework? The one so bad it deserved to be shot down? That one? You could use much better examples, mate.

I don't think she is broken, but I certainly think that the ability to break CC on demand by abusing bugs isn't healthy for the game.

ABlueQuaker1 votes

The only time I'm okay with a champion breaking non-reducible CC (i.e. Knock-Ups/Asides/Backs) is if you overwrite it with QSS/Cleanse and a Dash.
