Why people believe that Yasuo is a counter to Vladimir?

I am a main Vladimir and I must say, it is the complete opposite, Yasuo is countered by Vlad. And I will prove that:

  1. http://champion.gg/matchup/Vladimir/Yasuo/Middle Vladimir has a 54.16% winrate against Yasuo in middle lane. Yasuo actually has a 54.6% winrate against Vlad in the top lane, but that's because Vlad is more commonly used as a top laner, while generally only Vlad mains play him at mid lane. Also, top lane is a longer lane that greatly favors all-ins during the early game. It is also the easiest lane to gank.
  2. Instead of starting item 1054 or item 1052 against Yasuo, you must start item 1029 + 5 pots. This way, you can whitstand Yasuo's attempts to all-in and will also outsustain him because it is likely that he will start with only one pot, while you have five.
  3. Yasuo cannot windwall Vladimir's Q. At least not the damage portion, but the windwall can actually prevent the healing particle from returning to Vlad. This is not a big deal during the early game though, as Vlad has poor sustain early anyway.
  4. It is suggested to use movement speed quintessences. This way, if Yasuo tries to all-in you during the early game, you have a better chance to escape.
  5. Yasuo can opt to rush item 3155 and negate Vlad's damage during the early game. But this means that Yasuo will have his powerspike delayed because Hexdrinker has no crit or attack speed.
  6. If Yasuo tries to hit the third Q (tornado) Vladimir can pool it.
  7. Yasuo can only 1x1 Vlad late game, and only if he manages to land his Tornado.
  8. Yasuo's mobility means that he can dodge most skillshots, making him a frustrating opponent for most mages. But since Vladimir's spells are all targeted or point-blank, Yasuo cannot dodge them.

Overall, Yasuo can't beat Vladimir if he knows what he is doing. Maybe Yasuo can beat a Vladimir that is inexperienced with that matchup. I have plenty of games with Vladimir, though, and I've came to the conclusion that without jungle intervention, a good Vlad will most of time beat Yasuo. You are free to contest this and say how Yasuo can beat Vlad, but please, accusing others of not playing that matchup or saying "I am not even going to argue" is not something that contributes to a healthy discussion.

Btw, this is my actual profile: http://matchhistory.br.leagueoflegends.com/pt/#match-history/BR1/201721804?champion=8 As I said, I have plenty of games with him.

The exact same argument to your first point can be made in the opposite order: Yasuo is most often played mid. Thus Vlad gets the advantage of an extremely skilled Vlad versus an unknown level Yasuo mid, whereas top you've got an unknown Vlad versus a somewhat unknown (more skilled) Yasuo - and the top matchup goes farther in Yasuo's favour than the mid goes the other way.

Pretty sure Vlad's cooldown on his pool is longer than Yasuo's tornado. Also, if you pool his tornado, that makes you ripe for an easy gank as Vlad has no other escape...

Yasuo doesn't need to rush Hexdrinker because he's a lot more all-in heavy than most mid laners. While someone like Ahri (who I believe Vlad does extremely well against) needs to repeatedly poke you down with spells (and therefore you can heal up and outlast her big time), Yasuo can just damage you a bit and then land a tornado and all-in. If he hits it, he has you.

I think the evidence says that it's mostly a skill matchup, that goes very slightly in Yasuo's favor. The win rates probably balance out a bit because Vlad will never be caught in an all-AD or a no-tank comp whereas Yasuo will sometimes (i.e. I'd rather have the mid Vlad on my team than the mid Yasuo to be honest, even if I expect Yasuo to win lane).

You also need to account more for jungle interaction. If you ignore jungle interaction, Nasus is probably the strongest champion in the game. Pretty hard to kill him without help if he just farms carefully and ignores you for the most part. Doesn't matter if you outfarm him significantly, his stacks will be worth more and eventually he'll beat you. Junglers are a thing though, and they make Nasus a lot weaker - they do the same to Vlad. Yasuo can survive ganks more easily than Vlad can, especially if Vlad's pool is being used in lane.

Yet according to literally the exact same site you used, Yasuo is one of Vlads hardest counters?

You are looking to his winrate at top lane. At mid lane, Vladimir has a higher winrate against Yasuo.

As I said, top lane is a long lane. Being a longer lane than mid, it is easier to all-in champions because their tower will be far away. Also, it is very easy to gank top lane, when compared to mid lane. It is easy for Yasuo to win against Vlad WITH JUNGLE INTERVENTION.

Also, there are many people who play Vlad top and are not his main, Vlad is a less common champ for mid lane, generally only Vlad mains take him at mid lane.

It is still possible to win against Yasuo on the top lane. Just don't push your lane, freeze it. And don't take Ignite, please.

did you not catch the topic of this thread or?

regardless of champion matchups a "main" of any champ can deal with just about anyone, even if it is a direct counter. Also your success compared 2 others will vary game to game

Just proof that yasuo is broken that's all

Considering Yasuo can all in whenever he wants and Vlad sucks at fighting all ins, i'd say he does pretty well against Vlad.

Vlad can avoid Yasuo's all ins and poke him from a safe distance.

How exactly? Is not like Yasuo has a meaningful cooldown to his dash.

You can freeze the lane. Most Vlad players push early game, and this can allow Yasuo to all-in Vlad safely, so don't push the lane.

If Yasuo ever tries to all-in you, start with Cloth + 5 pots to diminish his damage.

You can poke Yasuo because none of Vlad's spells are skillshots - just break his shield with an auto-attack, then Q him. Or E him. To be honest that is one of the reasons why Vlad does so well against Yasuo - Generally, Yasuo's dashes and windwall mean that it is very difficult to poke him, because most mages are reliant on skillshots. However, Vladimir is different because all of his spells are targeted.

Yasuo's shield means Vlad's long CD's are ineffective at slowly chunking him out of lane, while Yasuo has easily spammed early wave clear.

Yasuo can engage onto Vlad and deal far more damage at all points of the early game than Vlad.

Yasuo doesn't have to change from his build path since Vlad doesn't have kill pressure onto him, but the opposite is true.
