Why do people play this "badly designed" game?

People are always extremely toxic and talking about how much they hate League in game.

When someone is feeding, they talk about how much they hate this game and their teams, and how Riot sucks at designing and that they don't know how to balance and "fuck riot". They dont seem to enjoy the game, the same happens to me on occasion.

If so why do people play this game that lacks so many fundamental quality of life things like AFK LP lose prevention, troll prevention, etc.

I have to say the rank system in league might be the worst ive ever seen in my entire life. Climbing is a pain and completely unrewarding most of the time.

Therefore my main question is, why is this game so addicting, or why do people play it so much.

Because the overall balance state of the game is an opinion of the players. And for the most part, the only people who feel the need to express themselves are the complainers

I've played games with far worse bugs and far worse balance. Why? Because they were fun.

Why else do you play any game, but to enjoy yourself?
