How you feel when you win those 50 minute games.

Archenz··128 votes·6,660 views

Those games were you know, that if you lose one teamfight, its over for you. Both nexus are open, anything is game. You didnt stomp early, they didnt stomp you early.

But somehow, its like faker himself entered your soul, and everyone starts playing like mechanical gods.

Win or Lose. Thats what you play League for, these games. At least I do

Edit: This usually happens when matchmaking actually works and you get paired with fairly evenly skilled teams.

Only adc that could ever pull that off in an equal game. God I hate that champion.

Games like these are the games where I will gladly accept my lost LP if I were to lose. Games that both teams play well and don't throw are always amazing games.

kind of see it as the opposite, trying so hard to win for 45 minutes + just to lose. really feels bad

Or, it was a really fun match. Winning isn't everything even in Ranked.

I like to learn from every game, loss or win, but the games were it is a serious competition 40 min + are the best. If things are evenly matched, then win or lose I know I have something to look back on the footage and learn from.

Funny thing, after this game, i entered a massive winning spree. Followed by a bunch of horrible teams, and now im back were i started xD

100% agree. My favorite game I ever played was. An even match for 45min then enemy botlane Quit because it was taking to long the 3v5 continued on for another 10 min.

while fighting we chatted with enemy team they were good guys just as sad as we were, that we would never know who's team was better. After an ace, back, baron we met them midlane inhibitor rolled into there base took the nexus turrets brought the nexus down to 1 hp and that's when my team surrendered giving the win to our honourable opponents who deserved it

Superior Tactics1 votes

That's an awesome thing to do. I hope the honorable opponents have given you and your team the well deserved honors in return.

Lol nope this was seasons before honour was even a thing

Dude, these games are rare for me. But, I can say that this is the main reason I am still playing this game because there a massive amount of characters to choose from and countless ways to play each character. I play as Teemo "Squirrel Sniper" and my roommate plays as Shay "Dragon Lady" and we had an hour long match holy shit it was intense... It was so close that I had butterflies in my stomach. But, I took down their team 1 vs. 4 and helped save the day. LVL 5 Mastery and proud to say I play as Teemo. Haters gonna hate but, I play to win. Good Topic Post :D Peace

Superior Tactics1 votes

Teems as main with lvl 5 mastery here. Haters just hate him cause he kills them too often ;)

Sulghunter3 votes

Lvl 5 mastery Teemo should get someone perma-banned.

Superior Tactics1 votes

My wish is to master him even further if Riot finally allows it, just to troll you even more O:) xD

It would be awesome if Riot would allow only Teemo to be ranked higher, just for annoyance

And it's even better if the match is a series/promo. I remember a match from a couple of weeks ago... My whole team fed their lanes, I was 4/0 Malphite. Had a few teamfights mid-game and we were making a come-back but it was delayed because someone in our team felt like he needed to die before a teamfight or the adc and jungler wouldn't group. In the end, we won a few teamfights in a row(no aces tho) and after Baron we killed 3 guys from their team. The enemy only had a turret at their Nexus, so did we. We were heading towards their base, but some sneaky Tryndamere was in our jungle, heading for a backdoor. Recalled quick and it felt so nice seeing his attack speed going below 1/s when I used E. He had GA and ult, got my turret and he aimed for the Nexus but my team finally destroyed the enemy Nexus and Victory. Got 7 honors that match, carried my team like a madman just because it was my last series match.

TotalJerk2 votes

Relieved, because it should've been over a long time ago. The only reason a game drags out like that is because both teams keep throwing.

Archenz32 votes

Nah, believe it or not.

Sometimes, SOMETIMES. The matchmaking actually works (GASP) and places you with people in your skill level. So the game drags on since your all skilled

Gorgannan5 votes

Actually, I find it's usually when half of each team is feeding, and other other half is fed.

Close games always end pretty early for me. It's close all the way, so the teamfights are fair, but one team peeled better, so they have 3 guys survive after an ace and get an inhibitor and 2 turrets.

At that point it snowballs.

Orbv2 votes

I think close games tend to last longer in general, but my longest games have always been a case of one team doing really well early, and then making bad decisions, leading to the better scaling team/wave clear comp to drag it on.

I think the closest games I see are an early game team gets fed but the better late game team holds out and starts winning fights to turn around a big gold lead.

These games are games that even if I lose it's still one of the best games of my life.

Alëk2 votes

Best game for me was a 62 minute game. I was playing Sion (reworked) and got fed early. They had taken 2 of our inhib turrets and their inhibs. We had one person back at base killing super minions. I used my ult to go into their base where we had destroyed both nexus turrets and 1 inhib. We went straight for nexus and were within 1 auto-attack of destroying it when the inhibitor respawned. At the time we were really low from tanking while attacking nexus... soooo they aced us. Pushed to base and won. I cried. Well no, but that was one of the most frustrating games I have ever played. But it was so fucking amazing. Like seriously. It was fucking amazing.

Call Me Corleone1 votes

I feel bad because I have stolen games like that as shaco. When an inhib is down I convince my team to let them push, sweep out vision in the enemy jg, and sit in the fog. When they push I q over the wall and back door so hard. It feels dirty but to pull that off feels so good. Especially in a game where a forced team fight will decide it either way.

Superior Tactics1 votes

oh but backdooring is just a strategy. Nothing dirty about that... I remember sails off to a long time ago A time when Eve wasn't remade yet... 30-40% of my games were won by backdooring.

I forgot that feeling as I stopped playing Eve after the remake... But I got her on an Aram just a few weeks ago and ended the game with a good ol' backdoor. The cheers of the teammates, hate from the enemies and the joy off pulling it off succesfully <3 I love that feeling xD

Only Play Darius1 votes

Winning those 50 minute games is exhilirating. It's all teamwork and with respawn timers that long, a single ward can make a pick that can ensure victory.

(Single ward) Or allow tryndamere to tp into the base to take the nexus

While it wasn't a close 50+ minute game, it was satisfying winning from that far behind

Only Play Darius2 votes

I play Nasus, I know exactly what you are talking about. Course I can't play him right now because Darius is getting picked every single game lol.

Call Me Corleone2 votes

I've mained darius since season 3, and I'm so sorry. I know what you mean.

chipi991 votes

What? When ever I play Darius the enemy Nasus knowingly rushes Frozen Heart and from there its either help other lanes or GG.

Only Play Darius1 votes

Darius now rushes Black Cleaver and is much harder to gank thanks to his heal, and Frozen heart got double nerfed. If you are playing Darius right then Nasus shouldn't have a FH until 20 minutes in.

chipi991 votes

Forgot Darius got reworked.

I often think and admit. I hate when people don't Surrender at 30 minutes when you down 20 kills or more while 1 guy says "WE can still win." All I want to do is slap him, but I'm happy to "Eat Crow," when we do. But often those 50 minute wins Require special champs who only either get strong over time or are pure Late game's.

Superior Tactics1 votes

I've had so many of those and still won. Mostly what I tell my team at that point is to simply not do what they have been doing. This ranges to many different mistakes possible in the game ofcourse. Being behind and bound to lose is actually a good thing. Ofcourse many people like to surrender, but I see it as a way of learning. A challenge. Change your play, learn from the enemy and try to still outplay them.

I've noticed, once you're behind it mostly helps a lot to defend and ward well around your base to secure as much jungle and river objectives as you possibly can. The enemy is gonna want to enter your base and it's a good opportunity to rake in some counter kills + gold. Crawled back up that way many times.

In particular I remember a game I had, back in season 1. The game took 1 hour and 20 minutes. We were locked in base and couldn't do much more then defend, which we did pretty effectively (hence the gametime). Lost Baron to the enemy and we were sure they were going to try to rush us down at that point. The surrender vote failed and I'm so glad it did. We managed to ace them while defending, having 3 allies up and alive. Luckily all three were exactly the three who had the summoner skill teleport and a minion wave just approached the enemy top inhibitor tower. We rushed it as mad dogs and won the game.

MalzaharAnyLane1 votes

In what meta are you playing that this still works?

In the S4/S5 metas the enemy just holds all five of you at one inhib and tower and then laughs while a fourth and possibly fifth depending on how far the gold lead is, guy split pushes. Meanwhile, you're so far behind on gold that the enemy team just has to wait until 1-2 people get impatient enough to go counter the split and then dive when they are certain enough dangerous CC has left the pokefest that they can dive and ignore the laser turrets which are weaker than the outer and tier 2 turrets.

I prefer it as the attacker and defender if it was how you described, necessitating that winners push through a single inhibitor and right into the nexus like a wrecking ball, but no MOBA actually encourages that behavior, it's more conservative to draw the game out another 10 minutes and let pressure win for you in case you fuck up and get aced with your 15K gold lead, the pressure will make it that the winning team that just threw the game can't lose because all the lanes are pushed too far in.

Win or lose those are the most satisfying games. Unfortunately theyre extremely, EXTREMELY rare in my experience.

Archenz1 votes

There rare because riots match making is pretty garbage. Either your teammates stomp the enemy in every lane, or they stomp you. Solo q climbing is mostly based on luck.

Hard Penetrator1 votes

Depends from a role, as initiator that can basically win or lose whole game by 1 bad decision i feel relived.

As support I feel tired. As carry I feel accomplished.

And there are some games... When you go veigar bot, and you have to backdoor enemy turrets at 45 mins in while your team try to kill full tank Tahm Kench that is running around rift practically immortal. When you have to either one shot full build trist or get aced. When every min past 40 is living hell and everybody build mres to make you feel miserable and sad. Fuck those games.
