Which is the core issue of the game right now. Which is the reason that tanks are unplayable, which is the reason you are getting oneshotted by someone with just a slight lead.

You can't invest all your gold into defense, because otherwise you won't do damage. Staying alive longer in fights to soak damage is no longer a win condition for tanks, because you don't soak damage, you just pop.

The universal win condition has changed to "Oneshot them before they can oneshot you"

And i gotta admit, it ain't fun, riot. ##We need balance between offense and defense

Things like this are what put people off from playing tanks....

A 5/6 Mage with no void staff can do 55% of my health with a combo even while I have 2 Magic resist items + Conditioning rune.

If I remember I also Red smited her.

If she had a Void Staff then I'd say "Yeah okay that seems about right" but she doesn't.

Bingo. People finally understand the issue. Outside of defensive items like Zhonyas and Hex, any other defensive item easily just gets outscaled by one damage item. "Just build Armor vs Trynd, he wont do shit" -He buys Lord Doms and proceeds to fuck my Shen ass in less than 3 seconds even with W up- And if people want to know why Darius fucks you in the ass harder now compared to last season, its because % Pen got reworked to include base, so everyone's % Pen was changed except Yasuo's (for good reason). % Pen should have been Half Base + Half Bonus at least.

I miss the old league where you had the decision between survivability or damage, and both were equally strong. This entire game is all about who can snowball the fastest, who can deal dmg the fastest and finish the fight the fastest. It's a shame, honestly.

The problem is that so many bruiser items make them as tanky as tanks. item 3053 item 3812 item 3026

And many bruiser items, also come overcharged with cdr which buff up defensive abilities, such as Jax E and Riven E. item 3071 / item 3078 item 3161

These items give bruisers defensive capabilites/health, and AD.. While tank items only give... tank stats... Tanks need to scale more with tank stats if they want to compete and/or bruiser items need to be revisited.

Don`t forget that if you are building defensive items, you are going to have trouble damaging objectives like Baron, structures, Dragon, etc... Meaning you are JUST BUILDING TO FIGHT OTHER CHAMPIONS.

Also name one objective that deals magic damage? Just baron and his avoidable corrosive thing? Name any others? So by building magic resist I only get to be more tanky against baron and against magical champs?

The only consolation you get is from the demolish rune, a rune that tanks have to get just to deal damage to 1 building after a cooldown that lasts over half a minute.

A team full of tanks has to win groupfights MULTIPLE TIMES to win the game.

A team full of damage dealers only need to win once before they clear inhib turret, inhib, nexus turrets and then nexus

This is literally what I was about to talk about. Let me give you an example. Rito on the first league page has all the different classifications of champs e.g. fighter, mage, carries. In this they also have Tank. This is where they have Malphite listed. As a tank. Not as a mage. Not as an assassin. A tank. He is meant to be a tank. Normally Tanks cannot move too fast or deal too much damage. Let alone one shot someone. I am constantly finding AP malphites though. Not tank. Not a single item will be bought on him that is considered his normal build. Rito went through so much to try and make him a tank again. With the changes to his passive making him larger with more armor and his stats were supposedly scaling better with armor too. Still.... no tank malphite. Wanna know why? why would I go tank Malphite when you can chunk/slow people with a Q that not only is back up within a couple seconds, but grants A SIGNIFICANT amount of movement speed to run away till it is back up. I was singed with boots of swiftness and I could not catch up with him while ulting or using my W. That is ridiculous and makes no sense. Then pair this up with his full combo? He can blow up basically anyone on my team and nearly would one shot me with full MR. Am I saying he is broken?? no, obviously you just need to work around dodging his ult and he becomes useless. My point thought is why does he have such significant AP stats if he is supposed to be a tank????? So I 100% agree with you. I would say Rito's balance team is too focused on TFT, but their balance team has continued to be more useless than the degree I got in 2017. My point being that even on this single champ meant to be a tank, it is far better to go damage than tank build. Even in the jungle right now Nunu is only strong because his stats are insane and he is about to be nerfed. Other than that, the main junglers are bruisers or assassins

I totally agree with League being very unfun to play while everyone is just oneshotting each other but I guess its the goal for Riot to make the game get more views from edgy young kids

Not just damage. True damage to be more precise. Nowdays there are so many champions with it+every conq user. It just doesnt pay off. And then you have various armor and mr shreds on top of being unable to pick both armor and mr in runes. It is just sad at this point to build resistances unless you have in built scaling on them.

When they both are equal then you get the whole "only hypercarries and tanks are viable" nonesense which is even more boring and unfun. Tanks will no and should not be immortal no matter how you want them to be. If you want to say that damage outscales defense way to fast and hard then you can have a more reasonable argument.

the problem is that there aren't enough champions with unique stats empowering their abilities.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think these are all champions and the only champions that get bonuses to their abilities by purchasing defensive items. That is items that grant either armor or magic resist.

the primary stats are Attack Damage or Ability Power. Hence why it's better to buy those instead of trying to buy other stats.
