About the upcoming Skarner changes
If you haven't seen the upcoming changes to our beloved land lobster, check them out here:

But some things hit me as a Skarner main that this change will do to him;
Skarner will now have the highest base AD in the game: 142 at level 18, up from 132 (he was tied with
, but he now even exceeds mega Gnar who had 139 at 18) Oh the
procs!!!
He is losing 15 MS. This hurts him, as he has no gapcloser, and it also reduces any % MS increase from items or his W.
Losing a lot of his tanky base health, as he is losing 12 health per level. Couple that with the changes to his W, which no longer has a base shield but instead scales off of his max health (12-16%) Couple that with the nerf to Cinderhulk in the patch notes that decrease the bonus health ratio form 25% to 15%. Skarner is going to be far less tanky with these changes, especially early when he is on his initial clear.
He loses his old passive where he can stun, which moved to his E, but that helped him on his early clears, as he would take less damage overall.
And he lost his bonus MS/AS on his Q, which was huge for his clears. Especially since the new crystal buff doesn't effect every camp. Or help him when he is ganking a lane.
The changes are still new, but what I forsee is that Skarner, who IMO was a great champ, has lost most of his tools, especially early, in favor of having a slightly better late game and possibly godly jungle control. As long as the enemy team decides to fight in a very small circle that is mostly impassible terrain. Skarner is going to have one of the worst early clears, but no mana issues if he is near a zone.
I'm optimistic (really, even through what Riot has done to some of my past favorite champs
) and hope that they continue to take feedback and see what works/can be improved, such as skarner keeping the zone buffs for X seconds after leaving the zone. Or even more crystals (top/bot river brush) but we will see.
