Here it is, for those who don't remember.

Now could someone explain to me how Kleptomancy's RNG does not fall under the ''Output RNG'' that Ghostcrawler said is not good for League?

I don't feel like I played better if I get 3 gold bags before first back. Nor do I feel like I got outplayed when all I get is mana pots and wards.

Considering this video shows that you guys over at Riot do understand what kind of RNG is good for a game like League, I really just don't get how on earth this thing hit live.

Hey you know I do remember that video

Meddler actually talked about this in one of his Quick Gameplay Thoughts posts in December. I recommend taking a look at the whole post, since he covers a lot of different examples, but here's an excerpt about klepto.

Kleptomancy - Somewhat randomized loot create a series of decisions to make around what to do with your new stuff and a bunch of exciting moments. Excessive impact of randomness is controlled by a large sample size (getting a lot of loot over the course of the game), controls on which items you can get at any point in time based off what you've recently got and how far into the game it is (no Elixir of Skill early on for example). Randomness on gold bags is also somewhat mitigated by players being able to choose to opt out of the randomized reward. Giving up another keystone also helps opponents respond to early spikes in power especially (lacking a combat keystone for direct trades).

If Klepto wants to be "Ghostcrawle-approved" then it should have a cooldown, and when conditionally triggered when off-CD it will present the player running the rune with a choice between various things that they could get, and the player has to make choices between for instance, getting either gold or potion or ward.

Though tbh, I also kinda feel if implemented like this it might be a bit too OP and versatile in some sense, given Klepto is already quite busted even without player agency.

Every rng has no place in league not just the output rng I am more of refering to crit

Elemental dragons are almost ok

Klepto feels god awful right now. I play Ezreal, and a lot of games I'll have to play safe and just Q poke, and I'll have a 400 gold lead before level 5 because I got good RNG. I don't feel like I really earned it, and I feel like I'd literally be trolling if I take any other keystone. Then the next game, I'm winning lane, and Q'ing people on cooldown non-stop for 10 minutes and I've got next to no gold, some potions, and some wards I can't use without going to top side midlane because there's so much coverage between my trinket, my jg, and my support already. In those games, I feel like I'm trolling for taking Klepto instead of the other way around. It's so inconsistent that I honestly don't know if it's going to be worth it over another keystone in a given game. Some games I'll say "Yeah, this is definitely going better than if I took Press the Attack, Aery, Comet, Electrocute or even a fully stacked Dark Harvest right now.", but the very next I could be thinking "Jesus, I might as well have Predator if I want a gold income rune so I can use it to escape when I greed for this extra wave"

I still don't like plants...

I mean, they're a very VERY minor nuisance, but just dislike them a lot compared to the Jungle Buffs we had in 2016. Those were so much fun to play around :(
