I am gutted by mastery level 6 and 7

Today I read the patch notes and I was happy, I thought YEAH let's go get my Evelynn to level 6. So I got my first S and I was so enthousiastic I went to hextech crafting to see how this combining tokens thing works. Then it hit me right in the face: 500 blue essence... Well okay I'll dissenchant the random stuff I got... wait it only gives me yellow essence, where is my blue essence I have about 195 blue. Hmmmmm

Riot is trying to suck more money from it's audience once again. I thought that last year they reported earnings of in the billions of dollars, yet they have to squeeze every penny with a lootcrate system that's seen in nearly every single f2p game on the net these days. What's next Add-on's + DLC + Lootcrate + monthly fee? Come on EA ehh I mean Rito.

I am a dedicated player, I played about 3000 games last season and I'm over 1000 this season and this is how I am rewarded? It feels like a suckerpunch. It's not like I am getting more hextech crates or keys than others, well at least not a lot more..

I can't stand this. I want to show how proud I am of my main, I want to show people that I am a level 7 worthy Evelynn, not that I am some dude that can pay for it. It's a disgusting psychological trick, because Riot knows people want this even though it doesn't really do anything for you except change some cosmetics and still I want my bloody mastery level 7. So I guess, I'll be headed for the god damn RP shop *hurl.

People cried that there was nothing meaningful to spend blue essence on. Now that there is they continue. Amazing, it really never ends does it?

I have a DJ Sona skin shard that i'm patiently saving up for. I could cry that I don't get my free stuff right away and then spend money anyway to try and get it quicker, or I can just take the free stuff while being patient.

Hextech crafting is an amazing double win... patient players get free stuff. Impatient players give riot money, while not affecting the actual gameplay.

People who complain about this shit then go spend money anyway on it get NO sympathy from me. If you really cared then you wouldn't add to stats that justify annoying micro transactions anyway.

If you don't mind I have my own subset of reasons to justify my opinion and I don't need someone telling me what I should or should not do based on trivial arguments.

I can be pissed about whatever the f I like, and in this case it's not about patience, I can buy this right now, but I feel like the gaming industry is trying to milk everything as much as possible while being on top of a mountain of gold.

I used to frequent casinos and they give a way all sorts of stuff just to keep you happy, but Riot seems to just milk us, while refusing to listen to the community just for their personal gains. Another company that was once established to be by and for gamers, a company that was great and everybody loved has now also changed into a global conglomerate trying to harvest as much money as possible (I'm talking about you Blizzard).

The gaming industry is changing into the Hollywood/Music industry. It's all about numbers, while they are become the biggest entertainment industry in the world. Yes we do get a lot back, we do get more competition and better games, but if you want to play 3 or 4 games you are going to run out of money or you are going to have to be patient in every single one of those games.

That's great that you can be mad at whatever you want, and i'll be free to call you out for being over dramatic? Again no sympathy for people who complain about something, then immediately afterwards go to support it by spending money on it.

Riot also said they'll be allowing you buy "new mystery champ item" using IP so you can get more blue essence/champ shards. Unfortunately that item isn't being shipped this patch

Honestly I think this system is kind of dumb. A lot of the stuff Ibget from chests is skins for champs that I don't own. I have gotten only 5 champ shards total on 2 accounts with at least $50 spent on each for chests. This system honestly hates me and never gives me champ shards, which is what I want mostly.

looks like you can get it through disenchant, don't have much experience with it myself though

you just need to disenchant blue essence that you get from the champion shards that are useless anyway

They are only useless if you own all champions. I've been rerolling champion shards to unlock champions since the system came out, since I don't own them all just yet.

you shouldnt do that then.

Buy champions with ip and use the shards for the mastery.

Now that the new mastery levels are out I am well aware it was a bad idea.

But my point is they are not useless.

But riot announced they would want to do more with blue essence, so i saved it and used ip to buy champions

I am sitting on several champ tokens and no chests and 488 blue essence. Frustrating.

i like the idea of having to earn certain ranks to gain mastery on a champ i think they should retcon the mastery system to just showing your average grade of play but this blue essence is just crap, it feels like riot has just given up on its player base especially casuals like me and this is just there latest attempt to get a few bucks from us.
