Are you guys going to keep him as a diver? Or is this temporary? Because this is one of the few times where I've seen Riot blatantly lie to their playerbase. Even with Malzahar, you've tried to push him back into the midlane. But it seems like you haven't even bothered with this rework. Rengar is the least fun he's ever been and the bruiser build is to cause. I'd even be fine with his current rework if they made him an actual assassin and not some kind of bruiser.

Because its them admitting that they want to keep his bruiser playstyle instead of bringing back the assassin playstyle that we all know.

Rengar was never an assassin by the current definition of the class (get in, do stuff, get out). He's only ever had a way in with no way out. As such, it seems only natural that they would reclassify him as a diver.

He's always been atleast half diver, but he built full damage. Most divers need to build tank because their burst is not as high as assassins and they have less mobility so they need tank stats to be able to get their damage off. Rengar always built full damage and generally didn't have a problem eliminating his target, like an assassin. Now his only viable build is tanky, which is the exact opposite of what Rengar was known for. One shots aren't fair, but an assassin being made into a bruiser isn't fair for Rengar players who loved his assassin playstyle, even if he played a lot like a diver.

Consider that they labeled Nocturne as an assassin, who has less ways to get out than Rengar.

I miss the old Rengar's kit, assassin or not.. So i'm excited that this 1 is being reworked.. As long as they keep his passive (which i cannot see them changing-bush jumping) then i'm down for another rework.. Just another case of Ryze though kinda sad lol.

I don't see enough Rengar currently to comment on his currently "viable" builds, but I do remember "tank rengar" sometimes being a thing well before the rework. "Players who liked X playstyle" are often dissapointed by reworks, but that's just a cost that has to exist if Riot decides that they don't want to focus on/enable that X playstyle . I would note that many divers can eliminate a target quickly, like an asssassin, when built full damage and/or ahead.

Personally, I'm confused by Nocturne being labeled as an assassin, for basically the same reason that I'm not surprised by Rengar being labeled a diver.

you don't have to be able to get out to be an assassin, even if rito wants to pretend that is how it works

shaco used to be an assassin yet he never had a means to get out of a team fight same with talon

If Riot is set on having him as a bruiser I don't see why we can't at least have the old Q back, so long as he can't do absurd amounts of burst with it (remove its ability to crit etc) I don't see what the problem with it is.
