I'm tired of being flamed when I pick Bard in champ select.

This thread amuses me. In teaching my step brother to play league he has decided to practically decided to main Bard, and i cant tell you the number of awesome slaughters we've pulled off due to a well placed magical journey.

i'll be honest. his ult positioning still blows every now and then but as a level 21 he hasn't exactly honed skill shots yet anyways.

The greatest disaster though is playing games with him and not being his ADC. He and i literally just spend half our games sometimes just wondering how some of these people play league. there are an uncountable number of times where people on the team couldn't figure out that the glowing green things your support laid down GASP heals. like fcking seriously? The rest of his skills are blatantly obvious but an Ally magical green thing and maybe you cant figure out it does that?

or better yet when he drops them down for junglers or laners and they instantly run it over at full health wondering what it does instead of asking or using common sense. he wastes tons of mana on people doing stupid crap like that. in some games i've even seen him resorting to just dropping them directly under the people he needs to heal after pinging 1k times to grab the green thing and they run by or stand next to it and never touch it.

Bard isn't a terribly difficult champ. he's not a bad support either. It's team mates who have no idea what Bard does and can't use his abilities to help themselves properly that make him bad.

When he has coined a motto of "guess it's another game of spoon feeding my adc heals" because they cant use a shrine, it's not his fault he cant carry wins.

I think this is just an issue of people thinking that Bard is bad due to players not having solid mechanics. Either that, or not understanding him as a champion.

-Bard is not great in an all-in? Well....pick Leona for heaven's sake! -Bard's sustain sucks? Pick Soraka or Sona. Or maybe even Nami. -Bard can't peel? Err, no, a good Bard that is complemented by a marksman who positions well will be able to peel. And besides, if all you want is peel pick Janna or Lulu.

Bard doesn't exactly fit the definitions of support as was established by the previous support champions and that's okay. The LCS has found a way to fit him into their comps and have success (granted, the LCS environment is much different than solo queue). Saying that he's bad is just entirely misinformed.

It's cool to hate Bard. So whenever your adc flashes into the enemy team and ults behind him, nobody bats an eye. But when you exist around the general vicinity of somebody and they die, expect it to be your fault.

I love free wins. Keep picking Bard. :D

He's got a huge skill cap, tbh. I can understand the hate.

Bard is actually in a pretty good spot. Just not a champion you can safely pick blindly. He is easily countered and is terrible if your AD carry can't fend for themselves for a bit.

The problem with Bard in solo Queue is all your abilities are extremely limited besides your Q. Jg's almost never use your E (or anyone ever uses your E) and I have to ping health shrines for people to pick them up. That and your ult lasts about two seconds. Even if you execute it perfectly and ult the fed carry on their team in order to murder everyone else your team just isn't going to be ready. This is why Bard is not as good as other champions in solo queue

People still flame about Bard? Wow. Even after he has seen successful LCS play, which is metric of judging OP nowadays.

honestly bard is a fking good champion. he has the potential to backfire a bit, but a lot of champions have that...

I don't understand the hate. People actually like it when I come to play with them.

In fact, when you are the person in the whole EUW server who plays support in team builder, people practically have to shut up or wait another 10 mins if they want to play. XD

ult the tower and give the carry free kills, they'll stop complaining then XD

Honestly bard damage is so high without building any cause he's kept getting buffs. People just want to flame you for anything they think is not meta.

A good bard is friggin amazing on my team and horror to be against.

Unfortunately for him, he has a forever tainted reputation, that won't be resolved unless he gets a bunch of LCS play where the sheep will start thinking he is OP.

I fear he will just kind of fade off into the mist with Vel Koz as those champions with brief spotlights.

some champs require alot of teamwork... i dont like using azir anymore cause my team doesnt support him... solo q... ugly.

I'm not saying bard is bad, but allow me to be clear and say this is just my opinion. In low Elo, basically between bronze and gold and lower Plat, there is just so many supports that do his job better. Leona, Braum, Morgana, thresh, blitz, Alistar, Annie, naut, he'll even vel and Viktor do a better job in the support roll in low Elo. My point, why play a high skill champ like bard when you can just get freelo through any of the supports I listed?

Eh, I have seen some scary good Bards lately. As in ones that don't abandon their ADC and don't wander into enemy jungle. Also, being a good Bard doesn't mean you only ult the enemy. Once had a fight while contesting dragon. Sion starts ulting towards us, and our Bard ults all 3 of us just in time. Sion passes right through us, stuns himself on the wall, and the ult wears off just in time for us to delete him before he can turn around.

Problem is, for every good Bard, there are 50 who don't know how to use him at all.

Bards biggest problem is without really solid communication he can be wasted. Outside of just getting lucky and a random team that plays well together, you will waste your Ult when your team isnt ready, they wont use your portal, they will forget/ignore your shrines, your adc wont pay attention your roaming.

Solo Q just isnt good for Bard. And honestly I'd rather have a support who does any one of what he does more efficiently then a jack of all trades, kinda, support.
