just change his question to "have you ever thought about adding solo queue back to the game" and you have riot's response since they removed solo queue in favor of dynamic.

because i gave context on their similarities, while you most likely just vented and bitched like a whiney pre-pubescent school girl?

jk, but it probably had to do with how you said it/lack of information given

also, if you're doin' it for the upvotes, just go to facebook. i make posts, popular or unpopular because i feel what im posting needs to be read.

edit; i also downvoted you because you're more worried about upvotes than the actual message.

Why are you using "pre-pubescent school girl" as an insult?

Kiokami4 votes

because pre-pubescent schoolgirls are whiny and pouty as fuck. i would know, i have 2 baby sisters 13 and 15 years younger than me.

and god, i said jk the line after. damn.

DeathBurst2 votes

The problem is not that your insult was just a joke, it's that you consider this generally true enough to use it as an insult in the first place.

If you want to critic someone for being whiny/pouty (as a joke or not), just say that. Don't say that they are a "pre-pubescent school girl". There are tons of not pouty school girls. And school girls would be less pouty in general if they didn't learn through comments like that that it's normal for them to be.

I don't want to attack you personally, I'm just trying to spread awareness of how our clichés sub-consciously shape our society. ;)

Omg chill last thing this game needs is feminists standards being applied. Last time feminism made an attempt on games it failed miserably (Anita sarkeeshian)

DeathBurst1 votes

Well, based on Taliyah reception and the silliness about her eyebrows, this game definitely needs a tad more feminist standards. I'm glad Riot agrees more with me than you.

Right because videogames (entertainment) should cater to the needs of those that are sensitive. I bet you believe tosh.o is the devil reincarnated and south park is the patriarchy propaganda.

DeathBurst1 votes

I don't watch South Park because the two episodes I ever watched didn't make me laugh, but I wouldn't dare make on opinion on so little. And I don't even know who tosh.o is...

But I'll dare say that you're being an ass right now, and that you're willingly deforming what I said. Where did I even mention catering to the "sensitive" people? But yeah, I think Riot is definitely right to NOT cater to the hordes of honry teenagers that post "OMG Rito, Taliyah has big eyebrows, she's so ugly, I don't like your new champ".

Because Entertainment sure doesn't have to cater to sensitive people, but it definitely should help promote positive values. Like dedication, tenacity, team-play... and yes, tolerance.

Think you are missing the message, deragatory terms have been apart of human society since the beginning of history. Much like everyone wants to help the poor to become wealthy (which btw outside of communism is impossible) another word will take its place. Ignoring and just getting over it is what people should do rather than whine and voice there opinion. As much as your right is to freedom speech the other individual does also. You may believe I'm being an ass but I'm sure as hell not being overbearing in telling other individuals to not say certain words because it slightly upsets you. Much like you are upset by what the op said I'm upset that you believe you have the right to tell him what he should or shouldn't say.

DeathBurst1 votes

Slavery has been a part of human society since the beginning of history. Tyranny and Dictatorship too. Are you defending those?

Our modern society is prominently built around a set of shared values, and I'm sure you agree with those values. So why do you get so upset when someone points out that some stereotypes are not consistent with those values? I'm not saying "you must not say this or that", I'm saying "saying this or that contradict your own belief, so you shouldn't do it".

And yes, I voice that instead of just ignoring it because you don't solve problems by ignoring them. "Getting over it" is just admitting you can't change things, it's lack of ambition.

If you are looking for a straight answer to your question then yes. Slavery has been apart of humanity for quite a while, but tell me what is the difference between slaves in the 1800's and individuals making minimum wage today (minus the physical abuse). Most just had enough to survive with food and shelter, giving no real opportunity to grow. Human trafficking and slaves are still very apparent throughout the world. As much as first world nations condone it, they were and are still essential for nations to become developed.

As per dictators (not sure why you even decided to bring this up) outside of the infamous ones. There have also been beloved dictators, such as cyrus the great or José Figueras. This shouldn't even be a relative topic in this discussion.

Rounding back to the original topic at end, as much as you individually condone these practices they are and always will be apart of humanity. You may believe that being a social justice warrior and telling people they are wrong is okay, but in the end it won't make a difference. If I were to meet you, i'd gladly wager everything I own that all of the above will still be very apparent 10,000 years from now. Derogatory terms will be replaced with new terms, slavery will be replaced with the illusion that people are free. Humanity's society has always operated off a set of principals and until we derive from that path (rich, middle, poor) derogatory terms will always exist. it is how humans differentiate themselves from being unified.

Regarding your last statement, it is called being a realist. If I was to lack ambition I doubt I would have much responded at all to your statement. Considering I have taken the time and all to show you, why I believe you are wrong.

DeathBurst1 votes

This shouldn't even be a relative topic in this discussion.

It isn't. It was just some obvious examples of things you didn't defend just because they always existed. To show that this argument, "it always existed", is crap. Well, problem is, you did defend them... I guess it says a lot about you and me. And it certainly shows that we have nothing more to discuss here. As I already said: I'm glad Riot agrees with me more than you...

Agrees with you in what regard? Nothing you have said they have verified. What to remain unbais? That should be the establishing principle for any gaming company. The name calling? That's to create a healthy environment to attract more consumers. Regardless you haven't supported any of your points nor have made an attempt to other than comparing different subjects.

Trust me, you guys don't want Solo Que, you think you do but you don't.

I don't know after having a game where everyone was speaking spanish and trolling me by taking my jungle camps...yeah i think im ready for solo queue back.

To be fair, you're neglecting the fact that Nostalrius was 100% free, which was the major draw to the server. I have 8 friends (including myself) that played only because it was free. Once they announced that it was going down, we kissed WoW goodbye and never looked back.

I know this is kinda gutted but still funny.

You showed probably actually read up on the rest of the situation of the Nostalrius. The whole "You think you do, but you don't", should not at all be taken as serious word for AN ENTIRE COMPANY. Unless Blizzard itself released that statement, not one of it's Dev's, what you really have is a single man's opinion, that people took as the word for a company.

It's important because it speaks to the hubris and presumptuous arrogance of one of the people who make the game. To have the audacity to tell a paying customer what they do and do not want when your game has been steadily and consistently dropping off only serves to show how that you are out of touch with the player base.
