The assassin update fills me with dread in a good way.
It used to be that facing against a Talon, Katarina, LeBlanc or Rengar was a death sentence if you were a squishy, and every delusional asshole who thinks that Riot pays players to harass then starts screaming at you for intentionally feeding.
I haven't fought against them yet, but at least for Kat, LeBlanc and Talon, their respective menaces are much more... well, menacing. I'd almost prefer their old forms.
Talon pulls off insane Assassin's Creed shit to gank other lanes in a novel way, which means the walls themselves might not be safe. Honestly, could you imagine the enemy ganking you from BEHIND? Then imagine the jungler ganking you from the side or front at the same ti- oh FUCK THAT.
LeBlanc I can immediately see as a rage-inducer, but in a good way. A global mimic to fuck with the enemy? As you could see in her video, Darius flashed away from her illusion. That's fucked up. I also like that she has to more properly time her spells rather than dump everything on the enemy before they could react.
Rengar I see as more of a hunter now. His kit made him SLOW DOWWWNNN! a little bit, but his new passive means if he plays his cards right, he hits MUCH harder than before. He just can't do that right off the bat. His ult is meant to scout out and stalk the enemy, waiting for an opportune moment to strike, not jump on the weakest champion repeatedly in the middle of a crowd and then flash out. That's not how hunting works, and it makes Rengar out to be more of a bully.
Katarina I'm having problems seeing as an assassin. Her new kit makes her more Dravenesque while maintaining her knife-fest theme from before. Her menace seems to revolve around juggling her knives and Shunpo to stay just outside of the enemy's range or making you more difficult to hit while you wear them down.
I don't play assassins - more than too many people play them exclusively as it is - but I really want to pick them up and try them out. You know, as long as people stop banning them.
