Is Veigar still playable this season?

I mean, with all the assassins and mobile mids i feel like i die by the smallest mistake. . .

Any tips to use veigar mid this season or i should try support veigar? (Lol)

As far as I'm aware, no champions are currently disabled.

So yes, you can still pick him in champion select.

Veigar can work fine, but I would try and use him more as a counterpick than a main.

Theoretically (I don't mid often, and I play mostly melees. trying to expand my pool) Veigar is a good and viable pick. You'd pick him into melee mids with low mobility (So yes, Talon and Zed are fine- Yasuo is NOT. Do NOT pick Veigar into him, he counters you) and ap hyper carries with low-medium mobility (Syndra, Brand, Lissandra, other Veigars, Katarina, Ekko). The problem isn't if he can work or kill, its that he takes too long to charge. Veigar is a mage Nasus- without a stall team it won't work. However if you can get your team to stall, you win.

In lane you'd want to stay pretty far back and farm with Q. Tell your jungler to go help else, let the enemy mid push you to tower so long as you can stack your Q/cs that way. Once you hit 6, go for the 100-0 play. Max q-r-e-w in that order. If against Talon or Zed or Ekko, poke them when they go to cs and try not to get all-in'd. When possible, CAGE them. That means Talon used his tp, zed's shadow, Ekko's blink- cage em. Blast em til cage breaks, back up. You should have an advantage if you play well. However, you won't be good at roaming.

I'd personally not play Veigar. I'd go for Katarina when I go mid or Ahri- they have a far higher solo queue carry potential.

Again, all theory. I play Elise, Evelynn, Shaco, Fiora and top/jungle picks.

There you can view his winrate against certain other mid champs. He does get countered by Talon, Zed, Kata, Ekko and Brand. Be it either that they can IGNORE HIS ONLY CC, (because Riot cant possibly be consequent) or have no Mana, (which means no need for Mana Regen, so rush item 3001 and he is quite literally fucked), have and ability to get full hp in a sec again (Ekko) etc.

In higher elos does he have a really bad standing, which got even worse after all ap items got nerfed, and games got far shoter.

This dont work for Veigar, how do you think Veigar works? If the enemy isnt harassed by Veigar beforehand than you cant kill him at level 6 (or even 11). There exists a thing called MR and health for a reason. At least in higher elos (not silver, i mean plat+) what you said does not work in any way.

And all the champions where you say that Veigar counters them.... again, he gets countered, statistics are even proving that. At least know a bit about the champions before you post in such a forum, bronze is not an excuse for poor information.

Just get your stun ring to overlap you, that way when they jump on you, they get stunned and you blow them up.

If you see a Rengar as the assassin then I have some good news: His Event Horizon WILL stop his leap. He is then free game to be instantly bursted down.

Very playable. I know this post is old, but I wanted to throw my two cents in as a Veigar main.

Low ELO, probably below silver, he's godlike late game (Even starting at early mid game sometimes if you're good enough. I find myself doing very well by 25 minutes, usually with a couple kills unless I'm against a counter like Azir or Lux. In that case, I'll have maybe a few assists.)

High ELO, well. I don't know. I don't bother with ranked.

Veigar is one of THOSE champs that when you kill someone with your combo, they'll probably rage in all chat about "being OP". In reality, Veigar is far from OP. Hes.. balanced. There's a lot of things to counter him, and most of his stuff is easy to dodge. He's balanced, and if you can get really good with him, he'll be very good at all stages of the game, until you get around mid Plat - Diamond
