I mean the guy did what he always does. Overload his champions with as many passives as possible and with as many bullshit mechanics he can think of.

He couldnt have expected his golden formula to eventually fail.

If memory serves me correctly, Morde's popularity and win rate went up and now he's in a state that Riot feels comfortable in balancing him.

If that's not statistical success, I don't know what is.
