_Dear Summoners! Before downvoting this topic, please answer, why do you want to downvote it. I know there is many topics about Riven, but this one is created because Riot doesn't say anything about her, while she's definitely most popular toplaner right now. _

What do you think about Riven? Is she balanced?
Why Riven has this design? Don't you think that her kit is overloaded?
What do you think about fact that another champion with damage scaling shield (Morde) was reworked in 5.16?
What counterplay does Riven have? What counterpicks?
How do you think, why Riven became popular right now? Is it because Ryze gone?
What do you think about fact that Riven has highest pick+ban rates in Platinum+ elo? Plus she has nice winrate for this popularity.

I honestly don't get all the Riven QQ. Survive with Chogath Malphite Sion Maokai until first back, buy armor, and laugh as she becomes irrelevant in lane.

Yes she can be obnoxious but all lane bullies are. The only change she needs imo is making her Q CD start after the 3rd proc.

Survive. Still there is must be something to do if you're first pick and you didn't pick one of this guys, and you're going to face Riven.

How Trynd supposed to be good vs Riven? She is early bully, and thats what scares Trynd. Plus she has enough control, and thats counters Trynd too. He can AFK splitpushing maybe, thats all.

No. We think she needs a rework since her playstyle revolves heavily around animation cancelling. It wasn't our intention and we want to correct that mistake we made in the past.
Because Riot Games is still innovative company who likes to try out different things. Fresh things. We like to keep our game fresh. Which doesn't mean we make OP or cancerous champions whole time. We like to test out things you know. And when time goes forward, some older champion strengths become reality.
No comments on that one.
Riven has plenty of counter play actually. She is mostly weaker against ranged champions like Quinn or Kennen. But Renekton can also bully her out pretty easily because of his bigger health pool and sustain.
We think it's the playstyle and current meta right now along with animation cancelling. She is very snowbally champion in general and falls into "iCarry" category of champions. We really wanted to give Riven this fighter identity. Players like BoxBox stream regularly too so there is no surprise about the amount of Riven players currently in this meta :).
Her win rate isn't bad or utterly good. She is just annoying to play against. And we get that. We are working on reworking her to make her playstyle a bit more healthy.

She's fine.
She's meant to be very aggressive early, and she has to be. If she doesn't get her gold, she just becomes dead weight.
Different topic entirely
Low natural health regen coupled with high need for AD means its very easy to keep her down if she's behind. Riven favors a burst fighting style, she likes to get in, do her thing, and get out. So she tends to hate champions that can keep up with her in trades or can prolong the fights. Darius, Trundle. Cho'gath, Maokai, etc.
The armor nerfs are essentially a buff to Riven. Also, say what you want, she is incredibly fun to play as.
No idea.
