Why I have given up on Riot

It's not the champion balance problem, its not the game changing. It's the pure lack of knowledge of the game and its state.

From the 5.12 changes:

" Base Turrets Base lasers no longer slow or reduce damage dealt by the targets they are lasering.

Right now, League has evolved pretty heavily toward teamfight style compositions being the go-to strategy - especially in pro level play. In trying to offer more diversity in strategic choices (one might say strategic diversity), we've identified turret death lasers as being the ones inhibiting alternative paths to victory (like split-pushing). We realize that, at the start of the season, we put these mechanics on to curb split pushing, but we're going deliberately hard to see if we can actually push meaningful shifts in strategy. This may also up the ante for turret-diving teams when trying to finish games off (which isn't a bad thing), but we're more aiming to enable split pushing here. REMOVEDSET LASERS TO SLOW No longer slows the target REMOVEDSET LASERS TO DAMAGE REDUCTION No longer reduces the target's damage

Why this is bad? Because there have been massive complaints about base turrets being to weak everywhere. People sit under them for upwards of 30s as squishies let alone tanks. They were made the way they were to reduce the impact of split pushing (not that I agree with that) but here we are a year later and guess what they nerfed the nerfed turrets for the umpteenth time in order to end games faster. Because the average game time hasn't dropped by about 10 minutes since the first changes. The only reason games drag out longer sometimes is people focusing dragon and kills over just winning the game. I used to get games frequently that I could fight for up to an hour to try and turn the game. Now most end by 40 minutes.

All I can say Riot is. Watch you wallets. You are about to go bankrupt the way you are acting lately. Money grubbing for everything (chroma packs/emblems). Balancing in extremely poor ways. Ignoring the player base (your income source) and focusing only on the Pros. I will tell you this much. You have driven at least 10+ people away from your game lately that I know of that have been playing it for about 2 years or more. I mean think about it this way. If I know 10 people leaving this game because of your changes, then that means you are probably losing hundreds to thousands in a game that makes its money off of microtransactions.

The reason I have been drawn to Heroes of the Storm over League is that the game works so much better. Has so few technical issues, and people who can barely run league can barely run HotS while having better graphics than league and still have a half decent frame rate and low ping. Is fairly balanced, and team coordination is a requirement. On top of that they clearly communicate what they want from the game. I don't understand. Do you want the base to be there as a false sense of security or do you want us to use it to defend the ourselves? Objectives in HotS feel worth taking, and here they do not other than the main base and baron and multiple drags.

On top of this you keep going back on your word on champion releases. There are soon to be 3 champions that can force you to do somewhat what they want when you said that you didn't want it to ever be a thing. Same with "diversity". Wants more diverse jungle, yet reworked it so only about half the amount of champs can jungle.

I honestly don't know if your game will last Riot, but your community is bad (toxicity and elitism). You are constantly setting bad examples and making poor decisions. And you have very little in the department of customer service. I mean really you never talk to anybody and send out generic messages, and keep pushing new/more servers on the back burners.

I just don't know why I even am slightly interested in this game anymore. Maybe it's just me not wanting to move on from a game that was one of my favorites becoming just so unfun and hoping that the company can recover, but for now I will have to just keep monitoring the game see if they redeem their selves. I keep telling myself maybe next patch, but every time its just the same stupidity.

The playerbase is terrible. If you feed people spam shat about how much you suck. What happens in hearthstone? Simple. GG that was a pretty good match. Never "Ggez noobs smd"

I don't think Hearthstone is a team oriented game. In league, you can do everything right and still lose because of your teammates. And as a Result, the community complains about the champions not being noob friendly.

It isnt And in league if you play 100% perfect you would have an 80% winrate or higher.

Nobody complains about not having noob friendly champs... People complain about how "broken" annie ryze ekko yasuo leblanc sej gragas amumu nasus kalista kat trist is (and the list goes on...)

Thing is league has pushed away from team orientated. A lot of balancing is causing League to be closer to DOTA style where most champs are toxic and strong. Meaning that each champ has the potential to carry hard enough to force wins. This causes the community to always want to be that person making them really toxic because their is no voice chat to make the game more personal. Diversity in league is at one of the all time lows, and on top of it league is just becoming less and less noob friendly (in player base) meaning this game will become like the situation in Japan. It will have a lot of veterans but no one new will want to play this with they way people act.

On top of this the gameplay is getting a lot more technical and each champ is gaining more strengths making them less and less fun to play against especially when your team/one person is the reason for a single person becoming unbearable.

i'm more concerned that this champ looks like a replacement for thresh when he's banned in lcs XD

he's a combination of skarner and other crowd control masters, he can literally prevent a champion from doing what they want if he hits them 3x

meanwhile, he has a passive that heals him for a percent of damage he has taken, I mean, really? that's a neat idea, but from what it showed, he basically healed 50% of the damage done to him when he was left alone, maybe even more

he might even find use as a jungler, but I doubt it, but lol, the plays, goes bottom, ults, suddenly ADC triple kills mid XD
