Xerath and Rite of the Arcane
's ultimate has major satisfaction issues for me. In a game where modern champions get huge game-changing, graphically intense ults, such as
and
, it just feels out of place... three little pew pew pew bolts that deal comparable damage to his basic spells, only with smaller hit boxes.
I have two suggestions:
• The damage grows with amount of successive shots hit
• Xerath also unleashes a burst of magic energy that expels nearby enemies around him (similar to when one ascends in Ascension mode).
When Xerath gets cornered or jumped on by melee champs, his ult is completely useless. Using it will get you killed.I like this idea the most because this way, he will stand a chance when someone gets to him, plus it would just feel so awesome to use. He could make cool outplays when getting ganked, like pushing the enemy jungler into his own tower and bursting them down in a 1v2, or making room for Xerath and his ADC to do some more damage in team fights when they get cornered.
Don't worry though, the shockwave would be outplayable. Perhaps a
ult could dodge it, or a
W, making for some good counterplay and counterpicks to it.
Most of all though, this change would appeal to the identity of being a super powerful ascended being, instead of just feeling like an annoying poke mage when playing
What do you guys think? Do you agree that Xerath's ult doesn't feel satisfying enough to use? If you don't like my ideas, got any of your own?
