All the Boards do is COMPLAIN.

EDIT: I know some of you don't complain and are constructive. Don't downvote if this post doesn't apply to you.

Can you all be in the least bit grateful?

  1. Fiora rework announced, but you're not a fan of her face in the splashart. That's fine, neither am I, feel free to politely ask Riot to change it. However, when you then tear into the rest of the splash, call the artist untalented, and then tear apart her new (and pretty awesome) gameplay mechanics without even playing her, then you're a ungrateful brat.

  2. The new HUD has been out for less than a day. It's going to take some getting used to. However, finding one thing about the HUD that you would like to be changed and asking Riot about it politely is fine. Tearing into the whole HUD though, with all its improvements, and calling the whole thing crap is just you being a bigot. At least play with it for 1 week.

  3. Asking for champions to be deleted, and not joking about it. We all have champs we don't like. However, if you cannot think objectively and look at parts that are good and parts that are bad, then don't post. Even Riven and Fizz, though frustrating, have weaknesses. Sure they're probably a bit strong, but find out what makes them strong and talk about that.

Basically, it wouldn't hurt to say thanks once in a while, guys. Instead of throwing a tantrum at Riot until you get your own way, why not have an intelligent discussion?

My complaints are almost always directed at the community. It's never been directed at Riot, mostly because I understand their reasonings behind changes and updates and I don't have my head up my own ass.

1: Fiora's update was a huge broadside to me, but it's not an unwanted one. Fiora does have an identity crisis as a supposed DUELIST but acting more like an assassin in execution. Plus, there wasn't much to understanding or executing her ult than hoping to god you survived or killing the enemy before it wore off and they could retaliate. The VU was a curious decision, though.

2: Everything needs time to get used to. The HUD update was a big one because it's your source of information about what's going on in the game. I've been playing this game for two and a half years, and I've learned over time where to look for information. Now I have to untrain myself of all that, and muscle memory can be a monster bitch.

3: I've never demanded a champion to be deleted. I might have said that one champion or another should be nerfed or WILL be nerfed, but deleting champions isn't a thing. They'll just be thrown back into Riot's labs and reworked until the champion has an identity (read: Sion).

Thank you for being part of the minority that has intelligent and constructive discussions.

You see this ^ I can deal with this. But all these kids complaining.. like let Riot do their job, if it still sucks in a week or 2. Then complain!

Like I used to have muscle memory from using camera locked for 2 1/2 years, and now I finally got used to camera unlock. Like muscle memory can be changed. Give it a week or 2 to decide of something is bad... These guys are like those kids that doesnt try something their parents wants them to try out. And when they do, they refuse it cause they didnt take the time to get use to it yet.

I had no idea those still existed down here O_O

....You don't have any experience in PR or customer service management do you? :)

95%+ of the self-initiated feedback any company in any field ever gets is negative.

If you want positive feedback, be the change you want. Make a thread stating something you like about the changes and where they went right. This would help tell the devs what you want to see more of.

I try, but seeing stuff like "The new HUD is the end of League" just makes me really fucking mad.

Valor Bot1 votes

That's probably the most extravagant and hyperbolical thing I've ever heard on these boards, lol

I've tried using Fiora in the past but she wasn't my cup of tea. She was far too complicated for me and I've always hated fighting one cause of how difficult to manage she is. That said, I had been watching her recently, before the rework, and I've been tempted to buy her day by day. Now the rework appears and I really want to buy her. She seems a little more user friendly, plus I've gained more experience playing League since the last time I used her, so I doubt she'll be too hard for me now. New art or not, I'll be looking into getting her. Her face won't change the fact that I press QWER. Her face won't change the fact that she might take some practice. Her face won't change the fact that she'll heal as she pwns. Hmm... would you look at that?

The new HUD is AMAZING. It took me by surprise when I jumped into a game earlier today cause I had forgotten it and while I had no idea what was going on down there, by my 3rd game I got it. It's fan-freaking-tastic. More space to see your surroundings, easier understanding of what's going on to my character and the others around me, and plus, now everything is center stage so I don't have to avert my eyes to the side to make sure I have something or not. The HUD may have changed, but the game hasn't. Hmmm... again?

Riven's tough. K. We get it. Nidalee's tough. K. We get it. Tahm, Zed, Azir, Katarina, Yasuo, Vayne, bans, DELETE, CANCER, Runeglaive, LCS, Smite, Mid/Top ADCs, Bard Support, Annie Support, Lore, Lore, Lore, Lore, Rioters, Hey, Look, Listen, blah blah blah. Hey, guess what everybody, Riot's not about to bend over backwards and allow themselves to be penetrated by your bullsh*t. Play the game, have fun, and quit acting like you're entitled to something. I understand you've "spent hundreds of dollars" for this game and that "as the fans we deserve better" and that "Riot is not keeping their promises" but they're not yours to command. As a company, Riot has goals, a future, ends to meet, expenses, crap none of you seem to understand. So why don't you all get off your fat horses and just take a break from League. Leave, go outside, go on vacation, take a few dozen chill pills, and come to terms with how life works.

Nothing here revolves around you as a single individual and it never will. None of you are the voice of all of us so instead of creating child-ish posts about how some champ is winning out your lane and the game altogether, look into what makes that champ tick and how you can overcome them. Learn to play, learn to live and have fun, and best of all learn to let go. The boards need a huge overhaul because nothing is more toxic in relation to League than these boards.

Thanks for the good post. Though about old Fiora being complicated... what? She was pretty simple imo, with a point-and-click dash, a point-and-click ult, and attack speed and movespeed buff, and an auto attack parry. Pretty simple to me, but that's just me...

i was a wee lad back then. thought it would be a great idea to take Lissandra top... met Firoa in a bush and lo-and-be-hold she grew on me like a nasty rash. hated the damn rash but now that it got a rework, it aint so bad ;)

Thing is they don't listen to even the people that do ask nicely. They really don't care.

Squidblimp1 votes

They care. What other game company releases a huge patch every 2 weeks? And posts on the boards when they have time in their busy schedules to reply to what they can, despite all of it being negative? They aren't perfect and they might not do everything you want, but they do a damn good job of doing their very best.

Squidblimp1 votes

Oh and also they admit to reading the boards without replying a lot just to see people's opinions.

Uhh no. Most of the time they only post in casual threads rather than addressing problems the community has, whenever the community complains about a change EG. Veigar "Rework", Cass rework, Runeglaive, Sated Devourer, Azir nerfs ect they never listen. They only ever care about what makes the LCS get the most views.

Squidblimp1 votes

And you denied my comments, despite there actually being a Riot post about how they read boards without commenting a lot. Too bad I can't remember where I saw it. You're part of the problem sir.

And don't try and think you're part of a solution. No matter what Riot says they don't stick true to their words, they don't care about what WE think the game needs as a majority and what we think are bad idea, they just go along with what they think is right, and when it's wrong and we tell them "We told you so" they just continue.

Riot. Never. Listen.

Such is true now, Such has always been true. Why would they care about us? They have a huge E-Sports scene that brings them more money than you could imagine, and they have people who would play the game and buy skins regardless of what they do to the game, so I repeat, why would they care about what we say?

Squidblimp1 votes

If the game sucks so much, uninstall. Oh wait, you won't because it's actually a good game, because Riot constantly makes sure that it's a good game.

If push comes to shove I will, and I feel that a lot of people will, given some of the major concerns lately, get off your high horse and realize customers will only put up with so much before they stop using the product.

Rain NT2 votes

Leave the game then, like if it concern you so much. I think League as too many players that are too petpeeved about everything and a lot of toxic ones too. Might as well leave if you want to leave. I for one, have felt like quitting multiple times just cause I get tired of the game. But all in all, in the end I know this is a good game and believe Riot is doing a good job.

So I hope I encourage you to leave, one less negative player to deal with and progress to make this game cleaner (in terms of the community). Since Riot won't tell you to leave, I will since you already want to anyway. You already took one step off the roof, I'll just pull you off the roof.

I always am commenting on different opinions I have, but I've noticed Riot only really replies to random meme threads or to very rude posts. People who post constructive critisism get ignored mostly. >_<

Squidblimp1 votes

That is true that they generally only reply to positive or funny threads. However, a lot of those Rioters aren't the balance team. They aren't qualified to do that. They read the posts though, but replying to them is time consuming, and often they feel it's best to take in info rather than reply to it. They have said this. They are very very busy people.

You also have to consider all the constructive criticism a LOT of people agree with and flood the boards with, and its completely ignored by Riot and they do whatever the community was against anyway. AKA new hud.

You and your friends. Have you seen the Boards? Everyone is freaking out cause of how bad and unfocused it is.

Rain NT1 votes

They like it, why on earth would they need to go on the board to complain for lol? Same for all the players that actually like it, they are all probably playing the game right now instead of wasting their time on the board. For me its different, I go on the board to think of constructive ideas for the future of League, and invest my ideas and thoughts on the game and in balancing the game, thats the only reason im on the board.

Basically, it wouldn't hurt to say thanks once in a while, guys. Instead of throwing a tantrum at Riot until you get your own way, why not have an intelligent discussion? Well basicly we say "thx" with every game we play and every Dollar/Euro we invest into this game, even after playing with the most horrible kind of personalyties. xD

OFC You´re right though - Whining alone wont help (exept concerning Lee-Nerfs) and really hurts people investing alot of time and lifeblood into this game, although... asking for constructive criticism in a public Online-Forum mostly used by adolescent and those who want to be is kinda... utopian. :P

BTW: I have to admit, there was one time i really yelled at dear Rito... anyone remebers this tiny evil boy who was a nothing else but a niche pick you get flamed for by some people... I guess I cried at his funeral. :P

maybe if Riot doesn't fuck up so bad EVERY SINGLE TIME, WE WOULD'T HAVE TO COMPLAIN!

If they fuck up every single time, why is it the most popular game in the world? Do you expect every single thing they do to be catered to you, and have them wipe your own ass?
