PSA: You are the adc, you should stay with the team

To be clear: Pushing out a lane that's all the way into your inner/inhib turret is fine, but don't push it past your tier 2 without wards, and never past the mid-way point by yourself. This is also not relevant if your team is pushing into their base and they are all forced to deal with them there. By all means, carry that wave up to force the enemy team to split up to deal with multiple lane pressure. Just don't forget to drop a ward or two on your way out.

Unless you are Vayne, even then try to stay with the team most of the time. Yes, most ADCs should never leave their support/tank mid to late game.

Well, if that solo pushing was followed up by the rest of the team getting an objective due to the adc carry pushing really hard, you can really say anything. If 3 people go bot for that adc (which they probably are) and the team does nothing with that is it really the adc to blame

honestly there is some truth to your statement but at the same time its not always true. It would be interesting to see what a high elo player thought about this. All I know is I can't stand people not pushing out and clearing waves and it happens so often in low elo.

This is how I look at adc right now and I know its not 100% right but it has gotten me out of silver 3 times this season (sort of). Do the standard thing in lane, poke, try and get ahead in cs, try to get some kills, first tower, yata yata. After that I am all for taking objectives and pushing. But after awhile you have to leave your team. There is generally not a reason to always have 5 together especially early. Its crazy how many people just let lanes push in while they try to aram fight mid all game. If I see we have 3-4 mid with a turret up and the enemy in mid lane while there is a minion wave pushing top or bot I am going to go get it. There is no reason to be 5v5 mid playing paddy cake. Obviously this takes some judgement but if I can reasonably assume my team can hold mid without me and there is free cs and pushing to be done bot I am going to do it. Obviously I have to pay attention to the mini map to make sure I don't get caught out, but honestly I don't see anything wrong with adc split pushing as long as they aware of their surroundings and not completely leaving out the team when the team looking to take an objective or team fight late game.

But you have to understand how much missed farm there is in low elo. I never realized until recently and now I just farm as much as I can. I still need to work on my csing skills and timing, but honestly the thought of "adc always with team" when said at low elo makes me mad because I have seen so many times where my team misses farm and misses their advantage by sitting mid for an hour playing paddy cake with the enemy team over and over again.

If the ADC get's caught, they are usually dead.

So the trick is to not get caught. Which usually can't be avoided without being well covered vision wise. This is the case with any split pusher, but a bigger problem for ADC's since they can't really risk face checking a brush. Getting in range to place a ward is often too close.

Otherwise, the side lane can be a good source of CS if you need to catch up. Just simply don't push beyond your teams vision.

But an actual split push, may require TT to actually work, since most split pushers will want to rejoin their team in a team fight. (Unless you Quin with her ult) though most ADC's usually don't get enough benefit from TT to take.
