Hi, my name is (your summoner name here), and I prefer to play (champion type here)

Ok, so the new system is leaps and bounds better than the old system - position preference I mean. used to be arguments at every game lobby about who was going where, but that's a thing of the past. 10/10 rito. Great job! Love the new system.

But its not without its flaws - namely, team composition-wise.

If you're first or second pick, you're at the mercy of the rest of your team as far as a good damage profile (AP/AD) and a good balance of tanks and carries.

I propose a 3rd option in the position preference selection. You choose your role, jungle/top, and then you choose from a dropdown menu of champion types. "I prefer mages." "I prefer tanks." "I prefer fighters."

This would in no way be an enforced decision, you can still pick whatever you want. If you say you like marksmen, you're not FORCED to play a marksman, it just lets your team know that "Hey, i'm probably gonna pick someone squishy" so you can be like "Oh, ok... I should probably pick a tank or bruiser then to make sure we have a good comp."

When you get into champ select, you'll have an icon next to your name. Marksman icon, mage icon, etc.

Then, your team mates know what you prefer to play. I think this would help players make good decisions in draft to make sure they have a nice, well-rounded team composition.

I can't tell you how many times i've been 1st or 2nd pick and, by the end of champion select, I've thought to myself "Well if I knew he was going to pick x, I would have gladly played y"

And I'm aware that champion declaration SHOULD be a remedy to this, but more often than not, nobody declares their champion.

People will lock in whatever they please regardless of composition or team desires and/or needs.

Just communicate in lobby. If players are willing to listen and negotiate then they will.

If they aren't then a system like this won't do anything to affect their decisions.

Some players would, instead, use a system like this to try and bully players down the list of picks.

"Oh, I'm first pick; so, everyone should pick around what I pick. The world revolves around me." Is the mindset that existed before players were allowed to choose preferred roles for an increased chance at receiving them.

I see your point, but as I stated this wouldn't be enforced in any way. Its simply a tool for players to use to help ease the process. More of a guideline than a rule. That stated, I don't know how anyone would be able to use it to "bully" anyone.

But you're right. people are gonna do what they wanna do.

I just think this would be a system that would, at best, help people out and at worst, do absolutely nothing.

Something to gain, nothing to lose.
